EBOLA Ebola Head Count

Would anyone be interested in an Ebola head count? For example.

1 - confirmed - Texas - Quarantined
80 - suspected - Texas - Contact Quarantine
1 - suspected - Hawaii - Cleared
2 - suspected - Kentucky - Pending
2 - suspected - Washington DC - Pending

Have I missed anyone? Has anyone's status changed?

Thoughts? Should we keep this going for a head count?

No stories just numbers. The story can be in the main or in a different thread. This would just be the "known" list.

There is an internet rumor going around that 1-2 children who were exposed to Mr. Ebola in Texas are in the hospital vomiting. I figure we won't know for sure for several days.

I want a countdown ticker too from point of contact. What day did he arrive in America? Or become symptomatic? I figure we have 21 days from THAT day to see just how crazy this is going to get. We are what day 3 of confirmation? But he was contagious way before that. The ticker should start the countdown from the day he became contagious.

Sept 15- had contact with ebola patient who died the next day (the 16th)

Sept 25- first "officially" symptomatic/infectious visit to the hospital, but all indicators ponit to him actually being infectious prior to that date

Sept 28- admitted to the hospital

The people with whom he shared an apartment with are quaratined until the 19th of October, but the all clear cannot be sounded unless NO other victims present infected in 42 days after the 25th of Sept. If someone does, the ticker starts all over with them.

Per normal guidelines he officially had symptoms on Sept 25th. when he went to the hospital the first time. Suspicion is he was infectious days before that.

Awesome thanks guys... I'd say we just start with the 25th then.

I wondered if this case was included in the 2 listed for Washington, DC........ if not, Holy Crap! If the Texas guy and the one at Howard U. hospital both flew into Dulles International, I wonder when Virginia will report their first case..... - maybe it's time to go visit the in-laws in Rio!

It is one of the two already listed for DC.

Also, the one in Georgia has been cleared as a negative. :)

Need to add the NBC Cameraman in Neb.

Did you see the video on the news of the ebola infected camera man arriving in ambulance walking out and get on the strecher, and all the fireman, emts, guys standing there with no protection gear on.

How many Countries around the world have ebola spreading in them. Is there a list for the global spread of ebola

How about that one child in Miami Florida?

A patient was tested for Ebola Sunday at a Miami-area hospital, Florida Gov. Rick Scott said. . . . . . . . . . . . . . WSVN.com in Miami/Fort Lauderdale reports that the patient is a child visiting the United States from West Africa. The patient was admitted to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach in the early morning and reportedly transferred to Holtz Children's Hospital in Miami in the early evening, according to the station.

Any new news on the status of our texas guy? Last I heard his kidneys had shut down? Is he improving or worsening?

What about the family he was in contact all those days while infectious??? Any of them showing signs yet?

IIRC:

Duncan is still in critical but stable condition on a ventilator and dialysis.

Louise (the GF), son and 2 nephews were moved to a "secure" location (a home in a gated community) and have not been heard from and/or reported on since.

Ms Troh, the step-daughter of Duncan and her husband were 'cleared to go back to work' before the 21 day watch period expired and with, ostensibly, no blood work to R/O active disease but decided not to return to work yet.

Please be more specific than just a state. Florida has two that I heard of: Miami & Sarasota. Sarasota has gone underground... no word on whether it is ebola, yet there has been plenty of time to know. This makes me think it is ebola.

Latest status was that he is critical but stable. Don't know what that implies? He's getting Experimental drugs as someone else reported. Lost the links to those sites.

Other people;
Officials said there are 10 people who have been determined to have had contact with Duncan. Of those, seven are health care workers and three are family or community contacts.

Thirty-eight other people — including Lively — are people who authorities could not rule out as having had some kind of contact. All 48 of them will be tracked during the 21-day incubation.

None of those individuals has presented any symptoms of the virus, officials said

Since there are more than 1 city with cases now in Florida, it might be good to just mention the city, to make sure we are clearing all of them.

Sarasota is cleared. Although it looks like they did not test this one.

A patient who arrived at Sarasota Memorial Hospital last week with Ebola-like symptoms has been released from care, the hospital announced Monday.

The patient did not meet the risk criteria for Ebola testing, according to the hospital. Though his travel history included West Africa, it did not include “high-risk Ebola countries.”

Looking at too and I'm starting to thing that tracking both city and state is going to be the only way to keep track of who is confirmed, cleared or pending.

Thanks for the suggestion LightEcho...

Earlier on Monday, public health officials in Delaware confirmed there is no Ebola case there, after reports surfaced that a Kent County child had been evaluated for the disease over the weekend, after she had recently traveled to West Africa.

In New Jersey, two false alarms were reported in the past two months — in Freehold in August, and Roselle in September. Both patients had traveled to West African countries in the weeks before falling ill.

Thomas Eric Duncan died Wednesday morning in Texas, according to the hospital where he had been treated for Ebola.

Duncan, the first person ever diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, died at 7:51 a.m., according to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Tex.

“He fought courageously in this battle,” the hospital said in a statement.” Our professionals, the doctors and nurses in the unit, as well as the entire Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas community, are also grieving his passing. We have offered the family our support and condolences at this difficult time.”
