So he said to me, "I bet I pay less in gas than you" (pups-in-RV PICS post #5)

I was fueling up the RV after my Friday trek to get the front end aligned. At the gas station, on the other side of the pump was some middle-aged man in a $40k SUV. He looked over at me and said, "I bet I pay less in gas than you do."

I said, "I bet I pay less in mortgage and property taxes than YOU do."

Game, set and match.

And I'll post-up some pup-in-motorhome pics in a bit.

I bet his $40K SUV doesn't have a private crapper in the back, lol.

With a beer fridge, HD TV, stero and a bed to boot.

"It's clear they have their bed, Dennis, now where are you going to sleep! "

Just what I was thinking!!

( my dogs sleep in the bed as well !)

Note that that is a Queen bed, and that Hermione is not centered across it. If she'd lay her head down, it would be on the nightstand. If she were to be centered across the bed, her butt would be on one side and her head the other. That's a FIVE FOOT LONG DOG folks. And that would not even be stretched out...

Hermoine looks like she is ready to drive away in that first pic. I can hear her telling you to get the heck out of her seat, lol!!

And she sits as tall as a human in a car's driver seat. I see people laughing and pointing all the time when I've left them in the minivan. Hermione usually gets in the driver seat and Odin gets "shotgun".

Love your rig, Dennis. Looking out the windshield photo : (nit picking ,here) but if those wiper blades are parked there when at rest it would drive me crazy (a short trip some would say;).

Best Regards,

Love the pics! Especially the one where they look like they're driving away without you, lol.

Your retort to the man at the gas station was priceless!

Let's see now, Hermoine and Odin get the queen bed and you get to sleep on the dinette made into a bed, right?

No way all three of you are going to get into that bed. Queen sized or not. It is just not big enough.

Our pup who is now 40lbs at almost 6 months old sleeps with me in a reg sized bed. If the older dog Ashly (85 lb Malamute) decided to join us, I would have to leave to sleep elsewhere. (hoping little Sophie is about done growing. She is perfect size right now. )
Ashly is Ashly and we love every inch of her. She is the big dog, queen of the house. Sophie is the little princess, lol.

I love the line you gave the guy also.

You know, I just realized something. The pics above remind me of those dogs playing poker but here we have a married couple going RVing together. Take a look at those pics again with that point of view...

Funny, since you aren't paying either, I guess.

And you are middle aged as well, right?

After only TWO RIDES in it, when I say "let's go for a ride" they go zooming out the garage door straight to the RV and hop up and down at the door until I get there. then they shove each other to see who gets in first. Really too funny to see...

Lindapie: I agree.

I fail to see the humor in the mortgage comment, as Dennis has said he quit paying his mortgage ages ago and is waiting to be evicted via foreclosure. It just seemed sad. And driving an RV he borrowed money for as well.

You DO realize that had I a choice in the matter, I would have continued paying the mortgage, right? And that it's BY FAR not my choice to have had to get the RV, abandon most of my possessions, and live the life of a modern "Okie" (as they were called in the Depression, loaded up in their jalopys). I mean, you understand that I would much rather live in my HOME, with a "real mailing address," large rooms, a yard for the pups and ROOTS, Right...?

Dennis borrowed the money for the RV but he paid it back. Enough said. God Bless YOU Dennis and may He lead and guide you on your way!

Seems like wherever Hermione and Odin are would be Home sweet home! It's good that you can see and enjoy a bright side of life in spite of someone with a burr up his/her butt trying to rain on you. Thanks for the pics - gave me a big smile.

You thought the inside of your house was fur covered???? With them going in/out several times/day and sleeping on all the furniture, the carpet and everything else will be trashed in no time. That's too bad. And it makes for a rough life for the dogs too.

Good luck!

OK.....

Y'all be honest now:

Am I the only one who read the thread title a little too quickly and thought initially that it said, "I bet I pass less gas than you." ????

:lkick:

Nice pics, but too bad for Dennis. Now he's gotta buy his own RV. The dogs have claimed that one.

:D

Good looking pups and good looking set up there Dennis. May it always be used for pleasure cruising only!

My wife tried to talk me into buying an unused FEMA trailer for a bug out vehicle... until she went inside one. Now if it had been a set up likes yours, I'd have a new monthly payment.

Maybe one day...

Dialogue for pic #1

Hermione saying........Hey, I think I see a fire hydrant in the distance!

Odin replys .............Yeah, yeah, really, really, ya think so!

Hermione..........Yup, and this time you better not get out and then tell me
you don't feel like it and can't do anything just now.

Odin................But, but.......that other one just didn't smell right.

Dennis,a little Okie history. When the bank failed, my parents couldn't get to their money and couldn't pay the mortgage. They loaded up everything possible on, in, or behind an old Hupmobile. They had breakdowns on the way and didn't think they would make it. One tire was patched with something called Friction tape. When they crossed into California, my father stopped the Hup, and he, my mother, and my two older brothers got out of the car and kissed the ground :eleph:
