Well, there aren't many basements in Arkansas, and I, myself, am sitting on perhaps 180 feet of limestone, so I won't be underground if all this happens. Not in the way he means we should be. But I'm sure I'll be 6 feet underground by then, though, at least figuratively speaking, so I'll miss the big event.

This last podcast really is VERY disturbing and he sure doesn't sound like the same person, does he?

We don’t have basements here in Las Vegas either. I’m really hoping to be out of here soon. I don’t think Sin City is where we want to be when things really start to go south. And you are right. Diamond sounds very serious recently.

Just FYI - I got a seed catalog in the mail yesterday from R.H. Shumway, out of Wisconsin. I've had good luck with the limited things I've bought from them in the past.

And I bought and canned up 5 quarts of White Potatoes this time, not Russets. Wow, what a world of difference!! The russets turned to mush and looks like white pudding or something in the jars. I won't throw them out though... like you all have said, I'll use it for soup or potato cakes or something. These new, White ones are gorgeous. LOL Whole potatoes and the water in the jars is even clear! So I've learned my lesson (maybe) hehehe.

And thanks for always posting the videos, etc. I never hear the majority of these things anywhere else!

I got a Vermont Bean Seed Company catalog in, I think, early November, far earlier than ever before, but no Totally Tomatoes catalog , which they have ALWAYS sent at the same time.

I wanted to order Horseradish root and mangel beet seeds, but I'll just do without. I can find what I need of other seeds in my own stored seeds or, hopefully, in town this spring.

I used to order from Shumway all the time. I loved that old-timey looking catalog! But they suddenly stopped sending one to me even though I ordered from them nearly every year. And they ignored my requests for a catalog three years in a row while at the same time, they sent one to my brother who never ordered from them in his life, when he requested one.

The slow climate slide continues into the next glacial advance

December 28, 2019 by Robert

Frozen Rivers and canals in Northern Europe during the Little Ice Age wiped out cereal production in Iceland and caused famine in France, Norway and Sweden.
______
The slow climate slide continues into the next glacial advance

J.H. Walker

Frozen Rivers and canals in Northern Europe during the Little Ice Age wiped out cereal production in Iceland and caused famine in France, Norway and Sweden. Colder winters meant denser wood, which contributed to the superior tone of the Stradivarius violin.

The starting Wolf Grand Solar Minimum not only caused famine by wiping out cereal production in Iceland and horse livestock, but also prevented normal fishing from taking place because of months of massive sea ice around Iceland.

The same winter ice conditions affected Greenland far more savagely, ending all farming practices, decimating the population, and forcing the survivors to flee southwestwards to Newfoundland, leaving Greenland the province of the Inuit and polar bears.

Greenland has not returned to its Medieval Warm Period capability of supporting Icelandic farming for the last 900 years. The slow climate slide continues into the next glacial advance coming to the Northern Hemisphere in a not too far away horizon.

Low magnetic field strength linked to both extinctions and evolution

December 28, 2019 by Robert

New paper confirms what I said in both Not by Fire but by Ice and Magnetic Reversals and Evolutionary Leaps, that low magnetic-field strength during magnetic reversals can trigger both extinctions and evolution.

Unfortunately, magnetic-field strength is now declining rapidly.**

_______

New fossil finds, improved fossil dating, knowledge of the past strength of Earth’s magnetic field, and refinements in the human evolutionary tree, suggest a link between ultraviolet radiation (UVR), magnetic field strength, and mammalian evolution, says a new paper by Channell and Vigliotti.

The earth’s magnetic field shields us from galactic cosmic rays and solar wind, and from harmful UVR. During magnetic reversals, that protection declines.

NASA-Magnetosphere-Sm.jpg

Over approximately the last 200,000 years, evolutionary changes corresponding to low geomagnetic-field strength support the proposition that UVR that can affect mammalian evolution by influencing DNA and Y chromosomes.

The demise of the Neanderthals about 41,000 years ago can be closely tied to low magnetic-field strength during the Laschamp magnetic excursion, and the survival of anatomically modern humans can be attributed to the evolutionary response to UVR flux.

Fossils in Australia and Eurasia from about 40,000 years ago, close to the Laschamp and Blake magnetic excursions, record an important die‐off of large mammals that included Neanderthals in Europe.

In the Americas and Europe, a large mammalian die‐off occurred about 13,000 years ago. Both die‐offs can be linked to low magnetic field strength implying that UVR flux variations to Earth’s surface influenced mammalian evolution.

