I received a performance bonus at work last week, and used it to pay off my truck a year early. Was very happy for that, and will apply the monthly payment to other debt to snowball the payments.
Also did some shrewd eBay shopping for some welding and fabrication tools/supplies I wanted to stock up on and have need for in some upcoming projects. I got most of it for half off retail or better.

My wife is the Queen of the Bargain Safari (big game hunting bargains), and placed an order at Kohl's last night for approximately $130, with a savings of $434 for clearance and end of season clothing for my son and I for next year using various sales and discounts she stacks.

I buy our favorite seasonings by the case. Got a notice that latest order has arrived at Post Office. My main shopping goal this week is to find one of the grands a good deal on his favorite style carhartt jacket. Finally managed to get DH to quit wearing his very worn out one to town. Grand hates shopping and refuses to accept anything but home cooked meals for all the work he helps us with.

Nearly emptied our last catch-all closet this week. Got meds put with meds and everything else all sorted out. Filled another box with donation items for nearest women's shelter. Have vehicle and DH trained to stop at their back door once a week now.

Renters left behind most of their belongings including clothes, toys, dishes, etc. We are in boonies. NONE of the donation places will take the stuff unless I rent a small uhaul and deliver it! I may try an "it's free" notice in local paper. My biggest goal this week is getting that stuff gone. It would be sad to see it all go to waste.

Meal plans are done for this week. Have a proctored online test to take Thursday and will spend Monday to Wed making sure I am prepared for it. Couple friends taking same test made arrangements to do so in town but I don't want to wait another 2 or 3 months. Have job offers. Gotta figure out how I am going to work full time and still get garden in and everything else done. Working from home will help. No commute (or dipsh*ts) to deal with.

Checking and double checking certain preps to make sure we have what we need. Overall, we are good. God is good.

We overslept this morning! It was 8 am when we got up! It's a good thing we're not having home fellowship, today, or some things would not have got done. By the time I got a shower and got the crockpot going, it was 10 am. Had to drink a half pot of coffee first just to get woke up.

My Sam's order came, yesterday. Was glad to get that and get it all dated and stored away. I just replaced some bulk items that were getting a bit low for my liking in the pantry.

We have nothing planned for this week other than hauling firewood and Tuesday, Cary has a doctor's appointment in Big town for a checkup. We'll probably be in Big town most of the day. There are several places we need to go while there, besides Cary's appointment. LOWE'S, credit union, and Tupelo Hardware. We'll eat out, before coming back home, since it will be late.

Another freeze warning, tonight, but clear and sunny skies, until Wednesday. More rain coming in. I think later in the week, temps will be going back into the 70's and 80's for a while. I'll be glad of it, too. Only 42 degrees for our high today.

Well, I woke up before dawn but the body said no. So I fell back asleep and slept really late. But now I'm awake and feeling good. Somehow, I got feeling back in my feet all the way to my toes, which still have feeling their just numbing. Anyways, it's nice.

I did another order with Naturally A Deal. So we should have son safe ham, and cream cheese, and a few other things coming in. Also lamb. I couldn't not get it because lamb and uncure ham is rare. Both have become hard to find locally, even in the city. We can get lamb in local stores sometimes but the price is almost double what they have it at.

There are also 40lb of random chicken pieces. When I worked at a plant, these were meat that really couldn't work for other things. They made good chicken nuggets. But I'm planning to can them all. It should be a mix of light and dark. And at .99/lb it's worth a batch to see how many jars I can get. If it's decent enough, I'll use that to restocked my canned chicken over the next few months.

They also have cubed pork at a decent price. So I might do some of that as well. Small pieces take most of the work out of canning it.

Son is active and happy. But he's got some double cysts acting up on his ear. I don't know why but the CBD roller I use for his migraines seems to help with them. I'm hoping that maybe we can finally get them completely empty. I'll have to get some new colloidal silver made as well. That seems to help a lot as well.

It’s spring break in the county schools where my DD’s teach and grandkids are students at, so they’ve all rented a house on the beach and I’m sure having a good, if chilly time! That also means DH and I have this week off from babysitting little granddaughter and I’m planning to get some things done that’s harder to do with a little one underfoot.

I want to get the hall closets emptied, cleaned and inventoried. We keep some household cleaners and cleaning tools, extra light bulbs, etc. in them and right now they are a mess and it’s hard to see what we have or don’t have and I need to start a list of what we need to get. Also have plans to finish cleaning the upper kitchen cabinets with help from DH because the last thing we need is for me to be climbing around!

