What should I be taking...

Am having surgery this Wednesday - joint replacement on my left thumb, so it's not like life threatening or anything.
I take multi-vitamins, calcium, selenium, MSM, Vit C daily - should I add anything to these to make sure I can fight off any infection, plus increase my healing ability?

Thanks,

squeeks

I would discontinue all of that, until after surgery. For my last surgery I was given a list of things to stop.

My first surgery, they didn't give me a list and I got bad edema after I got home from the hospital.

My recommendation would be to breeze this list past your surgeon. Usually they do not want you taking anything that will thin your blood thus hindering your clotting ability at least two weeks before surgery. AR

I agree...stop all suppliments before surgery unless your doctor tells you differently. Good-luck and fast healing!!
