Yeah. Even though, I've had to cut way back at the grocery store by buying only the basics with no extra spending, I won't pass up a good deal if I see one. I don't come across many (it's rare) BOGO sales, anymore.

I've been thinking all morning, since the news about my uncle. Remembering in years gone by all the years when my aunts and uncles were young with me and all my first cousins growing up together. We all lived in the same area. Family gatherings were something to behold. Both sets of grandparents were still alive, too. Now, all grandparents and aunts and uncles, except for the 3 aunts, have passed, and now, me and my first cousins are the older generation. How time has flown.

Oh, I just checked, and it's true...yay!!

I still love the original. McGee reminds me of our yougest son. They had a good episode last week commemorating Ducky; it mainly featured Jimmy but Tony showed up for a minute.

We must have missed that episode. I don't remember it from last week.

I don't know how good the new "NCIS: Europe" will be, but we'll give it a look see, once it comes out.

Work work work here with one eye on the news. And that is our good eye!! Barn is coming along nicely and green house is stuffed with herbs, flowers, and vegetables. I spent a large part of the morning planting smoke. You know what I mean? In my free time I am going to start a line of seed for geriatric gardeners. Brightly colored and large! No more of this powdered stuff I have been planting!

I guess the reason we missed that episode last week is that we've started back at season one binge watching. We haven't been watching the new season. We'll eventually get caught up, though. We're watching it on Paramount+.
Last night was the first time I’d watched the current series since a couple episodes after Gibbs left. I don’t really care for the newer cast members

Alive. Not quite kicking yet. My body is now cold more often than not. I'll have to get that figured out. It is definitely tired of being tired. I'm hoping that means that I'm at the last stages of healing.

I finished watching the new episodes of MacGyver. Now I'm watching the episodes from my childhood. It's interesting how the newer version isn't that far off from the old one.

My brain fried today. I forgot to take a lunch and so at about 7 and half hours, I was done. I ended up laying down. I didn't nap but just had a long rest. I realized that some of my sleep problems were because son was having sleep issues. Hopefully that problem has been fixed.

We got the truck work finished; new ball and new u joints. It drives much better. Hubby's back is really hurting now. He thinks part of it may be another kidney stone. Time will tell on that.

He is trying to get everything in good shape incase things really go to crap and we can't get parts. He ordered a set of tiller tines for troybuilt tiller. It needs them. I have more potatoes ready to plant today if it isn't too wet. We got some rain yesterday morning.

Monday we went to the Rhea Lana consignment sale. It only last a week, 2 times a year. We bought clothes and shoes for each grandchild. I got a couple of home school books for the ones doing home school. This year there wasn't nearly as much stuff in the sale and it seemed that the quality was not quite as good. You really had to look things over. We found good stuff for each child though.

After the consignment sale and lunch, hubby dropped me at my favorite thrift store while he went to the hardware store. I wanted to get tshirts for hubby to work in, but they had not changed to spring and summer clothes yet. I did get a lot of plastic eggs for our church. They had to cull a lot last year after the egg hunt so we needed more. I bought us 3 king pillow cases and me a little bag with 3 spools of thread. I never pass up good thread. My other item I was most excited about was a new Coleman camp oven. It was older, but new, in the box for $8. I have wanted one for years. I am hoping I can bake on our wood heating stove with it. It's turned off warm already so I may not get to try it till fall.

Our well guy came Friday and pulled the old pump out of our original well. The pump was dead. The well guy had an electric pump puller that made the job a breeze. They had it done in 30 minutes. It was worth every penny we paid them. I came in and ordered a well bucket from Lehman's. It is the only place I found them. They are made in the USA. They are also on back order till probably June. I just hope that we get one. I am also making out a separate order for oil lamp parts.

We are looking at some LED lights and a solar panel to charge a battery.

Our Harps has been low on food the last week or so. We stopped late yesterday afternoon on our way home from seeing the kids. Yesterday was truck day, but there were still low inventory spots. The head lettuce only had 3 heads. But the had been none for a week. We are in the eclipse path. The county is telling everyone to stock up because there will be a lot of extra people in the area. So that may be some of the low inventory. Or it may be that more are worried about what could be coming before and after the November elections.

I have 4 rose bushes to plant today. Hubby is going to have to help me figure out where to put them so that they are out of the way.

I have caught 5 mice in my chicken house. I know there are more than that. I will keep trapping because I don't need the extra mouths to feed even if they are cute.

Have a blessed week and stay safe everyone

Up at 5. Chores done.
Working on coal stove keep it going. It's warm during the day but gets cold at night.
Summer that was my thinking too on the lights. I have tarps, I'll try that.
I have a Coleman oven. It works great.
I can use mine on the stove top also as our heat element for the oven is out.

