I would break it down into small bills and add to my cash stash.
It's hard to have too many one-dollar bills. Since so many people seem to favor fives, tens and twenties, someone with a lot of singles might even be able to make a nice profit by simply making change for other people.

Too Tired to ReTire
Hmmm...

Not much other than ammo I could buy for $100 and that is not even a case of ammo..

My wish list of things that are way over $100 however include
1) Progressive Reloader
2) More Storage/Sorting Stuff for my stash
3) A good Antenna Analzer
4) a 1.5KW Linear Amplifier for HF
5) A multiband rig that will do SSB from 10 meters up through the GHz Bands
6) A good 40-40 meter band dual dipole on a tower with a good rotor
7) A very Good GPS Unit
8) Very Good Night Vision equipment

the list is endless, and $100 aint gonna cover it, so I guess I would spend it for gass money to get to the Great TB2K Shootout in Elko NV this July :rdog:

I have been prepping since the late 1960's and

to me that means ordinarily buying back up to products I use on a regular basis because I know I would want to include those in my day to day life if TSHF. I am talking about coffee - buy the large can plus one. I do that every month so I end up with 12 cans a year, minimum. On and on. You can do this too and you won't notice the cost difference much.Since I now live on SS I buy one item a month and double it....mayo one month (two jars), oatmeal another month, flour another month, etc. You get the idea but stocks add up fast and pretty soon you have a vast storage. I salt cheese blocks (two pounds) when I find them on sale...they last for years and years and just get better, etc. Good luck and God Bless!

I'd get a bunch of sprouting seeds, lentils and brown rice....YUMMY all the time and great as preps!!!

Honestly though right now...any extra money may be put aside to the "take ex back to court to force him to help provide for his children" fund.

This too shall pass.
If I had an extra $100 right now? It would go either to goat mineral (to get ahead on that) or to nursery stock -- more fruit trees and berry bushes. Or maybe seeds for the veggie garden.

I couldn't answer the poll.... as you wrapped the more preps in with ammo... I would not need that, but would invest in more coffee, pepper, salt and flour.

I would say ammo and preps assuming you already have a gun. I think water is probably the single most important thing because if a major nuke strike happened there would be no uncontaminated water. If you dont have any guns instead of the cheap russian rifle which i heard was a good gun, I would probably go with a shotgun just because you cant miss with one.

Can a shotgun miss

I would probably go with a shotgun just because you cant miss with one.
Why do you think that one cannot miss with a shotgun? Human beings are not tiny, wispy creatures like ducks, home-defense tends to mean close-range, and shot-pellets pattern in the form of a gaussian distribution -- meaning that the pellets cluster toward a center. A shotgun is not any-more likely to effectively hit a human target than a rifle is. A laser, and/or a fast-acquisition scope, on a home-defense shotgun is a good idea.

A shotgun is for short range targets...don't need sights or a scope on 'em. Just ask my Remmie; she'll tell ya.

Edited to add:

Ooopps! I forgot to answer the poll...buy more ammo (double aughts for Remmie) and prep foods(for me).

a brother in the Lord
been making a list, checking it twice,
need a humanure potty, need some more bags of rice,
gotta get ready to go to ground.

got plenty of winter boots, stuff that shoots,
grain to grind, rope to bind, hope i can find all the stuff that i've lost,
so when our last hope has been tossed,
we can still meet the invaders from town.

fruit and nut trees for spring, just in case we survive everything,
feed for the chickens, dogs to raise the dickens,
and cisterns deep when there's too much heat,
blankets to kill the cold - cause man i'm just getting old,
hope i can hold onto that last box of chocolate for myself:whistle:

Went with preps and ammo. But only because it was only one case of beer with the crappy CD's.

I can get crappy CD's really cheap, 'cause I like crappy music. But it takes more beer than a case to make it sound good over a given length of time....

Cheri, who would use most of it for the ammo, given the choice.

I would probably go with a shotgun just because you cant miss with one.

Acting on that assumption can get you killed real dead real quick.

Water would be probably the most important thing to get.

Could you please expand on that?

Buy the gun, and a can or two of as new as you can get ammo, test fire it, clean it, prep it for long term storage. Use it for a last ditch TEOTWAWKI gun. I mean, you'll be out what, 200 bucks at most?

I bought one of those mosin nangat (spelling) for about 80.00. Cleaned it up, new stock and it shoots pretty well for a last ditch effort kind of gun. And I bet it is as durable as hell. Its not sexy, bolt action, kind of clumsy, but hey it was a 100.00 and got some rounds, a synthetic stock all for 150.00 or so.
