Cats, grand-dog, grandson all fed - along with a very brave ground squirrel that decided to join the party. He stuffed his face full of cat food and zipped off of the porch  I'm moving a lot slower than he did - but the coffee pot is about done doing it's thing, so I should be at least a little more zippy by the time I get a cup (or two!) down me.

Headed home today from KC. 3 weeks is the longest we have ever been away. Rig is almost packed. Took it to Charlie's a couple days ago and it looks great. Even if we are driving home e in rain.

Emptied fridge before I left so will make a grocery run when we get closer. Taking some Rufus Teague BBQ sauce from here cuz we can't get it at home.

Start working with 2 new clients tomorrow. Have 3 realtors and couple foundation companies coming out this week. Hope to list farm within 2 weeks. May do for sale by owner. Cpap machine has DH feeling incredibly better so maybe I will have help now.

Praying everything sells by end of March. Then I could actually draw SS early and start working on what I want to do instead of what I have to do. If we can get moved by spring I can have a garden.

Great to see you up early, Renee! Hope you enjoying retirement, my friend!

Patriotgal, I'm always so happy to get home after long trips! Good luck with the sale. If we had to move, it would be a multi-year process! DHs family has owned this spot for over 100 years, and it shows!

It started raining late afternoon with the temp at 71 degrees. Rained all night, and this morning it's still raining. High temp for today, 50 degrees. Rain forecast for the whole day. It's the time of year for us that we have these "yo-yo" temps every couple of days. Just when we think Spring is almost here, it turns cold again. Cary had to start a fire in the stove this morning.

The weather was so nice yesterday afternoon that I went out and pruned all my rose bushes. Cary did a bit of cleanup around the yard. We'll be putting out fertilizer around everything in a couple more weeks. We'll have to decide soon if we're going to have any kind of garden this year, too. Both of us are leaning against it, though. If we do decide to have something it will probably be a few yellow squash and tomatoes in a couple of raised beds.

We have absolutely nothing planned for this week, except normal everyday activities. I have a dentist appt. Feb. 20th. That is the only doctor appointment we have for the whole month. First time in a very long time this has happened.

Started pepper seeds today and am working on organizing/storing/listing Ebay items. The house (the cleanout one I've mentioned a gazillion times) had lots of cookbooks, including ones from a lady named Gloria Pitzer that did a newsletter about cooking/saving money in the 70s and early 80s - kinda like 'Tightwad Gazette', but not as hardcore. I found all her books in the house, along with some of the newsletters. I LOVE this kind of thing!

Today, I made a vegetable chowder with a box of scalloped potatoes as its base. It smells amazing!

Back to work.

This past week I modified the upper pasture water trough to allow the water level sensor to communicate with the pump house from just about anywhere in the pasture which will allow me to rotate stock through several quadrants. It used to have to be within twenty feet of the pump house since the level sensor was mounted in there and required the trough to be at the same elevation.

Visited TSC to pick up some extra tractor hydraulic fluid to have on hand in case the economy creates supply issues. Not that it's critical, since we have lots or excess organ meats for the dogs, but picked up a large bag of dry food while I was there.

I decided that it is time to look towards Fall breeding season and locate an appropriate buck for my goat herd... put feelers out to several goat herds for newly born buckling reservations from quality matings.

For the most part I've just been tending to farm maintenance since it's more time consuming doing normal tasks when working in the cold and snow. The desire to procrastinate and wait for Spring becomes enormous!

Busy day here! Got asked to help haul mulch and manure out to the community garden (others will move and spread it). That's about the last thing I ever thought I'd be doing in February, but today is more like the end of March, weather-wise.

I also did a little more fine-tuning of organization in the garage. Yes, I'm tired, but I still have a lot more energy than I did several months ago, so I'll celebrate the small victories.

Glad to see many things are going well for folks!

