scenic wilderness maine, but unique cropping.
I like to go outside of the traditional 2x3-8x10-11x14 crop format to instead use almost a panoramic crop. print it on 13x19 paper on a larger printer (these now available much cheaper than a little while ago, maybe $250 by HP) then cut the paper to fit the photo and mount on black foam board.

Great shot, col.

Those mountains in the background? Lake Webb?

Could be any place in Maine. I know you like to visit around.

this is lake webb, of which you speak. spent every summer of my life on this lake, 10 miles from my office, 15 miles from my home, at the family cottage built in 1932. Trying to figure out how to be buried here.

maybe I should stop. We have too many flatlanders moving here, trying so damned hard to turn it into north Boston. My former favorite trout pond was bought up by the Appalcian Mt Club using a grant (our tax dollars) (land for Maine future fund) and now closed off unless you hire their guide to drive you in to the pond. Their exec director also built himself a little cottage on the otherwise deserted pond. Our tax dollars at work. I actually had a guy in Boston tell me, during a course I was teaching, that they have to take over the North Maine Woods because Mainers were too stooopid to properly care for the wilderness here. Said we were cutting down all the trees. He eveidently was too stoopid to realize trees grow back and that the Maine forest has been harvested for 300 yrs and still grows back. Way more trees now than 100 yrs ago. I threw his ass out of my meeting right then and there. Freaked out the rest who subsequently did not argue the point.