Magnetic excursions have been named after the location where they were initially recorded such as Mono Lake (34 ka), Laschamp (41 ka), Blake (~115 ka), Iceland Basin (190 ka), and Pringle Falls (211 and/or 238 ka).

At least seven magnetic excursions have been documented in lavas and sediments of the last 300,000 years.

See entire 43-page paper, “The Role of Geomagnetic Field Intensity in Late Quaternary Evolution of Humans and Large Mammals:”

Thanks to Richard Allen for this link

** Note: When I wrote Not by Fire but by Ice, the earth’s magnetic field strength had been declining five percent per century. Now it’s declining five percent per decade!

In the meantime, all our snow (southwestern NY state) melted by the day after Christmas, we had temps in the mid 50s for 3 days, and it looks to me like we're following the same pattern as the last two years, where the seasons seem to have actually moved ahead (with "seasonal weather" showing up about 1 month later than what we've come to expect in over 40 years here.)

It's absolutely fascinating to me to observe how the systems are- by and large- again missing us... they slide by just to our south and then move back into the state once clear of us to the East. Don't get me wrong... we still get plenty of snow (684" total in the past 3 winters!), but we're definitely seeing noticeable change in the weather patterns.

Surviving the Super Grand Solar Minimum

What if we are on the wrong boat?

Sorry, but if you are looking for pretty cute pictures of cats or puppies in this blog I would suggest that you hit the big X at the top of your browser window or not.

Here are some what if's

What if global cooling is actually happening?
What if there is a coming Ice Age?
What if we will soon see global crop failures because of climate extremes?
What if the planet is actually warming?
What if we do nothing?
What if you do nothing?
What if I do nothing?
Will the world not even have a boat to sail on soon?

From my present thoughts to your head if you read it!:

There are some very crazy things happening lately. We are starting to see more earth quakes along the west coast of California up to North West Canada. California is starting to rumble more lately.

It is looking like we will have a 2019 / 2020 winter and spring similar to 2019.

Politics recently took madness to another level here in the US.

Australia is burning up literally.

The Chinese government is looking for more food to feed it's people. Pigs are dying and the death is spreading.

Cosmic Rays are increasing and there are more clouds.

Food is getting more expensive and there has been some failure in seed and potato production. Some crops like potatoes and sugar beets are still in the fields under snow. Same with some corn. We are just starting to see the effects of the solar minimum we are descending into and in the coming years should continue to express it larger and more destructive effects on food production and availability.

People are still asleep because there is beer and pizza in the frig.

The grumpy old man who writes this blog is retiring from the madness of making microgreen deliveries all week. Hopefully I can quit before a beer truck runs me over.

It looks like we have broken records for low sunspot numbers in 2019, and as we go into 2020, the new cycle may be beginning. I suspect it will be as weak or slightly weaker then the one that is ending.

In 2012, the world will finally wake up to the fact that there will not be be enough food to feed the planet. The poor will suffer the most from this realization. Actually the poor always suffer for most everything except for the goodness of peoples hearts. If you and I are not careful we could all become part of the poor. If taxes and prices continue to increase this will eventually become a reality for all of us. Another good reason to start growing your own food.

After the end of 2020 Canada and a large part of the US will loose the ability to produce enough food to produce a surplus. At that point what food we grow will be the food we are eating and there will be no surplus. China will purchase as much food and pork as they can possibly purchase and company's will sell it to them even if it makes it unavailable or too expensive for the US consumer.

Food packaging will continue to shrink (shrink flation). Grocery stores because of transportation and food stuff availability may at most have 8 hours of food available at any one time and it will all be in and on the shelf's not in the back of the store. I have walked around in the back of many large grocery chains. I can tell you that there is little on no food stored in the back. The only time that it is that way is when it is unloaded from trucks. At that point it is then moved to the shelf's. This is the Just in Tine food system (JIT) that minimizes the amount of food a company has to purchase and have on hand for it's customers. Any time that there are no deliveries (say during flooding or hurricanes), then the shelf's will become empty. So in any kind of disruptions be it financial, geophysical or other types to the JIT will end in food shortages. While this is very efficient for the grocery stores, it is not ideal, and will not provide a backup in case of disruptions which ultimately will effect the consumer.

