DD is in Spain for the entire Spring semester as part of her International Journalism Degree from University of Wisconsin. Many of you will remember her previous photos from her studies in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands,

She is based in Madrid Spain and shares a spacious apartment with four other ladies in her program. DD travels throughout Europe as part of her course and was even able to visit the Vatican City during the Conclave.

Right now I will share some photos of her side trip to the ancient city of Valencia Spain and hopefully I can find the other pictures later.

DD is using a Nikon D60 digital SLR camera FWIW,

Uncle was a globe trotter and lived everywhere. I once asked him what his favorite place was, he told me Spain, said it was the most beautiful place he'd ever visited.

On TB every waking moment
Have a grand daughter that is in some sort of thing in college, spent a semester in Spain (Valencia) and a semester in Quito, Ec. I told her I had an opportunity to travel at her age too, I would need an M1 rifle, 100 rds of ammo, and two hand grenades so I could shoot my way into the country because the natives were hostile.

She got mugged in Q, (kid had a fake gun but who was going to challenge it.) no damage done, but the some of the natives there were hostile too, it seems.

DD is in Morocco for the next few days. I wasn't too thrilled to hear about that.

excellennt pictures, thank you for sharing these. ahhhhhhhh, street food, I am a sucker for all of it. I love it!!!!!the chocolate shops and bakeries are wonderful too, trust me on that one. they tend to call my name ,while I was in europe, I just simply couldn't pass them by. lol

these are wonderful, and she will have a life time of memories.

Awesome pics, Red Baron, thanks for posting them!

There is no better education than travel, IMO. Thankful that she can have that experience, as she will remember it for the rest of her life and be a more educated, well-rounded person for it.

Well I never been to Spain, but I kinda like the music.... No, wait, that is something else, we won't go there.

So glad she got to go to Italy - that is my favorite European country by far, and rural UK is amazingly beautiful.

Have heard that Ireland is stunning but haven't been there, found Germany to be beautiful with many old castles, but the people very reserved, staid and all about "following the rules". It's almost as if they are afraid the Nazis will come back, weird.

Again, thanks for the wonderful pics and prayers for safe travels always for your talented daughter!
