I've heard about the bars, but I haven't tried them. My favorite health food store has them. I prefer "all natural" with everything, too. They didn't have anything for oily hair, though.

I'll definitely be praying for your upcoming dental work. I know all about the anxiety that comes with it. I have 3 teeth remaining that has to be surgically removed/cut out. My next appointment is April 12.

Thank you for your prayers.
Thank you! I really appreciate it!

I was able to walk (1/2 block) to church and sit through the service on Sunday. Monday, I had physical therapy again and she had me do all the exercises the other therapist started me on last week. At home I'm breaking them down into standing, laying and sitting and not doing them all at the same time. I am feeling positive about this working.

I went to local hardware store after therapy and bought seed potatoes. $1.79 a pound so not cheap and I bought $9.85 worth. Just noticed looking at my receipt that I was charged sales tax which I thought was not charged on food seeds but guess I'm wrong. Last year I waited, and they were out of stock and so was everyone else so I'm no taking chances this year. I got Kennebec and Yukon Gold and may go back for some red. I also went to the post office for stamps and the clerk was just plain snarky. I didn't say anything, but it didn't please me to have her be so rude.

When I freeze butter, I always put it into vacuum sealed bags. Otherwise, the butter tends to taste like the freezer.

I absolutely need new sweatpants. I have 4 pairs and 3 are at least 15 years old. I retired 10 years ago and have lived in them every winter since. I lucked into finding fleece fabric at an estate sale, so my plan is to sew that into pants for next winter. Well, actually, I'd planned to do so for this winter!! Anyway, I'd cut out a pair in 2021 and finally started sewing them Monday. I got to the pockets and realized that (1) fleece pockets were too bulky and would look awful and (2) my sewing machine would not sew through that many layers of fleece. I went through my fabric stash and finally found some semi matching quilting cotton and cut pockets from that. They won't show so I don't know why I was so picky but guess it doesn't matter either way. If this pattern fits, then I will cut some other fleece to make more.

I took my recycling uptown this a.m. which was a big job since I haven't taken it since November I think. Where my dd lives they have a bin to put out biweekly and don't even have to sort it. We have to sort everything and then put each in the proper bin. The spot where the bins are located is muddy so I have to choose my time to avoid ruining shoes.

Most of my pods of tomato seeds have germinated. I planted 4 seeds in all the pods and the most that's come up in a single pod is 3. Three is fine as I won't use all three, but I was disappointed in the germination rate.

Our electricity went off for an hour or so yesterday. Don't know why, but it gave the generator a run under load which is good. It always does a weekly run to keep the battery charged and had hardly finished that and shut down when the power went off. It's automatic so comes on when the power goes off and shuts off after the power is back on. Such a (expensive) blessing.

Hubby has to go to Ft Smith this Friday to get his kidney stone blasted. I hope this new Urologist can maybe find the reason he keeps making them.

We went to Harbor Freight and bought me a small green house. I have wanted one for years. It will be awhile before we put it together. But I have it. I need to get my tomatoe and pepper seeds started right away. I have one of the mini green houses that just holds starter trays that works well. I will use it for the tomatoes and peppers. I am hoping to grow greens in the walk in green house all winter.

I have an incubator full of chicks. One group of 8 is sold. I am not sure how many the other lady wants. I will find out this morning. My incubator is just a table top model, but it does a good job.

Our truck has to go in to get the transmission codes read. We has a flashing overdrive light. It wasn't flashing when we drove it a few days ago, but did when we started it yesterday. So we got in the other truck to go to hubby's dr appointment in Little Rock. It is just one thing after another. Hubby will check the fluid before taking it to the dealer. It might just be low. It's a 2002 model. It has been a great truck and we plan to keep it going a long time.

Cary's checkup went well, yesterday. Doc told him to just keep doing what he has been doing, because everything looked good. We didn't have to wait long at all, before Cary got in to see him.

We went to Lowe's to get new drip pans for my stove, finally. Also bought more termite treatment for the house. He treats the house every Spring, so he wanted to get more to put back in storage. He doesn't ever want to run out.

We had to make a stop at our credit union to pick up the title to his Jeep. They failed to send it to him, once the Jeep was paid off.

