Has No Life - Lives on TB
Nothing special going on here, today. We got lots of thunder and rain yesterday afternoon. It was still raining when we went to bed. Nothing outside getting done. Just some light housework for myself. I've got more canning jars to wash. I've also got a cabinet in the bathroom that needs cleaning out and rearranged.

My Sam's order came in, and I've got all of that put away. There are some things I just like to buy in bulk. I save all those for a "once a month" order. I sent off another order to Blair for 2 pair of summer pants and one pair of capris. They should be arriving any day now. I love ordering from them. Most all of their clothing also comes in petite sizes and are a perfect fit for me. I also love their quality. I've been ordering from them for years. Since I'm a long time customer, I get a lot of special discounts. Always free shipping on my orders as an added bonus.

Still waiting on our new RAV4. The target date now is May 10.

I have lots and lots of clothes, but unfortunately most of them are too small. I'm very hopeful that I will get back into some of them, sooner rather than later. When I have something that I've not been able to wear but then I can its like finding an old friend.

Last year or was it the year before I bought some nice looking tops at walmart. They are too small, but about 10 pounds or so off and I should be able to wear them, did I say I'm hopeful. We don't get out much except to go to church, the VA and the grocery store.

Some of the tops I'm wearing right now i absolutely hate and when I can wear some other things, on the one hand I'd like to burn them, but on the other hand I'll probably take them to the thrift store. No sense in burning something some one else could use.

Last year or so I had a thread about bras. I ended up switching to a brand of sports bras that worked for me, and I was so happy to find them. But even those I'll be glad to be able to pass on to someone else.

I have a weakness for pretty clothes, and I have a lot of them, too. Some are fitting me a little tighter than what I like, so that's why I'm trying to lose 10 lbs., plus my Rheumatologist suggested it. I can still wear them, though.

I don't dress up too much just to go to the grocery store or TSC in small town. If we are going to make a big shopping day in big town, or Cary or I have a doctor's appointment, I do dress a little dressier. We always go out to eat afterwards at a nice sit down restaurant, and I like to look nice for that, too. I guess I was just raised to always look nice when I leave the house. Around the house, it's just work clothes, usually one of Cary's old over-sized shirts and a pair of leggings or sundresses in the summer. For our Sunday home fellowship/Bible study, it's "come as you are" as long as it's modest. No short shorts, mini skirts/dresses, and no string strapped tops. The men always know how to cover themselves.

As for bras. I hate them, and never wear one, unless I'm going in for a doctor's appointment. I wear camisoles, instead. I can't find bras that fit me, and I'm not paying the big bucks to have some sized just for me. I have a whole drawer full of bras that I've bought over the years that I thought would actually fit, but not a one has fit right, including the new one I bought a few weeks ago. Even sports bras don't fit right. I think it's because I'm so short. When I do have to wear one, it's a sports bra. They fit better than most.

I, too, was taught to not look like a slob even going to the grocery. Although I do around the house. In New Orleans I was careful what I looked like when I went out. Although at the last church I went to there I wore knee short, a t-shirt and flip flops and I didn't feel out of place. But here I did that one time and felt very self conscious and never dressed like that again. A nice blouse was fine with the knee shorts and flip flops. Lots of women eventually wore capries, so my shorts didn't stick out.

I'm glad I don't have to do the hose, heels and dresses anymore, I completely rebelled about that after Katrina, even at work. I do like to wear a nice blouse.
