CORONA Main Coronavirus thread

Now running for Emperor.
Watched mainstream news tonight, seems the narrative has changed to if not when, severe disruptions expected, state of emergency in San Francisco. Why are they allowing the stampede now? Is this the precursor softening up the populace to restricted movement? State border closures etc? All thoughts appreciated as I ponder if when to call young adult children back to the ranch from their city lives 5 hours away.
If someone lives in a place like the images below, any emergency evacuation, or "Bugout", will take MUCH longer than folks realize - IF you even manage to get out of the city. Better a day early, than fifteen minutes late.

All that waste had to first come in at the delivery dock. When deliveries stop, there won't be nearly as much waste generated. Hmm

Now it seems as if some still are not taking this virus serious and thinking it will all be normal. Today I gave my notice at work, for in April when it gets warmer, am leaving and heading to the wilds to be for a long long while. Now when giving my notice, some thought this thing would all blow over and others could tell do not take this Coronavirus Seriouly. Guess they will learn when it's a pandemic here in the US, then it will be too late. Yes in talking to various people as of late, it is amazing me just how many do not take this very serious if even thinking about it at all.

Now the last few years have been working at a local Dollar Tree in town where now am the freight manager. For years from spring to fall have lived in the wilds here in the west. In giving my notice, am now preparing bigtime to head back into these wilds and live. Going to self isolate myself in the deep wilds here in NW Wyoming. This thing is coming here to the US, if not already here, and it is already becoming the next worldwide pandemic. It seems anymore that this virus is spreading bigtime. It is changing every single day and where it is now and the numbers that are occurring. How can some people remain soooo clueless. Guess when it is too late then some of the sheeple will wake up. Wishing Everyone the Best!

Nah... We just let the House Beast answer the door. He not much of a conversationalist, and, he doesn't know how to open the door. Plus, the geometry in the foyer makes him sound even larger than he already is. Uninvited folks tend to leave quickly.

Our main door used to have a glass pane about 4 1/2' up from the bottom. When someone managed to get to the door and knock without us being aware, we had a Ridgeback that would stand up and look out the window. I watched several people back off the porch, ha. We were told that when we weren't around that he also barked aggressively. I wonder how many people filled their pants.

A couple years back before my partner passed, and I moved to my kids property, we had chosen a sustainable life in the woods...large garden, fruit bushes, apple trees, etc. canned and froze lots. I hunted deer, grouse...fished. Anyway, and this is my point...:)...my sister and brother in law visited from the cities. We had built a large pantry in the basement, and it was well filled with OUR efforts. My brother in law meandered to the basement and found our pantry, even though it had a closed door. He proceeded to come up stairs, tell my sister all about everything in the pantry, and told us they would be coming to our house if things got bad...they and kids and grandkids. I heard the same statement from him the other day over the phone...even though I have much less now then we did then. It frustrates me to think they are of that part of society that thinks what is mine is yours! Anyway, I know lots of society is like that, it just ticked me off to hear the same thing coming from him, after all the "education" and help I have imparted to them over the years. I totally understand your head banging. LOL.

For all those who are saying "everyone is welcome," or just please bring some canned goods with you - these folks (parasites) won't get any nicer to be around in a prolonged crisis. If you let them in, and lock down happens, you are STUCK with them for an indefinite period...two weeks, two months, who knows.

Think about that.
No point in setting yourself up for eventually going postal.

No good deed goes unpunished. Our gates are always locked. The doors are locked. Our big dogs don't like strangers, and we screen all phone calls. Hate to sound like a bitch, but it's long past time to be nice.

Have had three Ridgebacks over the last three decades, looking for another now.
I was not into breeding them, so I'd look to save a couple $ when getting new pup,
going for good bloodline but pup with third crown or other minor cosmetic 'defect'.

Kids and pup Ridgeback grew up together, would herd them when toddlers up onto
porch if car came down dirt road. Then go meet car if it pulled into drive & stopped
and it would keep strangers firmly riveted inside their car till we'd come out.

Study: China Lied, Wuhan Virus Did Not Originate in Meat Market

Chinese scientists have concluded that the Wuhan coronavirus did not originate at a wild meat market as the Communist Party had previously asserted, the South China Morning Post reported on Sunday.

After weeks of the never-before-seen virus infecting people in the city of 11 million in December, Chinese authorities shut down the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, where people were allowed to sell wild animals for meat relatively freely, on January 1. Chinese officials did not make the viral outbreak public until January 20, so doctors at Wuhan hospitals did not properly isolate patients, exposing themselves and sensitive patients to the virus.

