New member as of the past week. My sister sent me to TB2K a few weeks ago. I've been lurking about and wanted to be a part of this insightful site.

Hey everybody! I'm new to the forum, and I just wanted to introduce myself. I recently (within the last 5 years) have gained any interest in being prepared for natural disasters every since I found out that my home of Memphis is right on top a giant fault line (New Madrid).
I thought I would post here because I initially became aware of this site thru one of the stories on this site called 'Overthrown: Death to America'. I think it's particularly prophetic in light of what's going on in the world. From my understanding the author T.O. Dean posted under the screen name 'Day Late'. Is he still active on the forum by any chance?

There seems to be a healthy group posting here and as I read through many of the post I had the sense that this forum would fit me. Read some things that disturbed me, some that I agreed with, and others that I felt I needed to respond to.
Now I am a member. So lets see if I can add to the wealth here.

Greetings. Posting per the new member requirements. Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. However, the times we live in are not a result of recent developments. We can probably go back thousands of years and still see the same behavior going on today. Problem is, the reach of our technology has marched on with great abandon while psychologically, I wonder, if we have evolved at all.

Thanks Deena for accepting my request for inclusion in this elite assembly.
Due to various glitches in e mail servers, including most of my incoming mail getting shunted to the "Trash" folder on Thunderbird) it took a while for us to get connected.
Also thanks to Friend "Jed" for introducing me to this fascinating place somewhere back around 2004 (or thereabouts) and I've been a regular lurker ever since.
Most members are so knowledgeable and articulate, I haven't really felt qualified to add much to the discussion - although at times have been tempted to.
Have a blog on Wordpress, although it's not very interactive and sometimes I feel like I'm writing on a brick wall in a remote location, so I kind of let it go.
Feel free to go there and poke around, however, if you'd like a better sense of who I am and where I'm coming from:

Anyway, I'm Jonas, redneck Rebel prepper from somewhere in the South. Just reporting in.
Gonna get the hang of TB2K soon. Just need to adjust to the "new ways" (for me) here. Been a lurker for many years.
