MzKitty may be taking a break again. I believe Summerthyme has reached out to her. I've personally reached out to Dozdoats mutliple times with no response so either his email is no longer good or he just doesn't want to respond. WW I don't know but I'm sure someone will sing out.
That said, lif anyone has personal info about people let's keep it in the private area, and not in the public space. We care about all our members and their privacy. Thanks.

Dear Walrus whisper may have received her promotion- but she never goes to far to hear our thoughts, prayers and warm wishes, i'm sure.
Doz, I assume, is stepped away still grieving. I tried to gently prepare him that having multiple losses in the same time frame was a harder gut punch and grieving process than he might expect; In my experience it was definitely greater than the sum of it's parts, so to speak; Seven years down the road and I'm still not entirely through my 2 weeks of multiple, unexpected loss of loved ones, and rolling up on that plane crash.
- he'd wanted contact info exchanged years ago, but I can't locate that, and he's not phoned or emailed/written me, either. Again, though, he cannot go so far away from us that our prayers and warm thoughts and wishes cannot reach and comfort him.

But I was happy to see mercury retrograde has brought many back home- straightstreet, Mary, raggedyman, Raven, just to mention a few. Think I saw Invar online too- and surely there are many more I've just missed.
So. That is the silver lining I have to share. Hope it helps.

I miss them and especially Thompson. They (like so many here) seemed to have a mindset I found compatible. This is truly a special place.
Thompson is fine... she had real life stuff that needed attention, but she'll be back.
Walrus Whisperer... I'm sure she has passed on. I'm hoping she's enjoying her chickens in Heaven!
I need to see if I can find Dozdoats address and write him a note. I do hope he's OK... that sort of a double shock, especially after years of caregivers, is a tremendous stress on the body.

Many of us long-timers are getting older--I think Dennis said a while ago that the average age of members here is now 70--and just as seeing the "brain-drain" of the older workers (the founts of wisdom, common sense, and true reliability due to their deeply-held values) grieves me as I watch our society deteriorate as these last vestiges of what America once was pass on----so I grieve as I see our numbers dwindle here on TB2K.
I hope younger new members will step up to catch up the flag and take their place and move forward---but watching the news (like the protests) and seeing how thoroughly our younger generations have been brainwashed, I realize the numbers of such young people are becoming fewer and fewer.

It's 72, based upon the last time I took a poll and at that time the average age was 67 or so. What that poll showed is the need to attract younger people to the board.

If anyone has contact with mzkitty, and knows whether or not she might need some help, I live not far from her, and have offered on quite a few occasions to help her out with things. I could drive her somewhere, help her acquire things she might need, and even offered more recently to help her find a new place to live, and to help her move. She has not taken me up on the offers, but it still stands! Let me know if there is anything I can do!
Sorry Bev, wasn't targeting anyone in particular. We have a very compassionate membership here on TB2K and sometimes people forget, in their zeal to try and help or understand, that the interwebz can be a nasty place with people who are even nastier.
Personal example, it has been a few years but I was dox'd here at TB2K. The mods at the time did a champion job of getting it all erased and the "member" who did it was banned. But if it can happen to me it can happen to anyone else.
TB2K is our virtual home, but no matter how hard we all try, we need to remember that there are wolves in sheep's clothing even here. Sad, but true. We all need to do the best we can for each other so those wolves starve.
Unfortunately, today’s younger folks generally don’t do web discussion fora. Rather, they do instagram, Facebook and the like. In the end (and I don’t know when that “end” will be), the last person here will need to turn off the lights as they leave. It’s disheartening to say that, but it is what it is.

SAdly Dennis is mostly right in his assessment of our youth.
BUT...there are exceptions! Neither of my two (one is a 93 model and the other a 96) are on social media at all. I'm the only one in the family on X. My DW uses that dumb picture thing...instagram maybe? IDK.
But both of my girls are committed to raising children and homeschooling. I currently have two grandsons who are definitely being homeschooled without cell phones. Their mom is almost as hardcore a prepper as her parents.... The other one isn't much on storing food, but isn't in a great place to do that and knows she belongs here is the wheels come off...
I have a 26 year old male employee...he's fantastic. Again, zero social media. None. Saving for a house. Junior prepper...
There is hope, and there are more of these good youngsters than we might think..

One of things about using a forum on the internet is you cannot see the person or person's your conversing with and have no idea how young or old they are.
Many years ago using C.B. radio to talk to people living up to 30 miles away and someone brought up the fact you cannot see who your talking to and part of the fun is you're imagination go's to work on what they may look like oh boy what a conversation that was.

Actually we've had some wonderful younger folk- accomplished pilots, published writers, folks who were informed and articulate on subjects and offered well reasoned comments instead o' silly memes or bad tempered one liners.
..but we ran em off.
OH wait lol. They were in their fourties and fifties. Guess that really isn't your idea o' younger eh. Those who are 20s and 30s are interested in the info, and have the passion, in my experience- just not the life events to share as much first hand knowledge. Still, they're vibrant and engaged- though that may be because I avoid vapid and vacuous folk o' all ages that I still find intelligent and interesting folk in every demographic.

They don’t even do Facebook or instagram. Most are on twitch, discord, TikTok and snap chat.

I've been surprised to find my son playing War Thunder on one screen while streaming Ben Shapiro on the other. I don't know how you'd pay attention to either but he is a very good player as well as fairly well versed in current political events.