Meemur, I saw your post regarding garden food thefts when the SHTF and it reminded me to mention here that my NVG device came in Saturday such that theft issues will be diminished dramatically.
AKASO Seemor: AI Full-Color Night Vision Goggles

Nice device! We're going to do "something" -- I already have game cams at my house. No one who knows about them thinks they are invasive. They're set to watch the blind area behind the fence and shed. No one should be back in the first place, unless it's a neighbor chasing a chicken or someone from the power company checking the lines.

Teens were going back there and vaping. I don't care what teens do, but it was dry, and they were stupid enough to set the area on fire, so they needed to be told to go elsewhere, which they did.

Today I processed all my pumpkins harvested in the fall. 120 of them. Small, personal Sweetie Pie variety. I needed the space for other stuff. Cooked, peeled and pureed. Working that freeze drier to death this week. Amazing how little space they will now take up.

Also planning to rotate all my stored gasoline so I can Make Gas Jugs Great Again. I hate the nozzles so I got a bunch of old style nozzles and vents from Amazon. But it's been taking too long to finish the project so this week I'm on a mission to get them all emptied into our vehicles so I can work on them. My plan is to clean the outside of the tank real good, drill a hole for the vent, rip out that filter-thing in the neck and fill with new gas+Pri, label the thing and put them away all nice and lady-like.

Also got a battery powered transfer pump so I don't have to lift the dang thing. I'm happy just thinking about having all my gas cans done and easy to use.

Should be a normal steady week (as both God and I laugh!). Work, work, day off where I have storage crates being delivered and a followup with oncology to have them tell me what I already know (but it's good so it's all good), more work and work. In between, lots of prayer and trying to get a few other things set up to hopefully fill in more income during retirement. We'll see.

Praying for you, krysyan. Surgery is the easy part - you get to sleep thru it. But that next few days are ROUGH!

I have been warned. I will be in the hospital for the first say. And I'm completely free of any plans until Monday after that.

Tuesday I pull easy meal fixings for a week. They go in the inside fridge. And the plans are to get BBQ for Thursday. It also coincides with friend's days off, if need be. But honestly hoping that 4 days with no demands beyond basics will help me recover better.

And basics are as easy as I can make them. Cheater prep meal. Paper plates and cups. Disposable silverware. Even some foil pans for things that need to go in the oven.

We're going to be having beautiful weather all week with high temps in the mid to upper 60's. It's too soggy out to do any work outside, today, but the rest of the week has possibilities.

My goal for today is rearranging my meat freezer. While pulling out beef patties for cheeseburgers tonight, I found another freezer storage bag of cornmeal. I thought I had converted all of those to the other freezer. So, I'm going to make sure there is none left in the meat freezer. Might as well do some rearranging while I'm at it. I try to keep all the meat separated, chicken, pork, and beef, plus wieners, bologna, Polish sausage, etc. Each in its own space. I really do need to get dividers which would help me out a lot.

The sun has pushed the over cast sky out of the way, mild brisk temps.

I've got the laundry started and I also let the kitchen get on top of me again. I made another soup yesterday with smoked sausage, ground pork, cabbage and a few veggies. Seems like my favorite bullion is Knorr tomato chicken, although I do add a bit of beef bullion to the pot too and other seasonings. And my goodness it has gone up in price, good thing I have a stash.

Little by little I'm working in my office. Its amazing what you can get done in little bit at a time.

DH changed the shower head in the second bathroom, its the rain kind. Much nicer than the one that came with it. It was a gift from my brother after we had covid. Plus I have a shower chair with arms on it but thank God I don't need it, yet.

Keeping you in my prayers, Kyrsyan...

It has been a couple of pretty days in a row; 42*F now, but it is supposed to get up into the 50's - until early next week when snow is possible. I'll go out and enjoy the weather as much as I can today since I know that March is lurking in the background  we can get blizzards in any of the winter months, but March likes to taunt us with pretty weather and then BLAM!! - you're hip deep in snow! At least I am blessed not to have to be out in that kind of weather these days.

