Neither here nor there.
I have some beautiful snow white turnips that Orion Commander bought at the farmer's market, with the greens still attached and need some recipe ideas. TIA.
You can fix them like scalloped or au gratin potatoes.
I use them to replace potatoes in just about any recipe. A little bit sweeter but otherwise perfect swap.
Interesting. We don't make mashed potatoes here often, so I don't think I did that one. But everything else has worked fine. I occasionally grab them at the store just to have some different flavor.Thanks. I tried to make some like mashed potatoes and it was a total fail, very chunky and a bitter taste. Not sure what I did wrong.
If it is by itself, (like mashed or hashbrowns/home fries), I mix it half and half with potatoes.
That’s what I do with turnips, I just pop em in the air fryer.I like to make them into french fries.
I bought some at Reasors a few weeks ago to put in with my roast, and they turned bitter. The raw chunks tasted like radish and not turnip. They were purple top globe variety. Maybe it was the extreme heat and drought this year.
