DH killed a deer, a decent size doe. We were going to take it to a processor to get deer steak, but the one nearest us closed down. So he decided to just grind it up, we are very fond of ground meat anyway. This girl had a lot more fat than they usually do. He's grinding right now, I bagged a couple of tubs full and am taking a break.

I've been fighting a bad headache all morning. It was so bad when I woke up I just didn't know what I was going to do. Now after two rounds of tylenol and tylenol in sinus meds its dulled but still there. I've always considered myself a headache looking for a place to happen, so it doesn't particularly concern me. But its just so nagging. I don't know whether its stress or sinus or what, but I just can't seem to get rid of it. I've had a headache off and on for a couple of weeks so. And of course it was not hurting when I was at the Va the other day. I do not like to take tylenol very often.

Normifyle you might want to check your blood pressure to make sure it's not that giving you a headache.

I am going to try to get some mullein salve made today if I have time. I have a lot I am trying to get caught up on.

There is an anecdotal story with the use of fresh mullein here. Very interesting!

Our Frisco loves to wallow in the grass on his back. Well, about an hour and a half ago, he did that right over the top of a fire ant mound. Poor thing is covered from head to toe in bites. He can't be still for scratching. I gave him a dose of Benadryl, and it's slowing it down some. I'll continue to give him the Benadryl as long as need be every 4 hours. At 70 lbs., I'm giving him one pill only. I might have to up the dose to 2 pills.

My Sam's and Walmart orders arrived, today. All of that has been put away. I finally sent off my Blair order. I'll be good to go with pants for a long time. I have plenty of fall and winter tops, pullovers, and sweaters. Can't think of anything else I might need for winter. Cary is good to go, too.

Guess I'll be playing vet all night tonight. He looks so miserable and is exhausted from scratching. I have a dog grooming brush, so I might help him out.

it is about 6:30 here and completely dark! I am not quite ready for that yet! Root cellar finished and sweet potatoes partially moved. Still working on that. Saturday is usually a football day for us working that around chores but today we did more chores than watching. Yesterday I swung by an Estate Sale and purchased a sweet small free standing cabinet. Got that painted and glassware moved into it. Everything is all put up and cleaned up. Was able to collect more medicinal stuff yesterday. Those preps are coming along nicely. Still looking for golden seal here in the woods. But honestly that is hardly work! Mostly fun!
Pray that all of you are feeling peaceful and content.

I think I've figured out the current cause of my headache. I started taking am rx for itching, Hydroxyzine Pamoate, headaches are a common side affect. I've taken it before and could not remember why I stopped taking it. Now I know.
Maybe try some Vicks under your nose, below your eyes, and on your forehead. I have headaches and migraines occasionally and it really helps me. I also have good results when I take ibuprofen and sip a Coke. I rarely take any meds and I don't drink soda unless I'm sick or have a headache or migraine. I do keep a case of Coke and Sprite on hand for these occasions though.

I've discovered that Hinoki Wood oil does a wonderful job with sinus issues. Enough so that I use it before I reach for Vicks.

Been a long day. We were up at the crack of dawn. I got to the Habitat Restore and was sorely disappointed. Their selection is drastically reduced and they are filling space with expensive retail items. I did find a long, mock wood tile to use as the shelf at the stove top. I did debate the box of custom tiles that would need to be put back together piecework style because the designs went across multiple tiles. But I had to admit that it would be years before I could consider using them. No matter how much I liked them.

Then Harbor Freight for clips to hold frost covers to arches. And Aldi for son's pretzels. Then one of my regular thrifts where I found a flat iron for sealing bags, and two more popcorn tins. The tins got used immediately as I dealt with a mouse in the pantry issue.

We finished with a run by Walmart for items for son. And a run by Lowes for pieces to connect the pex for arches and two outdoor faucet covers.

By the time we got home, both of us needed a nap. And then I fixed something for boss. And did some pantry reorganizing and cleaning. And spraying things down with the Grandpa Gus Rodent repellent.

Dinner tonight was pancakes with bacon bits. It's been a long time since I've done that. Poor son wanted so much to eat a big pile but his system is still messed up. He finally calmed when I told him that I'd heat them back up for lunch tomorrow.

I did not get garlic done today. I'm hoping to get it finished tomorrow. Then back to working the garden beds a little each day to get them tidied up for winter. But most of tomorrow is planned for cleaning the house and getting laundry done. Even though I'm only getting a little done at a time, I'm so happy for that little bit more of clean each day.

And If I have the energy, I'm going to take one of son's old fleece blankets and start turning it into "yarn". I got the largest knitting loom. I want to use his old blankets as yarn to knit him a few tubes put of them. But due to his sensory issues, I will actually have to sew the strips into tubes, so that anywhere that touches his body is just the soft side of the fleece. So each of these is going to take some time.