I‘ve been working as I’m able to get the pantries under control but I didn’t get anything done this past week due to a fibro flare up. I’m starting to feel a bit better so I’m really hoping to get finished in the basement pantry by the end of the month. The upstairs pantry is finally under control and it’s amazing what some organization can accomplish! For the first time in the years we’ve lived in the house, the floor of the pantry has stayed completely clear (no tripping over anything) and I can find exactly what I’m looking for!

DH and I have appts out this week so if I’m feeling up to it, we may do a little grocery shopping but only for a few sale items that I’d like to stock up on.

Thank You for starting the thread, Kyrsyan!

I made it home from daughter's about a half hour ago. Came in, saw some bananas that were looking pretty sad, so got out the double boiler and made banana pudding. I had been having a hankering for lemon pudding with raspberries but the bananas needed to be used up first. I've got the raspberries on hand, so I'll probably fix the lemon pudding Tuesday or Wednesday.

I didn't sleep well last night - youngest grandson finally got sent to his room a little before midnight in hopes that he'd go to sleep, but he was still noisy until about 1am - just in time for the bars to close and the traffic to pick up. Living at the end of a dead end road, I don't get much traffic noise at 1 am, so it kept me awake for a bit. I foresee a hot bath and a nap in my very near future.

The neighbor lady will be home from her trip sometime tonight, so we might make it to the pool tomorrow unless she needs some time to unwind first - I'm feeling kinda achey so I'm hoping that we get to go.

Looks like it's supposed to warm up from the 18* last night to 28* today; then - looking at the 10 day forcast - it is supposed to be in the 50's and 60's..... and rain 6 of the 10 days. I'm going to try to get some outside work done on Monday, and again on Tuesday before the rain starts in. I've about decided to plant tomatoes where the pole beans were, and just weave or tie the plants to the fencing; then I'll buy another roll of fencing and figure out a different place for the beans. I could get by without planting any beans this year as I have several cases of them in the pantry.

The cousins are planning to mow off a spot for me in one of the fields close to the house, and then use the 8' tiller one of them has access to break up the ground in so I can plant a large patch of sunflowers and pumpkins - gonna have to figure out a way to feed my wild birds without having to purchase a lot of feed.

Well, I made the mistake of having chicken for lunch, so it seems that nap is gonna be sooner rather than later

Take care all; hoping you folks have a safe and happy week!

I haven’t checked in here much lately. I stay so busy, and struggle most days right now to have time on the main board.

But I miss you folks. This is actually my most preferred part of TB2K, because of all the support that is found here. And all the “friendly faces,” so to speak.

At this point, I have about 10 cabbage plants, 11 broccoli plants and about 10 romaine or buttercrunch plants in the garden. We are still having freezing nights here in suburban Memphis, so the plants are either under row cover, or else, I manually place a 5 gallon bucket over them at night to protect them.

I started my tomato plants indoors about 10 days ago. I am doing mostly Roma tomatoes for spaghetti sauce and canning, and cherry tomatoes for the chickens. My feathered kids LOVE cherry tomatoes - almost as much as they love watermelon! I also started basil plants, to plant alongside my tomatoes.

I might purchase a single large slicing tomato plant from a local nursery later - maybe a Parks Whopper or a beefsteak or something. But I have found in previous years that my wife and I didn’t eat many of the slicing tomatoes I grew. We either gave them to neighbors, or chopped them up for the chickens. So, this year, I will grow only one big slicer plant. The rest will be Romas or cherry tomatoes. That will save me the trouble of chopping tomatoes for the chickens.

I use the Park Seed Starting system’s biodome (sold at Park Seed’s website) to start my seedlings, and it really works great! I can keep the seedlings in the dome’s tray for about 10 days before I need to replant them into styrofoam cups.

I am at that stage now. In the next day or two, I need to replant the little starts in potting soil filled styrofoam cups, where they will remain until it is time for them to go into the garden bed.

My wife has her good days and her not so good days. Today is a good day. She decided she wanted to cook breakfast herself, so she scrambled us both up some eggs. My wife - when she feels up to it - can make a much better skillet of scrambled eggs than I can.

I will cook supper, though. I’m not a fancy cooker, like some of you are. I just plan on opening a couple of cans of pork-n-beans, and mixing in some left over bits of chicken, fried chopped onion, BBQ sauce, and maybe a chopped and fried hot dog or two. I have a head of store bought broccoli in the fridge. I will probably boil it, butter it and top it with some cheese.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
Well, I haven't said much lately.
Had lots of my tomatoes come up.....and DIE in the big bubble like containers I used. Apparently it is NOT a good growing environment!
I will restart them in a more traditional planter with a dome.

