ACROSS AMERICA — All motor vehicle departments in the United States went down Thursday, according to officials in multiple states.

Officials in Illinois, Virginia, Massachusetts, Arkansas and Colorado all confirmed they experienced an outage.

"We are currently experiencing a nationwide network outage at our DMV facilities," tweeted Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias. "All DMVs across the country are currently down."

Virginia's DMV said the outage stemmed from "a third-party technical outage," and that driver's license services were unavailable online and at all in-person locations.

"We apologize for the inconvenience. Please stay tuned to social media for updates," the agency said.

Massachusetts said it couldn't process any license or ID-related transactions due to the system outage.

"We are working to resolve this interruption with the service provider," the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles tweeted.

Colorado officials said they're reaching out to people who have an appointment at a state driver's license office to reschedule appointments due to an outage with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.

"Most driver license services, including online options, are affected, except driver license knowledge tests, endorsement tests and Commercial Driver’s License instruction permit tests, as well as scheduling hearings and requesting motor vehicle records," the Colorado DMV said in a release.

Officials in that state said there was no timeline for when services would be restored.

However, officials in Virginia and Arkansas later said their systems were back up and running.

"Transactions are once again processing," the Virginia DMV said. "We appreciate your patience while this issue was resolved."

"The database issue has been resolved and all state Revenue Offices are operating normally," the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration said.

This is a developing story. Hit refresh for updates.

It's called "repopulating the database." One looks to the last previous back-up and uses that. Then they search the wastebaskets for those entered since the last back-up and do the mean work of "re-entry" for those.

And SUDDENLY - a whole lot of "waste" is found under tables and in boxes. In every state participating.

And there appears to be a LOT of states. You can be sure that "swing states" are likely included.

Ruby Freeman is suddenly in her glory AGAIN.

And they have the "massive influx" of "Migrants" to take blame for the step-change. The "Biden F." (for fraud)

"Plausible Deniability."

At least the DVMs have a legit reason for pp service instead of incompetent employees.

This outage is but one of several that have happened lately, concentrated in discreet data sectors. It's like somebody, some group, is either probing weaknesses or going sector by sector and adjusting data.

It's important, no matter if it's the DMV or anything else affected en masse like this.

Sorry if I seem taciturn. It ain't you.

I’m the guy that’ll find humor in a foxhole that’s being over-run by commies and we’ll likely die in the next wave, but don’t think I ever underestimate the situation

Is the Patch a reliable news source? I can’t find this story anywhere else but that wouldn’t be a shock considering the current state of journalism.

Georgia Department of Driver Services site says
SAVE is down impacting certain documented customers.
I have no idea what SAVE is but clearly a problem here in Georgia.

I wonder if data bases were altered so that illegal alien licenses could not be recognized, like Florida intends to do.

I just realized this doesn’t say impacting certain undocumented customers.

(I won’t feel the need to entertain you)

Fart jokes are mainstream! Watch the Gilstrap videos. They will butter your biscuits. They are hilarious and seem to have almost universal appeal.

My head went the other way, seems to me to possibly be an opportunity on the cloud end of that bit of the network to issue their choice of state driver's licenses without the usual scrutiny that the states would normally do. Just sayin.....
