Loretta Van Riet
Trying to hang out with the cool kids.
I am posting this request with his permission. Many of us remember the terrible fall he
had almost 3 years ago...
An Update and Request:
A week from tomorrow, on June 12, Cindy and I will finally go to a SSDI hearing in front of a judge. Two days later, on the 14th, we will place yet another tick mark on the calendar. That day will mark 32 months since my accident.
We humbly ask you, yet again, to please keep us in your prayers for achieving our goal of being adjudicated as disabled. It isn't what we envisioned as our middle years, but it is necessary to open doors to medical attention to ongoing issues which stem from the headfirst fall from about 25 feet.
I, with my beautiful wife, family and friends watching almost helplessly, continue to deteriorate in many, many ways, both physically and mentally. I won't go into all that any farther right now. Let's focus on the fact that I lived through what should have killed me, and considering that as a starting point in our thankfulness, please beseech God to touch the heart of compassion and understanding in Her Honor, the judge, a week from tomorrow.
Life is a beautiful, fragile, brutal, God-given gift, not to be squandered. We try every day to hold onto faith and miracles. The lessons have been many throughout this whole chapter in our life. We chose long ago to be fairly open with highs, lows, and in betweens for anyone to see, and hopefully be encouraged in your own struggles that, in fact, any obstacle can be overcome.
Thank you to each and every soul who has stayed with us throughout our genuine test of faith. Thank you for your prayers, good thoughts, well wishes, open doors, hearts and checkbooks.
After the hearing, our attorney has advised us the decision usually takes 2 to 4 months to be rendered. We will surely keep you posted.
Thanks again, from our very spirit,
Mark and Cindy
Special note to Deena Kathy Dan Dawn Lg .... please feel free to board this message to our friends you-know-where. I'd like them to know where this stands, as so many have a vested interest in us. ? Thank you.
