A little out of their league?
By David R. Guarino
Maybe John Kerry has a bit more Teddy Kennedy in him than he lets on.
The junior senator had a very senior senator moment yesterday at a Boston event when he mixed up the names of two famous members of the Boston Red Sox.
``Manny Ortiz,'' Kerry said when beginning a reference to the Sox.
The senator quickly corrected himself.
''Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz'' may be taking some time off for the All-Star Game, Kerry said, before noting that his campaign isn't resting through the regular baseball break.
Aides said the gaffe was a simple slip-up that Kerry quickly corrected.
But it did harken to Kennedy's bobbling of the names of fellow all stars, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire when the two were racing for the single season home run title several years ago.
