Looking for those sweet high calorie 'salad' recipes - that have cream cheese, Jello, fruit, cool whip, mayo - kind of things. They sound tolerable, and right now, I need high calorie. The only one I saw was a 'Cotton Candy' salad in the recipe section. It's just hard to find the 'recipes' when you don't know what they're called!

Don't forget you can do cheese balls, and goat cheese with flavorings, those are high calorie/fat and very soft. There are also a lot of high calorie cream cheese dips if you want something savory. Just type cream cheese dips into the google bar.

Broccoli cauliflower salad:
3 cups broccoli
2 cups cauliflower
1 small red onion diced
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup bacon
1&1/2 cups of mayo and add sugar (or monk fruit sweetener) to mayo to taste
Mix well, and chill in the fridge.

My family loves this and request it often. I just guessed on measurements, because I don't have or use a recipe. You can adjust the recipe as needed

I'm looking at that one for my son. Found it a few days ago. After he made it clear that he likes strawberries.

This recipe is so easy and is a long time family favorite. My children and grandchildren refer to it as Grandma salad. I loved it as a child too and it was one of the first recipes I asked my mother for when I was a newlywed.

Grandma Fruit Salad

1 can mandarin oranges, 15 oz. size
1 can pineapple chunks, 14 - 15 oz. size
miniature marshmallows
1 C. sour cream, approximately (I put in enough to make sure the fruit is well coated)

Dump both cans of fruit into a colander. Fruit juice may be reserved for use in something else but is not used in this recipe. Allow the fruit to drain for at least an hour, it's important that the fruit is not very wet or the salad ends up too soupy. Mix fruit and sour cream together in a bowl. Add a couple of generous handfuls of mini-marshmallows and mix until marshmallows are evenly distributed. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or best is overnight. Stir before serving. The acid in the pineapple breaks down the marshmallows somewhat and it blends with the sour cream to make a delicious, sweet dressing for the fruit.

Where I am supposed to be.
I love this recipe for Pea salad....ate the whole bowl myself, well not all at once :geek: . And I also added 1 cup of shredded cheese instead of the 1/2 cup called for.

Dressing

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Salad

  • 4 cups frozen sweet peas thawed
  • 12 strips bacon cooked until crisp then finely chopped or crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 a medium red onion peeled and diced
  • Instructions

    • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the salad dressing ingredients. Cover and refrigerate while you move on to the next steps.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the peas, cooked bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced red onion.
    • Pour the salad dressing over the salad in ingredients in the large bowl; toss well. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours before serving.

My mamas pink stuff! Really, that’s what my whole family calls it.

Strawberry or raspberry jello
Tub of Cottage cheese
Tub of cool whip
can of pineapple tidbits or crushed pineapple
And sometimes pecans.
This! Every southern home use to have this for major holidays. Honestly, I have much better luck with cottage cheese in these sorts of things than cream cheese...so quick and easy too. I can vouch for the fact that it will put the weight on you. This is one of my favorite comfort and not feeling well foods but I rarely can have it because I'm addicted to it and it packs on the pounds. The only fluff DH will touch is Four Layer Delight or Peanut Butter Pie. That reminds me, Millionaire Pie is pretty sinful too and none of these have a hard crust. I'll try to find those this weekend and add just in case anyone would like more fluff lol.

My mother had a little different version of the fruity fluff that is just as addictive and fattening...maybe worse. I thought this was another of her recipes lost forever but a cousins wife just happened to mention asking her for it and shared it with me. The wife is such a sweet and humble person, I can see her giving it to her.

Ma's Fruit Salad
One tub cool whip
One small sour cream
One can fruit salad, drain
Bag mini marshmallows
One jar cherries, drain - I cut mine in half
One small can crushed pineapple, drain
One can mandarin oranges, drain
1/2 bag coconut

Mix it all together and let it set overnight in the fridge...I have to sample first. Also, I like to add chopped pecans to mine and cousin's wife adds grapes. When I need fluffy stuff, I usually do this or Kewpie's version.

My mama still makes it for every major holiday. My husband, poor guy, is family is from New Jersey (although they’ve been in Texas almost 40 years) and he CAN’T STAND IT. I was all excited for him to try it, and he almost vommed. :lkick:

I am good with any high calorie recipes you want to post!
I may have missed why you needed the recipes. But if you’re looking for high calorie, try looking at Keto recipes, and then whatever they’ve replaced carbs with, just put the carbs back in. My husband goes off and on keto and it’s annoying when he does because I can’t tolerate such a high fat diet. I like low carb well enough, so I just make ‘less fat’ keto recipes.

But it’s things like adding a stick or two of butter to your chili/pot roast/cream soups, heavy whipping cream in ‘pasta’ dishes, puddings, anywhere you would milk - and lots of cream cheese! You can also make fat bombs. If you have any specific parameters for the person needing the recipes (their type of favorite foods, savory/sweet), I’m sure I have about a million suggestions.

I have lost a bunch of weight due to cancer and am trying to avoid a feeding tube. I also can't open my mouth well, so I need squishy stuff.
Oof, that *is* rough. Prayers for ya, Moldy! It might take me a day or two (I’m trying to get my kid, house, and farm in order to go on a week long vacation on Friday), but I’m going to look up some of the fat bomb recipes (some are like puddings) and cream soup recipes. There’s also an appetite booster I give my kiddo off Amazon. It’s not a miracle supplement or anything, it’s primarily iron, b vitamins, lysine, collagen, zinc. We mix it into OJ, and it DOES help a bit. If nothing else, it should help boost your immune system.