Had the boys yesterday for the day. They enjoyed being at the farm.
They said their parents say they miss burning trash as they have to bug tags and put bags out. And that the bills are more living on their own...
We don't watch TV but borrowed sons Netflix and played Rescued by Ruby for the boys. Great movie.

The kardia thing came and Scot used it. Just shows tachycardia, no known cause.
I just don't know ladies. It's all day and night with his constant complaints. Now he thinks he has a blood clot in his leg. That's possible as he has old dvts in his legs they found at Cleveland.
I've offered to take him to ER. He pitches a holy fit. At what point do I go outside and just call 911?

Today is just cleaning day. Floors and dust. 50s during day, 30s at night.

Oh, me and Levi worked on different fire things. Dakota fire pit and a swedish torch. Worked good and he fried him some eggs on it.

One more cup of coffee. I might be learning to change brake pads on the jeep. They are grinding a bit.

I suspect Scot is scared... he very likely has some PTSD after his long ordeal last year. As far as complaints... that's what (most) men do! Does he have any heat, swelling or redness in the leg? If so, he's going to have to go to his doc or the ER soon. Is he already on blood thinners? That would make it less likely to have a clot...

The tachycardia, as it was explained to me many years ago, is not really dangerous by itself. He shoukd be fine doing light chores and moving around... bed rest isn't indicated, and can cause more issues with deconditioning and stuff like clots. If the tachycardia is causing light headedness or dizziness, of course he needs to be careful around machinery.

He's almost certainly just sick to death with being sick!

What I'd do is just quietly keep an eye on him... let him do what he feels up to. Watch his color, look for signs he's getting out of breath more than usual. I'm sure you know what to look for! Listen to his complaints, but try to be positive... he's very blessed to be alive, and I'm sure you both know it. The cardio appointment is getting closer, and we're praying you'll get some good answers there.

You're still in my prayers...

Thanks Summer. He does get out of breath when doing much at all. He reads Google too much. I'm worn to the bone doing everything and the constant complaints for which I don't have many remedies.
No blood thinner other than aspirin. I'll ask him again about the swelling.

I keep calling to see if I can get him in sooner but no dice yet.
I do have the library tomorrow which is 4 miles away so I do that and it's my sanity.
He was doing so good for long time. I'm praying it's a med change that will fix it.
Thank you sweetheart

Absolutely nothing going on here, today. We're still in a holding pattern, until we get more info about the funeral service. I won't know what day it will be, until later this afternoon. It could be tomorrow, and it could be Friday. I went through our emergency "Go Bag" yesterday to make sure it's ready to go. DS will be watching our house and Frisco while we're gone, so those arrangements are made. Security measures are in place.

Mom isn't taking this too well. Her health has been bad for several weeks, and this stress on her isn't helping. She wants to stay in Florence with her sister for a while (couple of weeks), but her health right now just won't allow it. I'll be keeping a watchful eye out on her while we're there. I hope and pray that she will be ok, and we don't have to take her to the ER while there. My aunt is a retired RN, but she's not in any shape right now to help with Mom if something were to happen. Cary and I have made contingency plans were something to happen, and I have to stay with Mom if she has to go to the ER or hospitalized in Florence.

Prayers will be much appreciated.

I woke up this morning and the back brain quickly told me why the renderings from yesterday had fragged my brain. Despite printing at 100%, no scaling, they aren't to scale. Long story short, the architect didn't send printable scale drawing. While I was on a drive this morning, I figured out the solution.

Picking up bulk order today and then back to the grind.

The sun is shinning and the temps are moderate.

No prayer meeting tonight, another local person has passed and the wake is tonight. This fellow was in his mid to late 60's and had cancer. Before covid his cancer was in remission, but he got the clot shot and it came back. Of course no one will admit the shot might have had something to do with it.

The older than me folks are getting fewer and fewer.

I'm feeling pretty good today, the cough is getting lesser and lesser. Now if I just had the energy or inclination to get something done.

DH ate pretty well yesterday, he had a bacon and cheese omelet first and later cabbage and smoked sausage.

Would everyone please say a special prayer for Mom. Her BP has skyrocketed. I knew the stress of all of this was going to make her worse. It was 187/101 a couple of days ago at the doctor's office, but her PCP didn't give her a diagnosis as to what was causing it to be so high other than her having Primary Biliary Cirrhosis of the liver, an autoimmune disease that is steadily progressing as she ages. It's still really high, today, even though, she started a new BP medication today.

