I order from Dixondale and they always send extra and mine always survived. Always get great plants from them!
That's good to hear. I'm gifting the extras to friends. I just can't give them more garden space this year. But I'll know for next year. Maybe spilt an order with others.
Thank you. Its nice to know a company that will send extra just to make sure you get what you ordered, in the ground and growing. And the ones planted so far are doing well. I check on them as I plant the new rows. But if I plant more in this bed, I'll overcrowd them. I'm already going to have two rows that are zigged a bit to fit in a last row on two sides rather than have an extra large, unplanted gap.
Maybe next year I'll take the time to figure out if I can fit more by alternate spacing on each row. This year, I just want them in the ground before the weather turns or my body decides it just won't do it. (My spine does not like extended periods of bending. And anything more than 5 minutes is extended.)
Got another row in today. Then my walk. Then working on laundry and finished a hat for friend. It's double strand, turquoise and purple, crushed velvet yarn. Her colors and they blended well.
Tomorrow I'm doing a test pattern for ear warmer. I hadn't liked the ones I found so far. But I tripped across one that said it's finally binding off was stretchy. That's an issue using the looms. I'm testing with one of my extra yarns to see if it works. If it does, I'll make one to go to the friend with the hat. And I'll try one with son. He may tolerate that better than a full hat.
And if that works, I have a different idea I want to try for making the hats that will hopefully reduce the amount of gathered material at the top. Not that I plan on making many more hats but my brain won't leave it alone until I see if it works.
I have an extra day, or two, off this coming week. Boss is leaving the extra one up to me. But that also means I'll be working extra for Mon, Tues, Weds. I am debating punting for Thanksgiving and doing a grocery pick up of simple things, including a Sam's Club rotisserie chicken.
