The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 20% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -22.
Thirty-nine percent (39%) hold at least a somewhat favorable view of the Occupy Wall Street protesters, while 55% have an unfavorable view. For the Tea Party activists, the numbers are more evenly divided: 44% favorable and 48% unfavorable. A video update shows Occupy protesters explaining why they think it’s important for them to stay.
Herman Cain trails the president by 10 points in a hypothetical 2012 match-up. A woman has gone on camera in Georgia claiming a 13-year affair with Cain. She presented phone records and other evidence of knowing Cain.
Republicans hold a five-point edge over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot.