Also, went to Tupelo Hardware and ACE Hardware, but no "strike anywhere" matches. We didn't even know there was an ACE Hardware in Tupelo, but Cary googled it, and sure enough, there was one. We'll try the feed store in small town next time we go there. He has to stop in there anyway to get more rat poison for his workshop. He says he has a pack rat in there.

We ate at Cantina Del Sol for supper, and then drove on home.

The inflammation is down in both my finger and knee this morning. I'm walking without my cane so far, and I can use my finger without pain. It's still red and swollen, but movable.

It rained while we were in town, rained all night, and is still raining this morning. 72 for our high today and 84 for our high tomorrow. At least, it's warming up. More rain and storms moving back in on Friday.

It got down to 64 last night and its warm, but not hot and overcast. Possibility of rain in the next few days. We've had plenty but apparently nothing like SB gets.

I'm just not getting much done today, my back is giving me a lot of grief, upper and lower. I did manage to get things done in the kitchen and cook for mid day meal. We'll eat at church tonight.

I dug out several pounds of rice from the freezer to take to church. We have more rice than we will ever use stored. And red kidney beans, I take those to church that we get in commodities. Red beans are not cooked the same in this neck of the woods and DH does not like the New Orleans red beans that I cook, so I don't cook them. No one can cook them like Buster Holmes and he's been long gone.

Some of y'all are very patient. Picky eaters are one of my pet peeves, especially if I"m the one cooking!! Wasn't much of a 'day off' - therapy this morning, meeting for work over lunch, and errands. It's already 2:30 and I'm just starting on my 'list of things that need to be done'. I did go grocery shopping to pick up specials. Saved 25% at Safeway that way - the zyrtec I needed to buy blew that, or it would have been better.

Off to get work done. I did call one of the insurance companies we use and got my premium reduced by $160/year. Saving money is almost always a plus!

Son is a picky eater because of sensory issues. I've just learned what will set him off. One of the issues is that he can't seem to correctly judge temperatures with his lips/mouth. So he uses his fingers. The problematic one though is things that shift texture too much. Either way, I'm used to it.

Been dealing with someone who is shooting themselves in the foot. Or in the job. We are doing cleanup across the board for the boss and she keeps trying to find blame, and then keeps trying to prove that it couldn't have been her mistake, and then keeps doing things to try and sabotage. And the thing is, she's making it obvious. We are trying to help her. We don't even look at blame at this point, just fixing the problem and putting steps in place so it doesn't get repeated. She keeps wasting time repeatedly reviewing our work, looking for errors, rather than getting her own work done and done correctly. And she keeps trying to dump her work on us. And then having a fit because we don't instantly stop everything that we are doing and do whatever she thinks needs to be done. At this rate, boss is going to replace her. She was not his first choice of employee to keep but she was the only one willing to go full-time. (Except that she repeatedly leaves the office early when he's not there.) I honestly have seen very few people shoot themselves quite so thoroughly. We are actively trying to help her and she is just shredding herself. Oo vey.

My cousin decided to order everything left on son's b'day list. And have it all gift wrapped. And it was honestly an amazingly fun thing to watch him open it all. Yes, she went way overboard. (There's enough GF oreos to last him all year!) But he had such an absolute blast. And watching him comprehend it all in ways that his seizures did not allow before was just beautiful. He was literally bouncing and laughing the whole time. And each new box was a fun adventure. I was at the point where your heart almost hurts from the pure innocent joy of it, and the sorrow that it took so long for him to have that.

And I had to laugh. She bought him a variety pack of his favorite pretzel brand. And I've left the box where he can grab them. Today he opened the box, grabbed one, and closed the box. And this is one of those tab lid boxes where he had to pull out the tab and put it back. And he did it without tearing it!

Put son on Vitamin D3 after finding out that low D can trigger migraines. And it looks like we may have found one more piece of the puzzle. I don't know why it didn't occur to me before. He likes to hermit with his windows closed for 80%+ of the time. The interesting twist is that now he's opening his curtains more. Now I just have to sort through all of the stuff with the neurologists office and who is going to be seeing him from now on. And get the bloodwork orders.

I'm so happy to hear about your son enjoying life! We have a child that is high functioning, and one grandson that is mostly non verbal. I'm always looking for gift ideas for our grandson that he can enjoy.

I'm trying new things. Foods that he likes are always great. Toys that come in bulk packs, normally light up things that we know will die but he'll love playing with them until they do. And there are plenty.

