Update: We have a new Sunspot forming on the viewable lower right hand side on the Sun and should rotate out view in a day or two and back to a blank Sun again.
The score is now at!
WE are now 180 days into the year 2020.
134 days without Sunspots.
46 days with Sunspots.
We are now at 74% of the Year without Sunspots.
With 365 days to the year JULY, 1 is the halfway point in the calendar year.
Fingers crossed that this one makes it. I worry about this coming winter.....New Sunspot and poped up almost in the middle of the Sun, it's a small one and will update when we see a change.
Well we had a few days of confusion with Sunspots showing out of nowhere then disappearing only to have a few forming that never became a Sunspot or even counted as one..
Our Sun is still going from the old solar cycle 24 to the new cycle 25 and showing some uptick with Sunspot activity or trying to and how long this will last is unknown.
Its July 8, 2020 we are now 190 days into the year.
So far we have 141 days without Sunspots.
Up to now we have had only 49 days with Sunspots.
The percentage of the year without Sunspots is at 74%.
Ok; one of the failed Sunsopts has come back to be a Sunspot again and it's on the center line far right side of the viewable Sun and should rotate out of view in a few days.
Ok; I waited a whole day to see what happens before posting an update, and we now have two Sunspots going at the same time and it looks like it will be a week before we "may" be back to a blank Sun again.
No kidding! Wow, finally....
Yes and it has some size to it too and it's just rolling into view, we have one Sunspot that's about to roll out of sight and see if it's gone by tomorrow morning.
A few days ago there was a thread about the Farmers Almanac the topic was this coming winter and I said given a few days I would be up dating this thread.
We have just gone 14 days without Sunspots
It now looks like our run of Sunspots is over and no telling if we will see any more, but I think we will that's the best we can hope for.
As of now we are 248 days into the year 2020.
We now have 170 days blank or spotless Sun.
We've only had so far 78 days with Sunspots.
The percentage of the year without Sunspots is now at 69%.
Ok we have just went 21 days without one Sunspot showing up.
We're now at 176 days without Sunspots and holding at 69% of the year with no Sunspots.
So far We've only had 78 days with Sunspots.
Publius, I just posted an Electroverse article on the GSM thread about sunspots and the GSM. Here's the link (#1415 if it doesn't work):
