The Kingdom is Lost

There was once an unpopular king in a far-away kingdom long, long ago. He was so unpopular that an uprising was planned with the object of throwing him out and taking over the kingdom. The king heard about this plot and heard that two of his counts were involved.
The king had the two counts arrested and thrown in the dungeon. Then he had one of the counts brought to the throne room and his neck put on a block while an executioner stood over him with a huge axe. The king told the count to confess the details of the plot or it was off with his head. The count refused so the king gave the order to the executioner. Just before the axe hit his neck the count yelled out, "OK, OK, I'll tell." But it was too late to stop the swing and the count met his demise.

The king then had the second count brought into the throne room and went through the same routine. The count would not confess so the king gave the order. Just as the axe was coming down he said, "OK, OK, I'll tell." Again it was too late.

As a result of this, the plat was carried out. The king was overthrown and lost his kingdom.

Which just goes to prove you shouldn't hatchet your counts before they chicken.

I'll show myself out...