Chinese officials insisted that the evidence suggested the new coronavirus jumped from animals to humans at the Huanan market.

“The origin of the new coronavirus is the wildlife sold illegally in a Wuhan seafood market,” Gao Fu, director of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told a briefing in January, shortly after Beijing announced the outbreak. Gao’s agency claimed as evidence that, of 33 samples taken from early patients that month, 31 were directly traceable back to the part of the market where individuals sold wildlife for eating.

Now, a joint study released Thursday by Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Institute for Brain Research concludes that “the SARS-CoV-2 source at the … market was imported from elsewhere. … The crowded market then boosted SARS-CoV-2 circulation and spread it to the whole city in early December 2019.”

Caixin Global noted in its report on the study that it has yet to be peer-reviewed, a process many in academia deem necessary to confirm that a study’s findings are legitimate. It detailed how the study traced the origins of the virus in 93 different samples. If the virus had originated at the market, all samples would have been traceable there, but the researchers found otherwise:

The study’s estimate for when the virus started spreading is the earliest yet on record, suggesting that the virus may have first begun spreading in Wuhan as early as November 2019. It condemned the Chinese communist regime for failing to alert residents earlier about the outbreak to ensure that people took safety precautions, particularly at crowded events and in hospitals: “If the warning [after the market shut down in January] had attracted more attention, the number of cases both nationally and globally in mid-to-late January would have been reduced.”

“The study concerning whether Huanan market is the only birthplace of SARS-CoV-2 is of great significance for finding its source and determining the intermediate host, so as to control the epidemic and prevent it from spreading again,” the scientists noted.

The latest study joins a much earlier one published in the medical journal The Lancet in January, which also called into question the official claim that the Wuhan wildlife meat market was responsible for the outbreak. That study found a case in which a patient with no links to the market got sick on December 1, one of the first to be identified as a patient. Of the 41 patients studied, 13 did not appear to have any connection to the market.

Huang Chaolin, one of the doctors who wrote the Lancet study, told the Chinese state news agency Xinhua that the new case did not necessarily mean that the virus did not originate at the market, but that there may be more than one source responsible for the spread of the disease.

The Lancet study did not prevent a frenzy to identify the wild meat allegedly responsible for the virus, resulting in a wide variety of theories on whether bats, snakes, mice, badgers, or other pests could have carried the disease. As there is little supervision in what sorts of animals people bring to the market and most are killed live on site, even confirmation of the market as the source of the virus would leave many questions unanswered. Dr. Emily Landon at the University of Chicago explains:

Adding to the initial confusion were reports on video allegedly showing the Wuhan market, but instead showing locations elsewhere in Southeast Asia that had no known ties to the coronavirus outbreak.

China is nonetheless considering a nationwide ban on wild meat to prevent other potential outbreaks. The Communist Party has yet to address the most recent study potentially absolving the meat market.

At press time, global health officials have identified 79,544 cases of coronavirus worldwide, most in China, Over 2,600 people have died after being diagnosed with the virus. For weeks, Chinese officials reportedly denied patients with clear coronavirus symptoms the testing kit necessary to confirm the outbreak, suggesting the number of cases in the country is much higher than what government officials have documented.

Which means it took about THREE MONTHS from the time it was "let loose" until ti started reaching EPIDEMIC levels in Wuhan..........

Well I am going to pick up 50 pounds of rice, dry beans and some sugar for her and if they come calling that is what they get. They are adults and they made their decisions on what to get or not so I'm fine with it.

I've gotten that same 'threat' few times over last 20 yrs, too.

My comment back to them is that they won't be able to get
anywhere near our place at that time without the 'password'.
"The Password? What password, what are you talking about?"
Then, I'll hold my hands up to my mouth, like I'm yelling from
afar slowly; "I brought all my own food!" Then, I'll just smile
as it dawns on them we are not going to be open for them to
freeload off of. Some then said something like that it doesn't
sound very Christian, etc.. I respond that my lifeboat has only
enough room & supplies for my family. And, that I've already
done my Christian duty warning & urging you to also prep for
your family, too. If you don't, that's all on you now, and as for
my conscience, it's free & clear!

Absolutely NO panic shopping at Kroger tonight and on top of the recent virus developments?? ... we have snow coming in too!!! I was glad for the relatively quiet crowd in there.

I did a top off trip.... best as I could do after working 12 hours today. Dead tired.

Honestly, I saw people staring at my haul like it was something bizarre!!

I almost let normalcy bias overcome me and felt a little silly... then it passed pretty quickly, lol!