While Gold and Silver may be a good hedge against inflation in the coming years, it will only be a good investment for a short period of time. At that point most will keep their Waltham squash and let others eat their gold and silver. When it is all over food will be the new currency (if you can keep it). Another good reason to become your own food banker!

Unless they perfect better batteries, electric cars will not work in arctic temperatures.

Wind and Solar energy will become the most useless energy source on earth when it gets cold and the sun does not shine and turbines don't turn because of ice or no wind. Makes the mental image of freezing in the dark a real thing. Good luck Australia!

As our earths magnetic field weakens and our sun cools, it will become very easy for the sun to take out the global electrical system.

Our weakening and wandering magnetic field may end up flipping. This mostly always ends up in a period when species becoming extinct if you look at paleo data. The dangerous thing about magnetic pole flips is that towards the end, the magnetic field gets very weak and at some point will approach almost zero. At this point the whole earth is exposed to outside radiation from outside our galaxy and from the sun. Not a good time to be outside and incredibly harsh on any living things.

If all the above were not enough, they may be even other really bad things coming down the global river. See the two YouTube URLs at the end of this blog, Think Ice Ages, Micro Novas and Galactic Waves!!

As I have said over and over, we really live in interesting time. From the start of all this in my mind, this has never bothered me and if the outcome means I am no longer part of the living breathing people on this earth it will have been worth the ride.

There are so many good things we can do as humans. What you do now may indeed have a lasting goodness that blesses many in the future. There are so many wonderful things available to all of us. Wonderful music, sweet food and honey and the amazing sun rises and sunsets that grace our every day. A laugh from our children and the whiskers of my cat make me smile as she rolls overs and wants to play, and gets mad when I move her over when I go to bed. There is almost an endless array of people to meet, talk with and care about. We have been blessed with global warming for the past 300 years which if we choose gives us the ability and technology to face what is coming and survive.

It's only a choice, a simple sweet choice to choose love, family and community.

Only the sick or selfish or evil would choose something else or choose to do nothing.

This is the world you and I will have to live in. There is no escape but death, and useless death is a waste of the human spirit. We are all guilty for permitting what this world has become. Don't you think it's time to turn around and make it a world we can all be happy in?

Life is a million choices and some of those choices are much more important than others. There are two huge unmovable choices that humanity will have to make soon. Will we choose love and life or will we choose certain death. This is an amazing time and I cherish it as no one will ever again get to make such an important choice as it will be global and NO ONE will be left out.

We will live through all of this and each of will have that choice to make. What will be your choice? I choose life!

Cheers from Central Texas
Dennis

As I've said before.....most disturbing.

I honestly don't spook easily, but I will admit freely that this one podcast - to me - made it all come together....GSM, volcanoes, magnetic field shifting, earthquakes, etc. I will also add in the study of ancient history...one of our family members is an 'ancient' at the Master's/Doctorate level. That has long been a curiosity for me and something I've studied on a personal level (not academic level) for most of my 65 years - what happened to all the past civilizations that caused their downfall and took with it most of their history. It isn't just as simple as war, famine, pandemic, etc...I always thought there had to be a much, much larger driving force behind it all.

This is just my personal opinion, and everyone's mileage may vary, but I believe this is likely it. It isn't just a GSM event we're facing, the GSM is just a small component of massive planetary change that will once again wipe modern history, or much of it. Civilization will begin anew again.

TxGal, it all came together for me with one of the podcasts a few days ago, where he mentions Barnard's Star and one of the Centauri's (Proxima maybe?) and how they flared when they went through the galactic current sheet and how we're about to pass through that sheet. In a way, though, I've known for a long time that something far more extreme than we were ever taught was responsible for the lack of historical records both natural and manmade. And I think there have been more than just these regular periodic events.

I live in the outermost area of influence of the New Madrid Zone and I live near a nuke plant, and downwind of it much of the summer (until recent years when we don't seem to get much summer breeze from the southwest any more.)

I didn't know about any of these things 40+ years ago when I moved here. I tell myself I could pull up stakes and relocate if I were young and healthy, but that's not true, since if I were young and healthy I'd still be working at least 40 hours a week and probably far more, and would have no time or money to relocate.

I'm not going to lie down and give up, but I AM going to face facts about my chances of surviving such a scenario as Diamond is showing us, and as things are now, those chances are pretty much non-existent. And I'm not really all that likely to be around even for the opening events, let alone the whole program.

Am watching the IAF podcast right now. He mentions that some Chinese banks are giving out a piece of pork as a gift when someone opens a new account.

