If an Iranian in Syria has it, likely as not they're IRGC. If they're getting sick things are going to really get interesting.

They are getting ridiculous! Like little children who are plugging their ears and pretending that if they don’t say it, it doesn’t exist. It’s semantics. They can call it whatever word they want, but it’s not going to change the situation.

Unreal. I never thought I’d see the day when a true emergency is at hand and official government and UN organizations are tip-toeing around verbiage so as not to upset the masses.
It sure adds to the argument that we should get out of the UN because they are ineffective and downright dangerous to peace and prosperity.

TB Fanatic
Yeah in fact I am.

Because other things illnesses, and trauma events are still happening.

Imagine having a seizure and staying in the hospital for 22 hours, and the bill is 34,000.00. And you're going to get a bill, regardless.

You can say you won't pay it, Go ahead and try, then there will be collection agencies, and court costs who will add to that, and eventually your pay check will be garnished.

So have fun not having insurance.

BTW the ER has been doing your scenario for decades.
yes, in addition to coronavirus there are other illnesses and trauma that will continue to happen
and when the 900,000 hospital beds are full and the doctors and nurses are slammed 24/7 and the medical supplies run out
as has happened in China and Iran and Italy
you will probably continue to pay your insurance premium
Cyberiot starts dropping the effbomb.

WT Actual F??? Oh, yeah--and this week, we're calling all bananas "armadillos."

We're phooqued.
we are no more "phooqued" than we were a year ago because the WHO and CDC never had much more capability for epidemic in the past.
if you go back into this thread, you could predict this.

In many areas of the country, the hospitals are already at or over capacity due to the regular flu.

There are now 53 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in the United States, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday.

I'm guessing here, but I suppose that includes ALL the cases that have been reported.

Which means some of those cases are.....old. So questions:

Are they still in the hospital? Or where ever.

Have they been cured, or are they still being treated?

How long will it take for them to be cured/released once they have it?

L.A.B.

Goodness before greatness.
Optimism...
That shit will get you killed.

So in early December I was PINGING to accomplish a few essentials for a (((vibe))) that seemed imminent to intuitive’s and intelagent types. There was no specific overt threat that I heard of. I was just pressed internally to focused on not wasting time and staying as healthy as possible. Two good habits no matter what.

I found myself repeating over the last few months the metaphor of “Chinese finger trap” in relation to other-than topics as I used the term several times here @ TB2K.

On the home from within the L.A.B. household I refrained ‘best I could’ from presenting too much (((PING))) where no overt news-threat had yet to poke up its ugly head. In other words, I let cable TV get ‘my wife’s optimism’ in a right angle vector to reality. Her arrogant 26 year old plugged in know it all metro-millennial, ha-ha! ...That’s another project best left to his own experiences.

I’m not allowed to impress upon junior much. The helicopter mommie goes full screaming turbine on me any time I do. No less than three times I have gently presented the stone cold realities and responsibilities of dealing / living in a pandemic environment.

Junior and his Korean girlfriend... part-time concubine, have taken a hiatus the last 30 days or so. Junior say’s it’s studies, but I think the early December Asian news-stream May have had her family reeling her in too.

So night before last, Junior and his girl go out to dinner in K-Town; what else but his adopted cultures cuisine. I have attempted to clue him in to his dining out at their favorite Petri dish, but to no avail.

Yesterday he and the girl wake up with sore throats. Hopefully whatever he picked up ends their. I’m not optimistic about the impulsive nature of young gamers who think ‘they got this.’ I cringe and refrain from backhanding him every time I see him lick his fingers during dinner. In nine years, I’ve seen him wash his hands a handful of times. Funny, mom must have instructed him yesterday after I became aware of his sick dining habit and experience the night before. He actually washed his hands before he sat down to breakfast.

The young and entitled hubris is on a course set to ‘know it all’ on his vector to humility.

Stepping back here from optimism, all I see is pink talcum powder on the floor from mom’s and junior’s rose colored glasses.

On the bright side, I picked up 4-boxes of organic elderberry tea today at bargain price.

The herd is stirring. Mainstream media is covering Italy and the herd is no longer saying "We won't get it. It's over there". It's getting more real. The stock market today will certainly get the herd moving. In the next week or so the goods from China ,Dollar Stores in particular, should start getting thin as the warehouses use up their goods that are already here. The clue bus has arrived!

I'm still not seeing the gloom and doom that some are seeing. I am suspicious when Italy goes into lockdown for no apparent reason. In this case the fear will do more harm than the 'cold'. Not cool.

The "no apparent reason" is quite apparent. They don't have the hospitals, personnel, or medical equipment to cope with a mass infection of severely ill and severely contagious patients in respiratory distress with a nasty and virulent new bug. Knowing this, if they don't lock down, Italy could become Hubei 2.0.

The death rate can likely be kept to a minimum if you have optimal equipment, enough rooms, and enough medically trained personnel to deal with it. If you don't, or if the hospitals become overrun or even contaminated, that's a massive disaster.

Not really sure how you can get any more doom and gloom than that! Heck, even an asteroid or an EMP at this point would tell us exactly where we're at or wipe out humanity altogether. The unpredictability of this thing is what has people really freaked out.

Yeah, but we can't feed their entire nation. I don't know how it can get much worse over there. That said, I don't think they've hit bottom. That light at the end of the tunnel for the average Chinese citizen must look like the fading light of an almost dead single AAA battery flashlight.

I am at Costco and I can say that the herd is starting to wake up....

Took me almost 15 minutes to find a parking place on a Monday afternoon usually I could park right at the front. Half the parking places should be half empty and instead there is not a parking place in the entire lot front to back
Planning on a Thursday run there....what is the stock situation? What are they buying?

THIS IS FROM A LINK ON TWITTER. CAN'T VOUCH FOR IT. There's a photograph of a report written in Farsi (?) attached to the tweet. But it makes sense given how long it takes for deaths to show up...

I saw 3 carts with large 50# bags of rice and lots and lots of folks with can food. While at the pharmacy heard 2 people ask for hand sanitizer and masks. Other than that it could have been just regular Shopping, except for the amount of people. Most people have no idea what to buy I am guessing.

Everything looked well stocked

The only way you can get any sense of control is too, stop all travel. Not going to happen until it's too late. This is what the elite wanted. The point for years, was too do your education, and prep. Now the window has closed, and your in Gods hands.

"People are swarming the hospitals to get checked for the virus, even if they don’t have the symptoms," one person in Tehran told us. "They’re stockpiling food and staples and stores are selling masks at ten times the price.” #CoronaVirusInIran

I think Rush is throwing the Woo out there because like someone said, why hold back now? He has nothing to lose.

I’m listening to him every chance I get, (today is my only day off. Cooking, laundry, getting the week set up best as I can and feel comforted by his voice. I’m Really going to miss him :(

Well, Costco IS a “buy in bulk stock up “ kind of store anyway, so large amounts make sense. But who knows what that means seeing those 50# bags with a pandemic virus on the loose.

Is it woo? Hard to know now a days.
Speculation, not woo.

Nations like to play with the cooties they keep in their Level 4 labs. Nobody is investing billions in those facilities because they are trying to find a cure for TB. If you built the lab, it's because you can think of ways to use it.
Rush's economic speculation makes some sense (and, FACT...economic destruction is what is actually happening). Other speculations have some merit too. I can think of several possible motives and scenarios.

We will probably never know for sure, who did what.
