I just called my daughter in Texas, with 10 month old twins, because this afternoon the prevailing thought has been "diapers."

She said she didn't believe in the prepping lifestyle, blah blah. I said that China is shut down, and she said she'll just get diapers someplace else. I told her it might not hurt to have some cloth and covers...I am NOT doing cloth diapers!

It was civil, as I know I have to bite my tongue, but I hung up thinking "girl, you're gonna be cutting up old t-shirts and rue the day you blew your mama off."

I just got back from shopping at our local Walmart here, absolutely no signs of panic, no one buying tons of stuff, no one buying up medical supplies other than masks.. its like people think they are remote enough here that it wont effect them.. meanwhile we get 1/2 of Europe tour groups though our town on their way to death valley. They all stop and shop before heading into Death Valley. I did notice that hand sanitizer was in very short supply but that is it. Oh well, glad I am well prepared.

We have been seeing the same thing. Business as normal.... no more wholes in the stock than normal.... even the KIA dealer is offering deals once again..... not sure why...

My brother works at the port and he tells me that they are still moving cars like never before.... though he is dealing with European cars and not Asian cars.

Yep, sorry to say she is lacking a basic understanding of how things "appear" on the market shelves.....

I hope she has safety pins for those improvised diapers and a huge supply of t-shirts. Damn, children can be sooo dense at times.

cloth diapers aren't all that bad. I helped momma change a few of my younger siblings, we just held a corner and flushed it in the toilet and it peeled most the big stuff off the diaper, then into special hamper, then into the wash by themselves. Mind you I used all disposables on my own kids though :D

I believe it will also.

But, lot of dips and rebounds on the way down. The public is no where near awake enough yet for a major drop yet. When we have videos on MSM of American children dying or people dropping in the street like we saw in China (assuming they were real) we will see the day when the circuit breakers start getting tripped. IMHO

Today on Fox business they had some young beefcake guy, a travel agent (last name Abbamonte) who was encouraging everybody to follow through with their travel plans except to China. "It's all good," he said. "Don't let fear stop you. We are Americans!"

Under Control? How? Trumps tweet gives the Chinese citizens reason to believe their Gov that we had something to do with it.
If we got it under control then why are we letting it happen elsewhere? And if we ain't got it under control then still stupid. Sometimes I wish he would stop tweeting such nonsense.

No sign of panic at Seattle Costco. Light day, DW found parking next to entrance. That's unusually light even in normal times. Picked up three 30-roll packs of TP. Gotta have the TP! DW said she saw 1 person wearing face mask & gloves. Other than that, nada.