It has taken Cary and myself several hours just to sign me up for MediGap today by phone. Everything is set and ready to take off May 1st. My premium is going to be less than what I've been paying for my insurance coverage with Cooper Tire. My prescription drug plan premium will only be $0.50/ month. Still delivered by mail.

Rearranging my freezer wasn't as big of a job as I expected. I didn't find any more flour or cornmeal in it. Everything is now more organized, but I'd still like to get some dividers.

I'm glad both of those jobs are done.

I have two freezers ...an upright.... and chest freezer....I bought those new grocery bags at the store..... they stand up and have a hard bottom that pushes down...I used them in the chest freezer to organize the food ...they will sit on top of another so can stack them
The top one can be lifted out..with that hard bottom...best thing I have found so far to organize a chest freezer..

I use the Ikea Brattby bags. The work great. No more stuff on the bottom.that I can barely touch.
kyrsyan, prayers for you . May God guide your surgeons hand and may you have an easier than expected recovery. If you lived close to me ,I would bring you warm homecooked meals ,soups and breads to help you heal and feel loved, Virtual hugs from me to you
I am praying for that. Good surgery. Good recovery. Keeping fingers crossed.

A bit tired. Doing estimates vs bookkeeping is a bit like music vs math. And boss underestimated how urgently the client wanted this estimate back. So I maxxed today getting the framework made, which includes the list of supplies. Tomorrow I find everything and put in the prices. I'm keeping the laptop near so I can add materials when my brain pops them at me. I really need to start building his material database so this goes faster.

It honestly helps that boss is on vacation. Not as many interruptions. I can work faster without interruptions.

We did an unplanned trip to walmart. I had a small pick up that needed to be picked up by tomorrow. We went this afternoon. DH got the pick up and I went in the store. Just could not help myself I shopped my next list. It really wasn't all that much in the end. I found every thing I was looking for and a couple more things. Nothing really peeked my interest except what was on my list and the other two things I'd been thinking about anyway. I replaced the diced potatoes and mixed vegetables that I put in yesterday's soup. And I remembered to get some more box bottoms.

I only got one load of laundry done, I'll do more tomorrow, don't have a huge amount to do anyway.

That is a wonderful idea...thanks for sharing! I buy beef from a small processor in our community and she always brings my orders in those huge shopping bags you can get at Tractor Supply. They are so cute and I can never think of anything to use them for...they would be perfect in my small chest freezer.

Today was Monday, in every sense of the word. Tuesday and Wednesday are literally planned down to the minute. I think I am going to ask my oncologist if I can do a televisit.. She can't really 'examine' me - I can't open my mouth that much, and I was just scoped in November and MRI'd a couple weeks ago. And it would save me most of the afternoon. Thursday should be ok, but Friday I have to do a job I am not used to - with just a bit of training.

When is the weekend gonna get here???!!! And it's only Monday??!!

Praying for you Krysyan.

We did my entire contract job yesterday. I just need to fill out my billing invoices. We still have to dump the trash also, but the county yard was closed by the time we got done. Yesterday was a beautiful day to be outside all day. We don't always get this weather in February. The day we do my job is always planned around the weather.

Hubby wants to work on the wood pile. If he feels like doing that today. His back was hurting a lot last night even though I tried to do most of the climbing in and out of the truck. He helped where we picked up large parking areas and would park and walk.

I did some paper decluttering in the office. There is still more to do, but it's a start. It's just a big job.

I hear Hubby awake. We will have some coffee and plan our day.

Have a good day everyone

Another 65 degree day without rain. Cary wants to get back on the wood pile this afternoon. He also needs to cut up more firewood for the wood stove. We have plenty for the wood heater. Stove takes smaller pieces. He'll work until he gets tired, or his leg starts hurting him. It will be sometime in March when we have to decide whether or not he'll need surgery.

I'll be doing laundry and other household chores.

That's our plans for today.
