PRYR RQST On behalf of member, BONES

Loretta Van Riet

Trying to hang out with the cool kids.
I am posting this request with his permission. Many of us remember the terrible fall he
had almost 3 years ago...

An Update and Request:

A week from tomorrow, on June 12, Cindy and I will finally go to a SSDI hearing in front of a judge. Two days later, on the 14th, we will place yet another tick mark on the calendar. That day will mark 32 months since my accident.

We humbly ask you, yet again, to please keep us in your prayers for achieving our goal of being adjudicated as disabled. It isn't what we envisioned as our middle years, but it is necessary to open doors to medical attention to ongoing issues which stem from the headfirst fall from about 25 feet.

I, with my beautiful wife, family and friends watching almost helplessly, continue to deteriorate in many, many ways, both physically and mentally. I won't go into all that any farther right now. Let's focus on the fact that I lived through what should have killed me, and considering that as a starting point in our thankfulness, please beseech God to touch the heart of compassion and understanding in Her Honor, the judge, a week from tomorrow.

Life is a beautiful, fragile, brutal, God-given gift, not to be squandered. We try every day to hold onto faith and miracles. The lessons have been many throughout this whole chapter in our life. We chose long ago to be fairly open with highs, lows, and in betweens for anyone to see, and hopefully be encouraged in your own struggles that, in fact, any obstacle can be overcome.

Thank you to each and every soul who has stayed with us throughout our genuine test of faith. Thank you for your prayers, good thoughts, well wishes, open doors, hearts and checkbooks.

After the hearing, our attorney has advised us the decision usually takes 2 to 4 months to be rendered. We will surely keep you posted.

Thanks again, from our very spirit,

Mark and Cindy

Special note to Deena Kathy Dan Dawn Lg .... please feel free to board this message to our friends you-know-where. I'd like them to know where this stands, as so many have a vested interest in us. ? Thank you.

Dear Lord, let Mark and Cindy see the light at the end of this long tunnel. Hoping and praying the judge sees fit to be a vessel of the good Lord in their situation. God is good. I know the prayers we send on their behalf are muchly appreciated.

To get SSI you really have to get a SS attorney-they all want their 25% cut. If it goes to court I think they get 50%, I can't remember (mine went to court because the state guy had a mad on for my doctor, the judge threw him out of court but I still had to fork over a huge bundle of cash to my lawyer for a few minutes in a room with me, my doctor (who's travel and expenses I had to pay-he'd moved across state), my freaky lawyer and a judge.

Even so, I'd never got a penny without that psycho lawyer. If you don't have one get one.

Best of luck and prayers for you!

Prayers sent to you that you can eventually heal, and move on with your life, and prayers sent that the judge has a fair and honest heart, and a good dose of common sense to go with it so that you receive the means necessary to be able to move forward in as comfortable manner as you can.

Best of luck and prayer.

He should go in and tell them he is an opiod addict and addicted to cable. Stuff some pillows under his clothes so he looks obese and then he needs to bawl.

Dear Lord I pray your Holy Spirit may fill the Judge's heart with discretion that he may see the truth and integrity to uphold the law and implement that which is legal and just.

This is precisely what I wanted to say...but I could have never worded it so eloquently. So, I will add an "Amen!"

Prayers for a positive outcome. Don't let others' horror stories scare you. Our experience was pleasant when my husband went before the judge advocate. It took four years, but he finally was approved. Hang in there.

Lord help the judge to do right by Bones. It's a miracle he's still with us, and his needs are righteous.
