This Winter Storm Will Be Dangerous...

In this weather forecast, we are breaking down another WINTER STORM that is coming to the USA. These will impact areas like the Southern Plains, Mississippi Valley, and Ohio Valley. This weather pattern is a part of El Nino, which will lead to more active weather in the Southern Tier of the USA, while the Northern Tier will be quite inactive. This will lead to some snow events, showers and storms, and perhaps severe weather. Find the latest details of the weather across the United States in our latest weather forecast.

My heart is with you, Southerners. I know that the twenties feel like the sub-zero stuff does to us and your cities and towns don't have huge piles of salt and sand to spread on the roads. You rarely need it! Stay safe! Wishing everyone the best!

The problem with "winter" in the south is that they still have humidity, which makes the cold feel very raw. Here our humidity is quite low at the moment and it makes your face hurt, but it doesn't feel like the wind is going to cut right through you... unless you're not wearing proper winter gear that is. First time oc went home with me for xmas, after we got married, it took him forever to get warmed up, it was a wet nasty cold, not a dry cold.

So true. It's 30 degrees right now, but the humidity is at 53%. That makes for a wet cold. It's that kind of cold that goes straight to the bone. The real feel temp is at 20 degrees right now.

Oh, I lived not far from where you are now and had close to 50 years of this kind of "fun" before moving south. Husband grew up in Cleveland. We're no strangers to it. Just DO NOT like it and will bitch every time it happens, ha! Never did like winter, even when I was a kid.

Well. Unless work covers my disability and/or pays for my funeral AND/OR CAR. I’m not driving in on ice for crap. They might send me a nice card, but it’s just not worth it to be paralyzed or worse because “your patients need you; what about your coworkers? Well sorry, I don’t play blackmail. Oh? You’ll come pick me up? I want a paper from your attorney saying any injuries or disabilities that may be incurred will be covered by the company. Sorry Jack, I play no games. You “rich” management ppl who received bonuses get in there and do it. And I’m ready to say bye bye bye if you’d like. This old girl has learned her lesson about risking it all for people who don’t give a crap.

We did get a quick snow shower yesterday around 9:30AM and gave us a 1/8 inch covering of snow which melted away by 12:00 there was lots of wind for most of the day.
The weather has changed we are now under a winter weather watch and slated to get 3" to 4" inches of snow but this looks like a three day weather front with a drop in temperature out to Wednesday, right now we are at 22 degrees and there are lows forecast down to 13F but I expect to see 10 degrees or lower this week and within the norms for this time of year.
Darn right the wood stove is going and just reloaded it too, I have to sit here and watch it for a half an hour and go back to bed.

It's 18 degrees with the real feel temp at -3* with snow and ice coming down here in NE MS. Our high today at 21* with the real feel at 12*. Winter Storm Warning in effect until tomorrow.

Our wood stove and wood heater are going, with a big pot of homemade taco soup simmering on the stove.