Lost internet access the first 5 days of last week. Actually was a GOOD thing! I got some things done that needed doing!!! And I read, and read and READ on the 3 rainy days we had I believe at last count I read 9 books in 5 days ..... all murder mysteries. I am ADDICTED to them, even though I can generally tell you who the criminal is by the 3rd chapter or so. Some Doomer Porn included also....

I am SO LAZY this Spring!!! I HOPE I can motivate myself to get the garden going!!! I am excited about it, but I can only sleep, at most 4 hours at a time, due to bone and joint pain. I get up about 3 or 4 AM. Drink a WHOLE pot of coffee (I make weak coffee), and then by 9 or 10, am ready for the rest of my 8 hours of sleep, but many times I can't go back to sleep, or only for an hour or 2. Gonna have to modify this in order to be able to catch the cool part of the day for garden work! NEED to work in the garden from dawn until around noon. About 4-5 hours.

The baby goats are fine. I haven't gotten a picture yet. They are WILD!!! They must not have been handled at ALL! I have yet to be able to touch one of them longer than a minute or so ....and that is only the smallest one. I can't let them out until I have the whole area fenced, which I can easily do with the 30 or so kennel panels I have. Have also got electric fencing, cattle panels, and several other fencing materials. These little babies are pretty small Nigerian Dwarf and Pygmy crosses, so I will have to be careful. I have made a big stall for them in the Quonset hut and they are fairly happy.....dancing, running and jumping everywhere!! Absolutely ADORABLE!!

I know what you mean Barry about liking this part of TB2K best.....I never really felt accepted here until I found this area. Yes, the support is WONDERFUL!!! I am also including your wife in my prayers Barry. Don't know how I missed doing that before....so now I have everyone with chronic illnesses in this area on my intercessory prayer list. If anyone else wants to be added or I don't know about you, please let me know....I currently have Moldy, Southern Breeze, Summerthyme,
Skwentnaflyer, Kyrsyan and her son, Nomifyle, and Anna43......let me know if I left you out.....

Well, that's about it from here!!

Our church invited a Teen Challenge group to come today, and they did not show up. Pastor does not need a prepared sermon, so he stepped in and did a good job. I don't know how many they expected but there was a ton of food. On my plate I put two chicken legs, a small slice of ham, and just the tip of a spoon full of most of the things on the table, although I don't care for dressing so I didn't get any of that. One lady made a corn salad and the corn looked and tasted like shoe peg corn. I have to ask her on Wednesday night. Lots and lots of desserts but I only took a very small sampling of three things and I was full. There was so much fried chicken left over that I got DH 4 wings and two legs for me to eat later. I ate mine, but he is saving his for tomorrow. I'm not hungry.

Tomorrow is commodity pick up day, what we get is always a surprise. I'm making a quick stop at wm to see if they have any prune juice this trip, none last week.

I want to squirrel away some more cash from this month's ss check.

I'm still working my way through the Pendergast series, I'm on book 17, there are only 4 more.

I appreciate the friendly and supportive atmosphere here on the prep threads as well - y'all are the nicest folks!

I should have zipped to the Evil Empire in daughter's town to pick up some chicken for the outside cats before I headed home this morning, but really just wanted to get home and get some sleep. Tween boys; Lord help me!! I have enough cat chicken to get me through until I go to a town with an Evil Empire (all of the chicken at my small store is frozen, and very high in price.) My nap that I took after I got home ran a little longer than expected but there isn't much of anything on my 'Have to do' list for tomorrow beyond the possibility of going to the pool; and typing up and printing an H&P for my new medical provider.

Whew - that hot bath took all my energy down the drain with the bath water. I don't think I care if it isn't even 8pm; I'm heading to bed!

Take care all; stay safe out there!

IOUJC...baby plants need lots of air circulation. If they stay too moist, especially at the soil surface, they are subject to "damping off" and other issues. Tomato plants, especially, grow weak and spindly without air flow. It can also get very hot inside a glass or plastic dome cover.

To ensure sturdy tomato plants, once they have their first set of true leaves, either set up a fan to blow on them for a few minutes several times a day (hard enough they sway a bit in the breeze), or brush your clean hand (especially if you smoke) over their tops a couple/few times a day gently, just enough to bend the stems a tiny bit.