Peanut Butter Pie
16 oz. cool whip, thawed plus enough to top the pie if desired
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 graham cracker crust

Cream peanut butter, sugar, and cream cheese, fold in cool whip and spread on graham cracker crust...chill well. I add another layer of cool whip on top. You can omit the crust and just eat the peanut butter fluff.

4 Layer Delight
Layer 1: Crust...1 stick melted margarine, 1 cup plain flour. Blend and spread in pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. I use 9 x 13 pyrex.

Layer 2: 8 oz. cream cheese softened, 1 cup powdered sugar, 8 oz. cool whip thawed (I use 16 oz,). Beat until fluffy and spread on cooled crust.

Layer 3: Two small boxes instant chocolate pudding, 3 cups milk. Mix and spread on layer 2.

Layer 4: Top with 8 oz. cool whip (again, I use 16 oz.).

Chill and enjoy!

This is the only thing I cook that I use margarine in. Butter makes this crust tough. I have mixed half butter and half oil and that is ok but the crust is still not as tender as all margarine. This stuff is so good that it's requested at every family function. The longer it stays in the fridge, the better it is so you really need to chill well before you eat it. Somebody in our family digs out more crust than they should and I often find it looking normal on top but crustless on bottom. I'm not pointing fingers but I'm pretty sure it's either one of the sisters or one of the girls.

Hey moldy! Trying to get you a couple of recipes to kick things off. Do you have anything that stimulates your appetite? Are you a spicy/salty gal? Love Chinese or Italian? Do you prefer sweet things? Lemme know what you’re craving, and I’ll find a way to make a high calorie version. If you can stand a truffle like texture, I have tons of fat bomb recipes. Can you eat pasta? Or do you need something liquid?

Also, I apologize because I am not a recipe kind of cook. Absolutely nothing is an absolute and feel free to add, subtract, or substitute as suits you and your tastebuds.
1 pckg white chocolate pudding mix
1 cup heavy whipping cream
8 Oz cream cheese
1 cup water.
At room temp, blend til smooth, put into containers, and refrigerate. You can change pudding flavors, and when I make pudding, I buy disposable containers with lids, and add a cookie crumble layer. Or make a cake of it. Layer graham crackers in the bottom of a pan, cover in pudding mix, a layer of crackers, pudding mix, and then take a container of chocolate frosting warm in the microwave til liquidy and pour over the top.

If you’re a savory gal, one of my FAVORITE breakfast casseroles (easy to throw together, reheats beautifully, and fairly soft)
A can of buttermilk biscuits, quartered, scattered in the bottom of a pan (about a 9x13)
Brown about a pound of breakfast sausage (as spicy as you like it) and evenly top the biscuits.
I make mine with about 6 eggs and a bunch of egg whites, for you, I would do 8-10 eggs and a good amount of heavy whipping cream, pour on top. You don’t want to drown your biscuit pieces, but it should pretty much cover them.
A good handful of shredded cheese (sharp cheddar, mild cheddar, Colby Jack, use what ya got!) enough to evenly cover the whole thing.
1 pkg of pioneer brand gravy mix. There’s a number of ways to do this. Some people cook the gravy to thicken and pour over the top, but quite honestly, I just mix the gravy and water (it should be about 2 cups-1.5 cups cold water then add the gravy mix). Some people make the gravy from scratch, but I’m usually cooking for a crowd and I’m trying to be QUICK!!
Season with your heart (it doesn’t normally need any salt), and cook for about 30-45 mins at 350. Til the middle is set. It’s SO GOOD! It’s what I serve my friends when I know it’s hangover time.

Cheeseburger soup-cook 2 lbs ground beef (I would drain this, but you want FAT!!)
1/2 c chopped onion, a tblsp minced garlic. When meat is cooked and onions translucent, add a half can tomato paste, 2 tsp mustard, 32 oz beef broth (if it’s not too much expense, spring for a 32 Oz carton of beef bone broth, there are also some squirty bone broths, or you can add a few scoops of unflavored collagen powder-heck, even Knox gelatin!) a can of diced tomatos, a tblsp (or 3) or Worcestershire, and season with your heart (s&p, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika).
Simmer uncovered over a medium heat for 10-15 mins.
Reduce heat to low, and add a block of room temp cream cheese (whipped cream cheese is even better), a cup of cheddar cheese, and sprinkle with cooked bacon bits until it makes you happy. I LOVE adding in chopped celery and mushrooms with the onion and garlic, but not everyone does. Spoon it over rice or mashed potatoes for a carb hit.

Banana avocado shake:
2 frozen bananas
2 avocado
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1-2 good handfuls of greens (like frozen kale, spinach)
1-1.5 heavy whipping cream
You can add in flax seed, almond butter, some berries, but it’s just fine on its own.
Blend it all together - this should be like 2-3 servings. Store the leftovers in the freezer.

Other things I can think of: some type of a pasta Alfredo. Broccoli cheese soup. Zuppa toscana is a good one! Just add a lot of HWC and extra parmesan cheese, and some pastini for a dose of carbs.
