I normally don't do beans. But I may try some this year. It will have to wait until I see how the planned plants fit in the garden. Since nothing ever actually goes according to the plan. But a lot of the veg mixes I use now have beans of one type or another thrown in.

I pulled the mulch on a second garden bed today. And put the remnant of the trampoline mat over it temporarily. I'll do another bed this afternoon, I hope. And then I can pull and cut another mat. That should, hopefully, provide ground coverage for all three garden beds. And that leaves 3 more large ones and 6 smaller ones to cover

If the medicine os working against the staph then it is very slow doing so. I'm continuing to take it but will call the doc on Monday. At that point I'll be a week into taking it. Son's medicine appears to be working very well. What little remained of the infection on his nose is now gone. He is being active and interacting more. And there have been words and conversations, of his type, for theast two days.

And I have decided that Morgan Freeman makes an absolutely scary bad guy. The old school bad guy who presents as a perfect gentleman but holds all the cards. Not a man I'd want to cross.

Been dealing with something at work for the last week. Looked like a client was entering expenses and bills incorrectly. I was waiting until boss got back from vacation to bring it up. Her other worker found it as well. So she's going to spend time next week removing all the expenses affected and reentering them. We just took over that part this past week, so at least it's only a month of work on the live account. But the cleanup bookkeeper has my sympathy because she's going to have to clean up two years worth of it. Basically expenses were getting double entered. What a mess.

Now to make a late breakfast and take care of some inside chores.

Oh, and the cast iron wok I got has proven to be wonderful. I use it several times a week now. It took me a bit to figure out things but son loves the meals.

Does anyone know what "speckled" butterbeans are? That's what they're called here in Mississippi and are what most gardeners grow here. Once they get mature, the beans are speckled, but most folks like them best, before they reach maturity and become speckled. They are too dry, once they reach that stage. I haven't been able to find seeds, unless they are called by a different name. You can also get them as climbers, which would help me out a lot if I can find them. Our local feed and seed store have been out so far.

Renee started a thread asking about purple lima beans. I think there are some speckled beans listed there but I don't remember the name at this point.

Just helped brother and roommate to fill their first planting buckets. 4 buckets for 4 super hot peppers. And his roommate wants to add more now that they've seen how to make the systems. I went for a design that my brother could maintain if his roommate disappears.

Taking an indoor break. And then lunch. Then I'll see what the body says.

I was asking about Blue Speckled pole limas that turn a solid purple when they are cooked.

These are usually picked and eaten while they are still a white to light green colored bean. They will eventually turn dark purple speckled if they reach full maturity, though. When eaten early, they have a sweet buttery taste to them and turn a greyish brown when they're cooked. They taste like dry beans if left to turn speckled, which most folks down here don't like. I've always picked mine as soon as the bean pods are filled out good, but before they fully mature and speckled. They are back breakers to pick, so I'm wanting the climbing variety.

That sounds like Christmas lima beans.

I can grow the limas and have the Dr Martin’s willow leaf. It’s the Sevia that I can’t get hold of. Thank you for your help!

You also might be thinking of Florida Speckled Butterbean... years ago I saw a large Speckled butter bean in North Carolina....when I asked the name...I was told Butterbean...lol...it may have been a cross of a couple of the Speckled varieties. ... I have never seen it again....it was excellent when cooked
