BRKG ***CONFIRMED... Iran's Qassem Soleimani killed in US airstrike*** (i.e. BUCKLE UP!) - Iran counterattacks

If an Iranian missile battery shot down the plane, there may be a good chance of one or more battery operators having been compromised, and/or, the fire control system was hacked/instructed to fire without authorization.

Israelis are well known for such operations, in past events . . . observe at all of the current finger-pointing and confusion between the power-blocks - mission: accomplished.

I've read sources which indicate 3 meters on the low side, to 100 M on the high...
If you're using cluster bomb type warheads a 100 m CEP is pushing it. If on the hand you're using chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons a 100 m CEP is arguably a rounding error...

It looks like Iran is ready to start bombing its fake aircraft carrier again

Iran has a fake aircraft carrier.
  • Iran has a fake aircraft carrier that it uses for target practice as it trains to take on the US Navy, which routinely puts flattops and other surface vessels in the Persian Gulf and surrounding waterways.
  • Iran severely damaged its replica of a US Navy Nimtiz-class carrier during drills in 2015, and the ship, a painted barge designed to look like a carrier, sat like that for years.
  • Recent satellite photos taken by Planet Labs and first reported by Defence One show that Iran has completed or is close to completing repair work, meaning it may be preparing to start bombing the fake ship again.

Satellite images provided to Insider by Planet Labs and first reported by Defence One show that Iran appears to have completed or be close to completing repairs to its mock flattop, a painted barge resembling a US Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, after damaging it during target practice in 2015.

Iran first started constructing a mock-up of a US aircraft carrier in 2014, CNN reported at the time, citing satellite photos of the work being done at the port of Bandar Abbas. The purpose of the carrier construction project was not immediately clear.

Following the CNN report, Rear Adm. Ali Fadavi, who was then commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval forces, revealed the point of the replica carrier

"We have been making and sinking replicas of US destroyers, frigates and warships for long years," he toldIranian media. "We practice the same drills on replica aircraft carriers because sinking and destroying US warships has, is and will be on our agenda."

In late February the following year, Iran announced that it had destroyed a mock aircraft carrier during the Payambar-e Azam 9 (The Great Prophet 9) war games in the Persian Gulf, where US carriers have routinely sailed for years in shows of force.

Iranian media claimed that the ship was destroyed by rockets fired from "tens of IRGC speedboats." The fake flattop was also struck by IRGC cruise and ballistic missiles, the report said.

The mock carrier was not actually destroyed, but it was damaged. It remained in such a state for years until Iran began actively working to repair it last fall amid heightened tensions with the US, which had deployed the USS Abraham Lincoln and thousands of additional troops to the US Central Command area of responsibility to confront Iran.

In October, one month before construction began, as Defence One reports, Brig. Gen. Amirali Hajizadeh, head of Iran's IRGC Aerospace Force, threatened US bases and carriers.

"Everybody should know that all American bases and their aircraft carriers in a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers around Iran are within the range of our missiles," he warned.

Hajizadeh's forces were recently involved in a missile strike on US and coalition forces in Iraq following a US drone strike the killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.

Bryan Clark, a defence expert and former US Navy officer, told Defence One that the mock-up could be used for major exercises in the spring, noting that Iran could use the fake flattop for cruise missile strikes, small boat attacks, and drone strikes.

Unless I find out evidence to disprove my theory. I'm assuming these were human sacrifices to attempt to remove Trump.

Pelosi assumed Iran would take hostages, and then assumed Trump would order immediate bombings. She can't send over the articles till she gets something to blame him on.

I am cautiously optimistic that this is over, but not letting down my guard. It is acceptable in Islam to lie to your enemy so I don't take anything Iran leadership says when they think they are in a state of war as honest. Has Trump called back all the military he sent to the region or are they still there? That falls under 'watch what they do', and would give an indication of how our military views the unfolding events.

For reference:

I posted this yesterday but will repeat it in light on new information - imho, the plane was not shot down by mistake. This was not an accident in the heat of the moment. So either,as Raven posted yesterday, they were hoping to blame it on the Americans (but if that's the case, they should've waited for at least some action from our side, not counted on it) or there was someone or something on board they wanted blown up.

So far, Trump has remained silent on the attack on the base earlier today. As long as no Americans are killed in these attacks, I think he will just bide his time. Waiting.....

Raven, the passenger list always including quite a number of Iranians, it just also had a lot of citizens from other countries - this is really getting tedious, and I think the public announcement that the US thinks the plane was shot down (as do quite a few other countries) is a lot more immediately important.

But even more important is if Iran is starting to lob projectiles at Americans again, that could lead to a re-run of the other day only with a lot larger action by the US.
so, Iranians were killed. Exactly what I said!
folks need to distinguish between "rocket" and "Ballistic/Cruise Missiles".
The significance is "rockets" are usually local launched by Iraqi Militias (Iranian backed or not) - launching a counter attack at the territorial sovereignty of Iran because of these would be problematic - I doubt the Administration will.
Another salvo of Ballistic or Cruise Missiles from the sovereign territory of Iran into the sovereign territory of Iraq is no less problematic, even with American casualties "because of the recent non binding Iraqi vote for our departure.
That "vote" by the rump of the Iraqi parliament has about as much authority as Pelosi's calls to change the rules for impeachement in the Senate, the Sunnis and Kurds walked out on the Shia who called for and voted on that "measure".
An attack against Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, or one of our Naval vessels could cause the kind of reprisal everyone expects
Trump has shown that he is going to be lawful - which is not always the easy thing.

And I seriously doubt Iran is going to do anything
a)until a great explanation is provided for the airliner
b) as long as Pelosi is trying to limit Trumps war powers - and I think they now know that just because something passes in the house does not make it a done deal.

The demo’s in Congress had a temper tantrum and voted to ‘restrict’ what Trump can do in Iran.

These freakin idiot’s are so mad he continually doesn’t fail and by association we the US fail that I expect stupid legislative temper tantrums all the way to the election.

Of course should some real world damage to US or are military happen because of their stupidity they will count on the media to try to tell us ignorant people in fly-over states it’s Trump’s fault.

Reports tonight of airstrikes in eastern Syria against a convoy of the Kataib Imam Ali, an Iranian backed Iraqi militia. Most likely by Israel, which regularly hits the area. A reminder that this isn’t just about the US & Iran

I have been waiting to see if/when Israel would get involved. This could be a game-changer.

We should drop one on it for them just to show them how to actually sink one

Iraqi Militia , supported by Iran , in Syria preparing for operations against Israel.
In legal terms, these are people in Syria who are not Syrian
Supported by Iran but not in Iran
From Iraq, but not regular Iraqi soldiers.

Target rich environment
Remember, they are Proxies for a reason and that is they cannot be tied directly back to Iran.
and that is a double edged sword that cuts both ways
