Well, when the sprinklers arrive, I can finish the set up. Hoses are in place and connected. I just finished resetting the timer. I got the 4 way splitter fixed. And the two way.
I use a four way on the hose bib end solely because my timer is old and Big. A two way just wouldn't have enough space to allow for a regular hose to be connected as well. And there needs to be a hose that goes to the backyard.
I have another timer that I tripped across at a garage sale. But reviews are mixed and I'm not willing to risk it right now. It looks like we are going to have a very dry June, which is not normal for us. It leaves me wondering whether we will have 3 dry months or if Fall is going to start early again.
Once this is done, I'll start on moving the plants off the porch. A lot of the new baby bushes will stay in gallon pots for this year. I'll put them in between vegetable beds so that they get regular watering.
The hibiscus, bunching onions, locate, cutting celery, and calendula will all get larger pots, much larger. And put to one side or the other of the vegetable beds for now.
This will give them time to get stronger, and also time for me to be sure where I want their final home to be. Although hibiscus is seasonal here, so those just get to get big and I'll harvest flowers as they come, and leaves in the fall.
Once that is done, it's back to new compost pile, and combining tree debris pile, and plotting "decorative" fence using some of the larger tree trunks. Decorative fence kind of jumped up the list because it would force people to come within camera range to approach the garden beds or the van.
It's not a perfect solution but it should help until garage space can be made for the van. It's a detached garage. And we can't install an automatic door opener do to issues with the rafters. But if we can clear room to fit the van, then we will. Tires have gotten too bloody expensive and the van uses truck tires.
And the gut is just saying that the time is coming for when it needs to happen. And I've learned to listen to the gut.