I'm about to reach out to Aaron's Putty and see if I can buy a bulk pack of their liquid glass again. He loves taking the smaller batches and making them massive.

And the newest that I got him just came in. They are quality custom heat transfers for his shirts. I got quite a few from his favorite movies. And I'm so looking forward to his response.

And dot markers. Omg the mess. But omg, he has an absolutely blast "drawing" with them.

If I could find a batch of the Mega Blocks castle blocks, the massive ones, I'd get him those. Because he loves destroying them but it takes him forever to do it. They are on the "approved to destroy" list that keeps him from damaging other things.

I think part of it is a lot of letting go of the money side of the holiday... Yes, I tend to spend a lot on some things. But very little on others. The main focus is finding what he enjoys and letting him enjoy it.

Well, all you all have been very busy it sounds like!! I am glad to hear you are back at work Moldy!!! Does that mean your doctor has released you and approved this??? And are you feeling a good bit better???
PLEASE DON'T OVER DO IT!!! And take LOVING care of yourself!! OK?

SB, sorry to hear you are having so many issues and are feeling so bad. I have 2 friends who have lupus, RA and Sjogren's like you do......you have my admiration, because I see how hard they struggle and the pain involved. Prayers continue for relief, especially from pain.:hugs:

I am continuing to have issues getting motivated and getting myself going.....it is like I just am EXHAUSTED and DEPRESSED......any prayers along those lines would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! I am also COLD all the time!!! This is EXTREMELY UNUSUAL for me, because I have always been someone who is always HOT!!

I did transplant some of my tomatoes (the ones that didn't die!!) and peppers into bigger pots today, and got them out of those dang bubble things!! Those did not work well AT ALL! Thanks Summerthyme for the advice. You can be SURE I will never use those goofy things again!! Following your advise, after these get a little stronger, I will try a fan and also brushing my hands across them. So far, the survivors have been Beefsteak tomatoes and Pimento and Publano peppers.
I am going to replant the "Black" tomatoes, they sound interesting!!

I did get a nice loaf of bread made today. Between me, Bubba goat, and DAN DAN the Doxie, we ate about half the loaf!!! It was REALLY GOOD! This is the first loaf I have baked in about 10 days, so we truly enjoyed it!!

Well, take care of yourselves everyone, and do something NICE for yourself TODAY!!

Well, I haven't said much lately.
Had lots of my tomatoes come up.....and DIE in the big bubble like containers I used. Apparently it is NOT a good growing environment!
I will restart them in a more traditional planter with a dome.

Lost internet access the first 5 days of last week. Actually was a GOOD thing! I got some things done that needed doing!!! And I read, and read and READ on the 3 rainy days we had I believe at last count I read 9 books in 5 days ..... all murder mysteries. I am ADDICTED to them, even though I can generally tell you who the criminal is by the 3rd chapter or so. Some Doomer Porn included also....

I am SO LAZY this Spring!!! I HOPE I can motivate myself to get the garden going!!! I am excited about it, but I can only sleep, at most 4 hours at a time, due to bone and joint pain. I get up about 3 or 4 AM. Drink a WHOLE pot of coffee (I make weak coffee), and then by 9 or 10, am ready for the rest of my 8 hours of sleep, but many times I can't go back to sleep, or only for an hour or 2. Gonna have to modify this in order to be able to catch the cool part of the day for garden work! NEED to work in the garden from dawn until around noon. About 4-5 hours.

The baby goats are fine. I haven't gotten a picture yet. They are WILD!!! They must not have been handled at ALL! I have yet to be able to touch one of them longer than a minute or so ....and that is only the smallest one. I can't let them out until I have the whole area fenced, which I can easily do with the 30 or so kennel panels I have. Have also got electric fencing, cattle panels, and several other fencing materials. These little babies are pretty small Nigerian Dwarf and Pygmy crosses, so I will have to be careful. I have made a big stall for them in the Quonset hut and they are fairly happy.....dancing, running and jumping everywhere!! Absolutely ADORABLE!!

I know what you mean Barry about liking this part of TB2K best.....I never really felt accepted here until I found this area. Yes, the support is WONDERFUL!!! I am also including your wife in my prayers Barry. Don't know how I missed doing that before....so now I have everyone with chronic illnesses in this area on my intercessory prayer list. If anyone else wants to be added or I don't know about you, please let me know....I currently have Moldy, Southern Breeze, Summerthyme,
Skwentnaflyer, Kyrsyan and her son, Nomifyle, and Anna43......let me know if I left you out.....