This encourages them to out more lignin... fiber.. into the stems to help them withstand their "windy" environment, and they'll be thicker, sturdier and much less brittle than plants that don't get the treatment.

Even though I don’t get back here very often, this is my favorite part of tb too. :)

We picked up a few groceries to add to our stash yesterday. Got them dated and put up today, after church and lunch out with family.

When we came home, hubby had a message that a guy has a load of wood for him to pick up. Several months ago this guy had posted online that he had a couple of trees he’d cut down and into logs if anyone wanted them. Hubby went and got that wood and the guy told him he’s clearing about an acre of woods and we could have all the wood when he cuts it down. Woo hoo! We never turn down free wood. We try to keep at least three years of wood cut and stacked for the wood heater.

Hope you all have a blessed week!

Back to work at the hospital full time this week (woohoo!!). i do a desk job now, so it's not as strenuous as it sounds. I do have to get up early, though, so I can use my lymphedema vest. I managed to hem 2 pairs of scrubs that my daughter sent me (if you only knew how bad I hate to sew, you would realize what an accomplishment this is!) and make a cheesecake for dessert today. I also got menu planning done and my to--do list for the week.

Well, I woke up this morning to a swollen, painful, and red right knee and a very swollen, red, and painful left ring finger. I'm using my cane to walk. So, not much will be getting done today. I'm using Voltaren cream and BioFreeze, alternately. I haven't checked my temp, but I feel like I've got a low grade one.

Cary plans to work on firewood this morning at home and will be going after another load this afternoon. The ground is frozen solid this morning. We had a hard freeze last night. Another freeze warning for tonight, too. At least it's not raining, so that he can continue to work on getting all the firewood brought to our house. We keep 9 cords under roof, and that will last us 3 yrs. depending on how cold our winters are. With all the trees that came down when the tornado went through, we may wind up with 10 or more cords when it's all finished. He'll tarp what won't fit in the woodshed.

Tomorrow is Big town day. I told Cary that I would go with him, but if I don't feel any better, he can go to all the necessary places in town, and I will sit in the car, except for his Dr. appointment. He doesn't like sitting in the waiting room by himself, LOL.

Up and at 'em today. Bloody cold. But I woke up with most of the feeling back in my toes. Weird stuff but I'll take it.

This morning I ordered a safe Easter bunny for my son. He'll have safe candies to enjoy for a while. I did manage to avoid ending up with more lollipops. And did find a few new things for him.

Of course, I have time free today and it's too bitter cold outside to do anything. Ugh. It's too cold for even putting plants out to adapt. But it's supposed to warm, and stay warm, after this burst.

Made another compression "sheet" for son. This one from lycra rather than regular knit. I sewed down the wrong side in making the tube but decided to try it first before I did anything else. So far, it seems like he likes it. It's just barely big enough to get one of his mattresses through, but that's the memory foam. We'll see what he thinks in a week.

Since I'm dead in the water at the moment, I think I'm going to get laundry going again. And clean the kitchen. And maybe another corner of the living room.

Prayers for all of you. Life just has ups and downs that like to kick in every once in while.

We’re pretty excited. We just brought home a HarvestRight freeze dryer. We figured right now it was a purchase worth making as opposed to leaving that money sitting in the bank. Mostly excited to be able to preserve our excess eggs and fruit harvest.

So sorry you are hurting an, I took diclofanic ills when my knee was giving me so much grief, and I still take it from time to time. I don’t like to take nsads very often but it definitely did help.

We are in line to pick up commodities and now the line is moving an hour early.

You won't regret it. I love being able to preserve eggs and fresh fruit. For the past few months I've been making yogurt with older powdered milk, turning that yogurt and fruit into smoothies, and then freeze drying the smoothies. Yummy stuff.

Got to enjoy something with my son today. This past Christmas was one of the few times that he showed interest in opening his gifts. And then playing with them.

My cousin went a hair overboard for his birthday and ordered his complete wish list for his birthday. He absolutely had a blast opening the box. And then each individual gift. And he is loving playing with them. Watching him open, actually see, and then play with these things is very new for him. And likely a result of the anti-seizure meds giving him back his working and short term memory.

This is on the longer to get list. Because we would use this so much. I already use the heck out of 4 dehydrators.