Thank you, kyrsyan. We always drive up there and back on the Natchez Trace Parkway. It's always a beautiful, scenic, and peaceful drive. Florence isn't so bad, either.
Prayers for your mom.

And when I was doing census work, I had to drive out there twice a week. Nice long peaceful drive. Jam packed small city in the middle of nowhere. I'd move out that way if it wouldn't put me even further from family and friends. Some of the areas I had to visit were just so wonderfully calm and peaceful.

I took a look at the weather forecast - rain in the forecast but no snow for the next four days in spite of temps dropping in to the 20's, but my achey hands have me giving that forecast the side-eye. Glad I picked up some comfort food fixin's while I was out.

Speaking of comfort food, I'm getting off here, and making myself a bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with warm fudge topping and chopped pecans! LOL.

Praying for ya'll SB.

Grand came today and did bunch of power washing. Another coming tomorrow to help me deep clean.
DH dispatched another groundhog today. We have a pair of beautiful hawks that have made our place their home for years. (I told them from the beginning to leave my chickens alone and they do. I forgot to ask them to spare the bunnies so once in awhile I see them in the yard having rabbit.) Today they were either fighting or flirting. Shrieking at each other like they do when one is on the nest and wants a break. I took a break and watched them.

Dear friends buried their only child this week. Cousin sentenced to 8 years in prison for a meth related fight. Another dear young friend is in her 6th month of rehab after her spouse committed suicide and she relapsed to drugs. It's a tough world out there.

Checked and double checked food preps. Our area is supposed to be buried deep in people for the eclipse. I will try to grab lettuce and tomatoes a few days before. Was surprised to find whole cashews at Harps the same price as pieces at Dollar General. Our DG had laundry soap and other essentials on clearance this past weekend. $4 for a jug of any of the name brand laundry detergents. Wondering what was up with that.

Well, I decided to see if son was still uo to ribs. Well, up to eating them without making a mess. The answer was yes. He laughed and left only bones.

The bulk order today had a lot of veggies. So the freezers are crammed again. Yummy variety and more affordable than local stores. I do need to clear some things out though.

I am wiped out. I'm hoping to go to bed early tonight.

Did my speech for work today - hopefully I didn't sound like an idiot. EARLY day tomorrow - I need to be at work to help with a thing for nursing students, so will hopefully be home by about 4 pm. Then working from home on Friday. I cannot tell you what a blessing that is!

PIcked up a few things at Safeway and one of the local independents, but still spent WAYY too much. I need to learn how to make homemade deli meat. I've checked out a couple videos - just need to take the plunge and do it.

Praise the Lord, My electric bill went way down, like $100 less than last month. I rarely ran the furnace and the temps by my bed got down to 65 a couple of times. I was cosy and warm, although sometimes my feet got out from under the cover and they got cold. DH runs a small electric heather in the bedroom at night and early morning he runs a small heather at his computer desk. Although when its really cold he has the wood stove going. As the weather gets warmer though the smell from the wood stove kills my allergies, so he stops lighting it.

In the past when the electric bill was less i spent more at the grocery store. But in the last month I've spent $80 on groceries, mostly to replace things I've used. We don't drink so there is no money spent there, although if we did I would spend on it. I've stocked up on hard liquor in the past, so no need to buy any more.

I didn't renew amazon prime so if I want something that I would have to pay shipping on I wait until I have $35 to avoid shipping. Although I do have a few things in the cart, but I'm waiting until I get my next check. I do have to money to pay for it now but I want to wait, trying to get more cash out of the bank. Same with my wm list, I'm waiting, I don't need anything, just wants.

My subscribe and save order didn't come yesterday but is out for delivery today. I guess I'm using S&S to stock up on a few things, but not much, this order is mostly supplements, gotta have those.

The sun is not exactly shinning bright, but its nice outside. More rain tomorrow.

I fixed DH's version of chili mac last night, although I use mac n cheese instead of plain elbow macaroni, he complained, I said tough. He like it.

We just got home from our trip and wanted to let everyone know that we're back. The trip went well, and Mom made it ok. She didn't feel up to staying long after the service, so we ate the lunch that my aunt and uncle's church members fixed for the immediate family. We started back home right after we ate. It was a nice lunch. Everything went well. My aunt is doing ok. It's just going to take her some time to heal from this.

Cary and I both are tired, and I have another one of my stress migraines. I've had it all day, and nothing I've taken has helped. I'm going to just relax, watch some NCIS, eat a bowl of ice cream, and go to bed. Just getting still and relaxing will help.

Thanks to All for your prayers.