Well, that's about it from here!!
Please add me to your list, thank you

Thyroid is NEVER right!!! My Psychiatrist also said my depression would never get better until my thyroid was normal. I took the Synthroid for YEARS.....it did NOTHING!!

I used to use some stuff from the health food store which worked fairly well. Then it was no longer available. I ended up on Lugol's iodine, which worked PHENOMENALLY, but some people said it made me MEAN! I think what it was, is it helped me be more assertive, and LOTS of folks weren't used to that!!!

Docs around here will NOT prescribe ARMOR thyroid, which is really the ONLY THING that does work!!

I am currently using Natural Sources Raw Thyroid, which is working to a degree.....at least I now have eyebrows!! And I am again growing hair on my legs and in my arm pits .....which I did NOT have for YEARS!! I had asked Doc to run thyroid tests and told him I was taking a suppliment. He asked if it was Armor and when I said no, he said there was no need for a test!!! Right there it tells you what WORKS!! TOTAL BUTTHEADS THESE DOCTORS ARE!! They want to make FUTURE heart patients, kidney and bone loss patients!!!!

Since I now live alone and have little interaction with anyone close, I need to order the Lugol's again......I just worry about the dosage. Whenever I have put REGULAR iodine on my belly, it disappears within about 8 hours......so there's THAT!!

I'm SURE that is the issue, but fixing it without a Doc is the problem!!! I am DEFINITELY open to alternatives and suggestions!!!

I use Emerald Laboratories Thyroid Health. You might want to look at that. And as far as the iodine, who cares what other people say. If it makes you happier, healthier, and gets you back to normal, take it. No need for you to feel miserable just so other people can feel comfortable and abuse you.

Just looked at that page and there are some GOOD things in there!!!

Also, my Psychiatrist told me I definitely had HASHIMOTO'S!!! AND, when I was a child, I had radiation treatments on my tonsils..... DON'T ask me, it was a new thing back then, basically I was a human guinea pig!!! They have now found that 90% of the kids who had this tx die of thyroid cancer!!…

Praise the Lord I got my tonsils out when I was 2 1/2.

Overcast and in the 80's today, maybe a little sun later.

Second commodities today, this is the one they call the 40# box. And the box was very heavy. 2- 4# bags of grits. We have lots of grits and just about never eat them. so I've given some away and some I'm saving to dump on ant piles, makes them swell up and die.

We keep getting cans of mixed vegetables that have, gag, celery in them, so I'm either giving them away or saving them for dog food.

two large cans of canned chicken. If only I could figure out a way to prepare canned chicken that DH would eat it, but nooooo, he doesn't like the texture. These cans will go in the pantry stash, I'll eat it.

Orange juice, our pastor likes that. The cheese also goes to the church. Dehydrated potatoes and dried milk go in the pantry. The pasta, rice and red beans go to my cousin. I just can't keep piling up things that we don't eat.

I'm greatful for what we are given, if we don't eat it we share it.

All my bills are paid, I might be able to snatch some cash out of my checking account.

Cutting, hauling, splitting, and stacking firewood today. That's our prep today. Severe storms are possible for tomorrow through Saturday morning. High of 84 today.

If Cary has time today and isn't too tired, I want him to help me move some huge flowerpots that line the north facing side of our house that grow giant Hosta in them. Since the Hosta gets so big, I need the pots spread out a bit more. The Hosta is coming up, and there will be no way to move them if I let them get too large. There are 5 of them. I would like to get it done, before the rain comes in, but it can wait a bit longer if we don't get to it today.

I'm doing much better today. Swelling is all gone, with only a bit of redness left in knee and finger. Still slightly painful, though. I made it fine, yesterday, without using my cane. A round of Prednisone almost always works for me, even though, I hate the stuff.

Do any of you know if Kroger carries rye flour? I've checked several grocery stores in my area for it, but it's not there. I never shop at Kroger but will try there if they have it. I don't want to order any online if I can help it. Too many possibilities of nasties getting into it. I'm paranoid about bugs/weevils getting into my stuff.

Doesn't near me. But you can go on their website and check for near you. Filter it by available in store.