The neighbor lady made it home safely last evening, but needs a day or so off before we head back to the pool on Wednesday; I don't mind skipping the pool today as it is supposed to be warm (for March); and it's supposed to rain the next four days. The ground in the yard is pretty soft and I don't want to leave ruts with the buggy. If the wind dies down, I may just go out with a trash bag and pick up branches and any trash that's blown in. There won't be any work done in the actual gardens for a while as I sunk in that soil up to my ankles when I went out to check it this morning. - just glad I'd slipped off my shoes before walked in there - and that I was smart enough to leave a pitcher of warm water on the counter by the porch door both so that I didn't have to track the mud in to the house, and to warm up my toes - they were ch-ch-ch-chilly!!!. Even with the warm water from the pitcher to rinse the mud off, the soil had chilled me enough that I had to go sit on the edge of the tub and run some hot water to warm my feet up afterwards! I'm lways looking forward to getting the gardens in - I always get spring fever this time of year - but from the chill to my feet, I know that putting even cold hardy plants out would be foolish until mid April.

I've mostly just been wandering around the house this morning, doing a bit of cleaning - floors dust mopped, cat box taken care of, trash gathered and carried out as tomorrow is trash pick up, and I've also loaded some of the grandsons' outgrown clothing to drop by the Thrift Store when I go to town tomorrow. I've been thinking about volunteering there one day a week, but need to get all the medical crap dealt with first.

Daughter and I sat down yesterday and went over middle grandson's track meet list - deciding who is going to which meet, and who stays in town to get younger grandson to gymnastics. I didn't have my handy-dandy notebook with me, so tomorrow when I go to town, I'll drop by daughter's and see if I can't update it - at least I know the first two meets are at home. Out of the 18 meets, only four are at home so the van will get a workout. We are a rural farming area, and several of the small schools have consolidated on sports. And some times it's just some sports - the grandson's schools consolidate for Junior Football League and High School Football with kids from some of the nearby smaller schools. And the high school I went to consolidated with our arch rivals for basketball - I'm not sure who we play for our homecoming game now.

Hubby had put my giant (flip chart size) pad of graph paper up, so dragged it back out so I can start thinking about what to put where in the garden. I may change some of my raised beds around.... (Hubby would say that I have way too much time on my hands  )

Sometime today, I need to sit down and do an H&P (history and physical) to take with me to my 'new' medical providers - an NP - on Tuesday, and then biofeedback on an as yet to be determined date. I contacted HR this morning to let them know that I was switching providers to one in daughter's town so that she could go with me (otherwise she'd have to take a couple of hours off work to go); that another of the providers cancelled my appointment yet again (3rd time), which she seemed irritated by; and that I'd scheduled an appointment for bio-feedback, which she thought was wonderful. Good to be on the same page. I'm still dithering about retiring - but I'm also getting cold calls and texts from other facilities who are seeking RN's - including the local health department, which is a big fat NO. I'm looking at other options in nursing besides the hospital as well.

Well, if I'm going to sneak in a nap before Hubby get's home, I'd better grab my warm blanket and head for the recliner :)

Here is the recipe for shampoo that I use. There many variables that can customize it for your particular type of hair.

1cup distilled water to 1 cup of Castile soap
2 tsp almond oil or jojoba oil. There are many other oil options. It will be thinner than store bought. I keep it in a squeeze bottle like you put condiments in. While I have short hair my daughter has long slightly oily hair. I cut the almond oil in half for her. Have fun experimenting! I basically use whatever oil I have on hand. The ratios stay the same for me.

We picked up commodities, went to DT and WM.

In commodities we were given some frozen shrimp and fish sticks, canned mixed fruit and mixed vegetables. Some cake mixes that i will take to the church kitchen. We are not big cake eaters and I've never used a cake mix. Also in the box was fresh apples and yams.

At DT I picked up some of the pop up tissues. I'd never gotten them before because I thought they were not a thrifty buy, but I got a box in our church Christmas basket and really like the conveniece of not having a big box in the way. There were two brands, one had 64 tissues in the box and one has 85 tissues, I imagine the box with 64 might be a tad bit softer, no matter my nose is use to paper towels, the cheap kind. And DT has small bottles of prune juice, I got 4 bottles.

At wm I still could not find prune juice, sure am glad we went to DT. A head of lettuce was 1.69 which seemed reasonable and it last longer than the chopped lettuce in a bag. Someone mentioned graham cracker with cake iceing on it so as a sweet treat. Sounded reasonable so I indulged. I was going to get some walmart butter but they were out of the unsalted and I have illusions of making glee.

It was a brisk sun shiney day and going to be warmer tonight than last night and for the remainder of the week it is predicted to be in the low 70's.

