Prelim results came back NEGATIVE, however, they are waiting for the official CDC results to come back in a day or two.

The Centers for Disease Control, Dallas County and Texas Presbyterian Hospital are now monitoring about 125 people for signs of Ebola, but no one is showing symptoms of the deadly virus at this time.

About 75 other health care workers came into contact with Duncan, and they are being monitored closely. Another 48 people who came into contact with Duncan outside of the hospital are still being monitored, but Frieden says they have passed two-thirds of the risk period for showing symptoms.

CDC is asking to contact passengers on TWO FLIGHTS this second nurse took. TO AND FROM CLEVELAND..probably over 250 passengers!! FLIGHT 1142 AND THE LATER, FLIGHT 1143 home to Dallas.

A patient was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center from the Mobile County Health Department Monday at 6:50 p.m. to be tested for Ebola.USA Medical Center Emergency Department and Infectious Disease specialists evaluated the patient. The Health Department says the patient was around family who traveled form the Republic of Congo. After a thorough examination was conducted, it was determined that the patient did not meet the Centers for Disease Control screening criteria, and there is no risk for Ebola. In retrospect, and now that we know this is how they are "counting the days" as well, I think Duncan's start day should be 9/29 since ALL of the authorities base the 21 day count on the most RECENT/LAST day of possible exposure (as in they went into isolation) NOT the "first day of symptoms".

The whole purpose of the 21 day countdown is to make sure that the full 21 day course can be monitored. The LAST possible exposure date starts the clock ticking so that the typical 21 day incubation period can be measured from that point.

So the Duncan bunch is really on day 17 at this point (to be safe)...as measured from the 29th when he went into isolation (after being in the common ER for a day or so from the 28th through some point on the 29th). Depending on if the folks in Dallas are counting from the 28th or 29th, the 21 days are over on either October 19th or October 20th.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS Tampa/AP) — A patient at a Jacksonville hospital is undergoing testing for possible Ebola.
First Coast News reports that the patient is undergoing testing at Baptist Health. The patient reportedly had contact with a traveler from West Africa.
“We have admitted a patient with common flu-like symptoms (but no fever) who is being tested for Ebola on the basis of self-reported casual contact with a West Africa traveler. This patient is in isolation and is being monitored closely for their protection as well as the safety of our team members and the community,” the hospital said in a statement to First Coast News.
The statement continued: “There is no confirmation that this patient has Ebola; in fact, that diagnosis is highly unlikely. We are exercising extreme caution and are using CDC protocols to rule out the Ebola virus, for everyone’s peace of mind.”

So the Duncan bunch is really on day 17 at this point (to be safe)...as measured from the 29th when he went into isolation (after being in the common ER for a day or so from the 28th through some point on the 29th). Depending on if the folks in Dallas are counting from the 28th or 29th, the 21 days are over on either October 19th or October 20th.

BUT, now that they are saying it could actually be 42 days of incubation......all those 'cleared' could actually be carriers. It boggles the mind.

Jury is out on this one in my mind... right now I don't think they know what they hell they know... At this point it's spectulation as far as I'm concerned... But if at some point 42 days becomes the new standard I will change it... Thanks for input LilRose...

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A patient is being evaluated at Yale-New Haven Hospital at this hour with Ebola-like symptoms, according to a statement from the hospital.

A physicians document obtained by News 8 says, “On Wednesday evening Yale-New Haven Hospital admitted a patient who met the threshold to be monitored for Ebola virus disease(EVD). The Hospital is working with the CDC and Prevention and the State Department of Public Heath to have the patient tested for EVD.”

News 8 Medical Reporter Jocelyn Maminta has talked to a credible source with the hospital who says the patient is one of the Yale Researchers who just returned from a trip to Liberia on Monday. This is one of the same researchers officials decided not to have quarantined after their trip to Africa.

News 8 has a crew at Yale-New Haven Hospital and will post information as soon as it becomes available.