It's available online at Kroger. I just checked, but I'm not paying $30 for a sack of flour! Cary can just forget his homemade Jewish rye bread! Is there a reason it's so hard to find and expensive?

No, no Amish around in these parts of Mississippi. I, once, bought it at Walmart, but they've since stopped carrying it. Walmart has stopped carrying several of my favorite items. I'll check to see if I can get it online from Walmart if I can't find any other option. I just don't like the idea of ordering it online from somewhere.

Like Kyrsyan said I would check out Amish or Mennonite stores if you have any close by. We go to one about 45 minutes away and although I’ve haven’t paid attention to their flours they do sell rye berries if you would have a way to grind it. Bobs Red Mill and King Arthur probably sells enough that you shouldn’t have to worry about bugs, although it’s most likely more expensive.

I’ve been so exhausted this week, I‘m having a bad fibromyalgia flare with bad brain fog and pain and I think most of it can be attributed to the weather. I’m ready for it to settle down, I’ve got so much that needs to be done. I’ve been keeping us fed but the decluttering I wanted to get done this week got pushed back.

I have been working on making a WM list to fill in holes and low places. DH and I have discussed several times that the chili beans supply was low, so today 8 cans of Great Value chili beans was on the list for DH to shop for. Lord have mercy and bless his heart, he managed to come back from the store with 4 cans of light red kidney beans and 4 cans of dark kidney beans but no chili beans! I’ll use them up in something. Told him it reminded me of the time I wrote out very plainly Kroger Italian sausage on his list and he came home with a huge bottle of Kroger Italian salad dressing, LOL! I think he’s got way too many irons in the fire right now and is completely distracted. I already started a new list with chili beans at the top!

Several bottles of shampoo‘s (thanks to whoever brought up shampoo for the reminder) and a few bottles of conditioner have been added to our supplies, now I’ve got to feel up to finding a place to store them that’s easy to access. I’ve ordered some canning lids, some generic mucinex, DH is hauling some hay he had to buy since we are down to our last few rolls and he picked up a 40 lb box of chicken breast that will be canned.

Judy~I wanted to tell you that I ordered the little jar vac sealer about a month ago that you recommended but didn’t get around to using until this week. I used it straight out of the box without charging it and vac sealed 3 jars of rice a roni. So thanks for sharing it.

Bobs Red Mill is what I could order from Kroger, but not for $30 a sack. I'm not paying that!
SB~ No, I meant ordering directly from BRM or KA, I’ve had good luck from both places although I’ve haven’t used them too many times.

If I can't find any "instore", I'll consider ordering directly from them. I don't know why Kroger had their price jacked up so high. I've looked at King A and Bob's, and neither of them had prices that high. We always go directly to the company when ordering online, so to cut out the middleman.

If I can't find any "instore", I'll consider ordering directly from them. I don't know why Kroger had their price jacked up so high. I've looked at King A and Bob's, and neither of them had prices that high. We always go directly to the company when ordering online, so to cut out the middleman.
Because that’s what Kroger and a lot of other places do these days. Ridiculous.

Family coming Friday. And I love them but they tend to be judgey. So clearing things up in the living rooms. Getting misc things tucked away. Still a mess but a more acceptable mess.

Punting on dinner tonight. Reheating shredded pork in th wok. I really need to go out and pull a weeks worth of meals from the freezers. Menu plan a bit in advance. I know next Wednesday will be lamp chops because I will be picking those up. That's going to be yum.

We got those big pots of Hosta moved! Yay! It took Cary a while to get it done, then I had to measure in-between each pot to make sure they were rightly spaced. He also got a lot of wood split today. More to cut and haul, but not today.

I'm taking the easy route for supper, tonight. Hamburger Helper with my home canned ground beef and homemade French fries. Cary stopped in at his favorite donut shop, yesterday, while in big town, so donuts are for dessert. They are "melt in your mouth" delicious!

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
It's available online at Kroger. I just checked, but I'm not paying $30 for a sack of flour! Cary can just forget his homemade Jewish rye bread! Is there a reason it's so hard to find and expensive?
The only reason I know of, is that it has to be stored carefully. If it molds, it causes a severe reaction known as Saint Anthony's Fire resulting in hallucinations, seizures, and commonly death.

It was a factor in the Salem Witch Trials and other frentic activities.