Do I remember years ago banks here were giving things like toasters as free gifts for opening an account?

I put down strips of discarded trucking tarps when I had my big garden and he is right, doing this makes weeding almost unnecessary. When I also mulched with straw around the plants themselves, there was practically no weeding at all and only half the watering even in the hottest weather.

If I ever get to the store again, I'll have to check the vegetables. This Adapt 2030 podcast is showing shelves again having the little notices on them about vegetable unavailability. But this time it isn't giving a date when the shortage is expected to be over. There's mention in the comments about canneries closing for lack of product. Didn't take until summer this time!

I was surprised to see that. Made me wonder if that has anything to do with the missing green beans at Costco....

This would be great if you have the "buckage" and make it a dome for wind resistance.

An Adaptable, Light-Filled Home.
The glass construction around the wooden summer house allows them to enjoy their beautiful ‘outdoor’ terrace no matter what the weather. They actually removed a part of the roof of the original house in order to create a larger area for play, rest and relaxation. They have a swing and a basketball hoop set up for their young children, and there is even enough space for the boys to ride their bicycles!

Marie speaks enthusiastically about how the greenhouse protects them from wind, rain and storms as well as keeping the cold at bay. She says that they no longer suffer from the ‘bad weather blues’ in the way that many of her neighbors do. As the interior house is so well protected from the elements, they only need to treat the wood construction with with a layer of natural linseed oil, avoiding the use of any chemical products.
Natural Temperature Regulation.
The solar energy that the house captures means that there was no need to install thick insulation, as is common practice in Sweden. As well as this, the family are no longer dependent on excessive, energy-consuming heating. They have their own store of wood and a simple wood-burning stove to provide additional heat on the very coldest winter days. Marie says that they take a “realistic” approach, and expect to put on warmer clothes on colder days, understanding that their natural home will have some natural temperature fluctuations.

Charles talks about how the house heats up effectively with just an hour of sunlight, and in January when outdoor temperatures can be below 32°F, their home within the glass is a comfy 59°F-68°F. In the warmer months, the glass roof has an automatic opening which releases heat when the atmosphere goes above a certain temperature. Balcony doors and windows can also be opened by hand to get the air flowing, making the house adaptable to the demands of summer too.
A Bountiful Home Harvest.
The footprint of the greenhouse is nearly double the size of the interior home, which gives plenty of space for a beautiful wrap-around garden. This allows them to make use of the greenhouse’s traditional function – that of growing plants. Charles and Marie are able to cultivate crops that would otherwise be impossible in the cool Swedish climate. They enjoy regular harvests of grapes and figs, as well as being able to extend their vegetable growing season and have success with heat-loving crops such as cucumbers and tomatoes.

A Self-Sufficient Approach.
On top of enjoying the free heat of the sun, the family have an underground rain-water catching tank that provides water for their plants. The plants also benefit from a clever composting system. Charles is an engineer by training, so the family have urine separating toilets connected to a completely natural, home-designed system with various tanks as well as gray water beds that filter and clean their waste and provide a fertile home for more plants. An outdoor pond provides a final resting place for any residues that can’t be used within the home, and this also provides extra nourishment for some fruit trees.

In the future, Marie and Charles intend to design further ways of capturing the spare solar energy generated in the summer and storing it for use in the winter.
Take a look for yourself and be inspired by what is possible with a little bit of creative thinking!

That might work well for Sweden, but I hate to think what it would do in the summer here in Arkansas where I live, even with all the vents and openings.

It can get up to 110 or more in my greenhouse in July, if I don't take some of the side panels down. In the winter when it's entirely enclosed, it rarely reaches 80.

Has No Life - Lives on TB

I love this little blue ball but I am ready to go Home. A place where God my Creator is always near. A place where I can fly or understand any language or answer any hidden question. To finally Understand the earth Processes I studied and watched for so long. To be reunited with my loved ones and my four-pawed children. To have a chance to protect and guide those down here if I am very lucky.

I do not believe we just cease to exist. Things are fixing to get ugly, but I really don't worry about it anymore, as I can't change any of it. That Peace is a Gift for which I am thankful. God is my Navigator and I am just the Loadmaster.

Deep South Homestead has a new podcast out that is very good. It's about getting all the seeds you can so you can grow your own food, because the "new" foods we can buy will be having less and less of actual nutritious real food in them.