And I got my van back today, cost 111.09. Something to do with the brake not turning off the brake lights, which was the main problem. Glad to have it back. Now I have to get some of the pollen off of it and drive it to church on Wednesday nights. Now if I can just find out what the code is for the radio to work. When the battery is down the radio requires a code to make it work again. I wrote it down somewhere.

After our dental appt. DH and I stopped off at Kroger to do some “cherry picking”, the only way to get anything affordable in there! I stuck strictly to my list EXCEPT when I noticed Land of Lakes butter marked down to $2.70 a lb. (probably because the use/buy/etc. date was mid April, doesn’t bother me a bit) 8 lbs made it’s way into my cart and will be going in the freezer.

They had Kroger brand cheeses for $1.29 for 8 oz and so we bought the 5 allowed, ditto on the Private Selection ice cream that DH and the grands are so fond of, for $3.99 a carton. We also got Townhouse crackers, both Betty Crocker and Pillsbury cake and brownie mixes the grandkids like to use and we were finally getting low on LOL, Rice a Roni $1.00 a box, Betty Crocker potatoes .99 cents a box,16 oz Kraft salad dressing $1.29 bought 4 of those, 2 rolls of breakfast sausage. I can’t remember all the prices or everything we bought but most every item was on sale and most had a digital coupon and the total bill was $116. ** and for all we got, I was ok with that. I don’t use that much convenience type items on a regular basis but when I can get them fairly cheap, I will stock the pantry with some and rotate them into meals, for several reasons, a change of pace, to extend other foods and just when I’m not feeling up to doing much.

They had cabbage on sale for .49 cents a lb, what a joke that was, they were softball size and looked like they had been there awhile. I noticed there were many empty spots on shelves but since I don’t shop that often, I had no idea what was missing and the store was busy so I didn’t check out the labels.

DH planted both red potatoes and Yukon gold potatoes today, I hope we get a good crop this year.

Thanks so much! I love almond oil, so that's what I'll use, but cut it in half. I already have it and Castile liquid soap on hand which makes this recipe even better. I need to find a squirt bottle of some kind, though. That shouldn't be a problem.

My knee and finger are no better this morning. So much inflammation. I can't stand for anything to touch my finger. I accidentally bumped it this morning while making the bed, and I went down and cried, it hurt so bad. I'm still using my cane. I'm still going to big town with Cary, today, but I'll just sit in the car. I have no wish to have to use the cane going from store to store and getting in and out of the car several times with it. I have an appointment to see my rheumatologist April 3. I haven't done as well with my Lupus, since he took me off HCQ. He may try a new med, but I refuse to take any biologics. He has mentioned Methotrexate in the past.

In light of this banking crisis, we have talked about pulling some money out of our savings account and buying more cases of Mountain House food and more PM's. Neither of us have a clear leading in that direction, yet, so we are waiting to see how things pan out for a while longer. Cary is watching things, closely, and we're still praying for guidance in what to do.

Empty and cleaned ketchup, mustard, or other bottle works well.

It will be a while, before I have any of those empty. I'll just pick up something to use from Walmart next time I go. They have plastic mustard and ketchup bottles in the kitchen ware section. I don't even have an empty dishwash or shampoo bottle I could use. I always buy the larger bottles of everything, so it takes a while to empty them.

Just went to Wm for some stuff.
Took advantage of the corned beef on sale, and got a marked down tri-tip as well.
Added up the weights and the prices.
Basically I got 9 pounds of meat (which will last me for two weeks) at 4 bucks a pound.
I'm happy. :D

Has anyone tried shampoo and conditioner bars? I'm thinking about trying some. I've used shampoo bars briefly, but not conditioner bars. I'd like to move to as natural as possible, but I still want my hair and my daughters hair to look good.

I'm having some dental work done tomorrow, and I'm already fighting anxiety over it. It has to be done though, and I'm sure I will be relieved when it's done. I'll most likely have several more appointments to finish up in the next month or so. Our close friend and neighbor has volunteered to fix dinner for us, and I'm so thankful for that! I probably won't feel like eating much for a few days, but my family certainly will. :)

Sheree,
I'm praying for you! I'm so sorry you're in pain!

I've heard about the bars, but I haven't tried them. My favorite health food store has them. I prefer "all natural" with everything, too. They didn't have anything for oily hair, though.

I'll definitely be praying for your upcoming dental work. I know all about the anxiety that comes with it. I have 3 teeth remaining that has to be surgically removed/cut out. My next appointment is April 12.

Thank you for your prayers.
