Misc Pool water Issue

I have a simple question on balancing ph and total alkalinity……..

My ph was low so I added sodium carbonate which brought the ph up but not enough. Problem is it also increased the total alkalinity to 140 from 100.

How can I lower the total alkalinity and increase the ph?

Good luck. This is why our above ground pool went into the trash. BFF is a whiz with hers. It's always clear and clean. I think Bigfoot was skinny dipping in ours.

They do have products that will raise ph and that will lower alkalinity. They’re not cheap but I’ve found it to be less troublesome to go ahead and spend that and have it right.

Go to a pool store. A good one will test the water and show you what you need. I started buying in the sizes for the big pools because it was more affordable than what is charged for small pools. And one bottle of that size typically lasts me at least a year, normally two.