Just went to Wally world in Louisiana, not 1 person had more than 2 days worth of junk food, and the lady who bought the 2lb bag of rice looked at me crazy when I grabbed 40 and then 20 bag of beans, lol. So nobody around here watched the news I guess. 5 pack of dust masks are .99 there and probably 50 packs left after i got some. Better than nothing.

Chinese authorities heavily spray disinfectant on people and cities to halt spread of coronavirus

(NaturalHealth365) As promised, we’re back with the latest coronavirus update based on the current news about what the Chinese government has decided to do to “control” the spread of this deadly virus. No doubt, when you watch the videos (below) – you will be shocked!

Officially named COVID-19, the coronavirus has currently infected over 77,000 people, and over 2,300 people have lost their lives as a result of grave complications caused by the virus – including pneumonia, kidney problems, and severe acute respiratory infection, or SARI.

Among the dead are two former passengers of the infamous cruise liner Diamond Princess, which made waves in last week’s headlines (no pun intended).

Officials all over the world are ramping up their frantic attempts to control the spread of the virus – for instance, by barring travel and putting entire cities in China on lockdown. And we’re sure many of you have been as astounded as we’ve been by the chilling, dystopian-like videos and photos coming out of China, which show trucks and men in hazmat suits spraying disinfectant everywhere.

What are these chemicals – and will they even stop the virus?

What is the Chinese government spraying over its population?

Video footage all over YouTube is truly shocking! What began as massive chemical sprays over Chinese towns and cities on lockdown has devolved into men dressed in full hazmat gear walking into buildings and spraying disinfectant inside – with people mere feet away.

Reportedly, these solutions contain a mix of bleach and water. But it’s impossible to know exactly what’s in these chemicals or what the environmental and health impacts will be.

Of course, we can’t exactly say we’re surprised to see such extreme measures. COVID-19 is so incredibly contagious that we are now seeing infected people become “superspreaders” of the disease. For example, a single 61-year-old woman from South Korea has infected least 37 others from her church.

Prior to making others sick, the woman had allegedly refused to be tested for COVID-19 – even though she was exhibiting signs and symptoms including a fever.

Her reason? She hadn’t recently traveled abroad.

Severe travel restrictions initiated to and from China
According to the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, there is a Level 4 travel advisory in China right now – the highest advisory possible, rated as “Do Not Travel.” “We strongly urge U.S. citizens remaining in China to stay home as much as possible and limit contact with others, including large gatherings,” the Bureau of Consular Affairs writes on their website.

They have even more sobering advice: “Consider stocking up on food and other supplies to limit movement outside the home. In the event that the situation deteriorates further, the ability of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates to provide assistance to U.S. nationals within China may be limited.”

Meanwhile, the United States is temporarily closing its borders to anyone who’s been to mainland China within the past two weeks.

If there’s one thing to takeaway from today’s coronavirus update, it’s this: even if you aren’t planning on traveling any time soon, you still need to be cautious. We know that thousands of people all over the world have fallen ill from this disease even though they haven’t done any traveling themselves.

And if you are going to travel – especially by air – keep these tips in mind:

  • Stay away from people who are showing signs of an illness, including coughing and sneezing
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • If you’re using hand sanitizer avoid handling receipts, as these products appear to increase the amount of BPA chemicals absorbed through your skin
  • And, above all, avoid processed sugars and maintain the healthiest (organic) diet possible – to keep your immune system strong!
One final note: should you bother with a face mask? Be warned: there’s no evidence that regular masks actually stop the spread of coronavirus.

This is because surgical masks aren’t made with material that’s rated to keep out viral particles and, unlike thicker N95 respirators, they don’t tightly fit against the face. A N95 respirators can protect against COVID-19 – but if people start buying these masks en masse … there may be a shortage.

Consider that there are folks here who work in situations that they have not shared widely which give them access to a LOT of "offishul" information. Some of which MIGHT include forward looking planning for __________________________(go ahead. fill in the blank. I'll wait)_________________________________.
And 99 and 44 one hundredths percent of this info is NOT sharable under any number of penalties which couls permanently shut down ones freedom of movement etc (as Troke says metaphor there).

Now I have seen several people here sharing on Corona Chan who I'm pretty sure fir into the set above. And SOME who I KNOW fit.

One might consider what helen says to be of the kind of non-sharing that would be expected in this historical instance.

I can't (CLEARLY) say that she has knowledge of plans, but remember the Melodi indicated that SHE had read the Nuke War Preparation plans in ref the Post Office...
