wouldn't be going anywhere near a large retail area with a SHTF and a pending worse one - even a Wally World retail store strip could get crazy - if you're worried about the SHTF - think how crazy the sheeple will become ....

you should know the local small store venues in the area - the small hardware, farm supply and auto parts stores - the small town convenience/gas stations - the independent outlets for SHTF related supplies - especially anyone that works/sells from their home/farm >>>> good chance anything you buy will be better than having the cash $$$ in your hand ......

If you keep a full pantry, and I do, why the need to run out at the last minute to buy stuff? Maybe I have a different idea about what a full pantry is.
Fresh stuff that doesn't hold long term. I had to grab more salad spring mix this week.

I'm done. Private client is done for 2023. Every receipt, including all of the last minute ones, are in. Now I can file my taxes. Because I won't file mine until my client's books are done and they can file.

Yep! I need to buy some sort of produce each week as part of my eating plan. Sure, I can switch over to canned food until the garden starts producing, and I have in past years, but I'd like to keep my canned food at the amount that it is now for awhile, and then I'll start using it, again.

Don't ever take a statin. Exercise with help to raise the good cholesterol. I never get mine checked any more, I never agreed with the doctors that tried to push statins on me.

Many years ago I had a well paying job, but it was also the job from hell because of my co workers. One day I was trying to read a lawyers hand writing and it was so difficult to decipher, I was straining to get it typed up and started having upper back pain that radiated to my chest. I had to lay down on the office floor. Someone got me a wheel chair and I ended up in ER. After it was determined that I was not having a heart attack the nurse came in with some meds for me to take and I asked her what they were. One of course was a statin, statins were being given out like candy. I refused it and the woman was completely shocked. I told her I would never take a statin. As I've said before I'm outspoken and I guess people are taken aback by it. I never give in. Among other things I also told her I need cholesterol for my brain. And guess what, now its being admitted that is in fact the case. Just a money maker and "they" wanted as many people as they could get on it. Sounds familiar.

I've kinda been back on my diet. Kinda in the respect that I'm not eating off of the foods on it just not like is recommended. I've not weighed but I'm not craving any sweets. And I'm not really hungry.
My wife and I both used lecithin to get our cholesterol in balance, in addition to reducing our intake of fried foods.

My doctor prescribed as statin for me three times, but I never filled it. My numbers were gradually coming into line. When they were in tolerance, I told him that I had never filled the prescriptions and what I had done instead. he said, it worked so keep doing it.

My wife was on a statin for a short time and reacted very badly to it. So did a friend of ours when she was put on a statin drug.

I would like to get off statin medication. I've talked to doctor about it but she feels the risk for stroke is too great to quit. Wish I'd never started on it. I've thought about going to every other day and then every third day for a month or three before my next physical and see if the numbers change. Lecithin sounds like a good idea if it works.

Every tried plant sterols which are the substance that is in abundance in red wine? Works for us. We also use coQ10 and lecithin.

This is a busy time of year for me so I have been scant for a bit. I continue to preserve our winter harvest. Carrot crop has been quite tasty this year! We continue to work from sun up to sun down as I am sure all of you are doing. Have been quite troubled by the Oregon war on home gardeners. Makes us review everything at our place. Spring on the homestead is fun with babies and gardens! Our biggest prep at the moment is community. Has always been a loosely associated group but becoming more refined.
Anyone ever grow sesame seed?

Oh just one more thing. John Deere Girl the root cellar has really worked out nicely for us. We will enlarge it this year I think. Only lost one cabbage and that was after 5 months of storage. Lost no sweet potatoes, white potatoes or turnips. We consider it a win win for the Deep South!

Your doctor is following in line with what they have been indoctronated to get people on statins. Its poison, do whatever it takes to get off of it. Research is your friend.

ETA: A second opinion would be good, only don't got to another doctor with the same attitude as the one you have now. Just saying.
