Celestial Space Weather/Sun Spot

I've researched the electric universe idea extensively. That name came up in the research.
From one of his videos;

Parse that out a moment. If your answer isn't coming up with bovine excrement your not done parsing. Primer doesn't meet the definition for a theory by a long shot. You have to stretch the definition of hypothesis to make it fit.
Now try to find information on 'David Lapoint', any degrees, associations, etc. Bottom line is, electric universe is demonstrably BS. Here are some of the EU claims;

*Einstein's postulates are wrong.
*General relativity is wrong.
Atomic clocks on gps and other satellites have to account for relativity. The same for probes sent throughout the system. Someone may quibble with finner details of GR, but its effects have been proven empirically.

*The Universe is not expanding.
Red shift (moving away) and blue shift (moving towards) of light from stars to our system along with direct observations from hubble etc have proven that idea false.

*The electric force travels faster than the speed of light with near-infinite velocity.
Speed of electrical charges passing through a medium can in fact be measured.

*Gravity has two poles like a bar magnet; dipole gravity.
That gets into serious woo woo realm with no physical or mathematical proof.

*Planets give birth to comets.
Between NASAs deep impact, ESA rosetta missions, and a myriad of spectrometry observations the composition of comets has been established. They did not, nor could not have come from a planet.

*Stars do not shine because of internal nuclear fusion caused by gravitational collapse. Rather, they are anodes for galactic discharge currents.
Spectrometry of our sun, samples from solar wind, and a host of other evidence says that's BS.

*Impact craters on Venus, Mars and the Moon are not caused by impacts, but by electrical discharges. The same applies to the Valles Marineris (a massive canyon on Mars) and the Grand Canyon on Earth.

Shoemaker levy 9 impact, impacts on mars, the moon, and even here on earth have been directly or video graphically observed. Impact craters here have yielded multiple meteor fragments. This is one of the more egregious lines of BS they try to sell.

I could go on for a month of Sundays on this. Whomever this Lapoint is, tried to build on what Thornhill and Talbott put out for the EU idea.

People are free to make up their own minds, but I do wish they'd at least try to use them first.

What LaPoint did is show how things work and its simple and elegant in its simplicity. There are a good number of astrophysicists that have accepted this theory. The primer field theory made sense and it also explains a few things they have tried to come up with a reasonable explanation for but nothing seemed to fit or was just not right.

We will have to agree to disagree.

That was the whole point of his effort. To cash in on pseudoscience imo.
I would be curious to know who these astrophysicists are?

I'm not checking every day, but we have gone two days with out sunspots. That last Micro sunspot should even be counted as a sunspot.

We racked up another 5 days bringing the offical total to 100 spotless day to the year 2017. Mind you this looks like another micro sunspot that back during the maunder minima Mr. Maunder would be able to see with his 1 1/2" telescope.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We are back to a spotless sun again and with only two days left to the year 2017.
The total count is now 102 spotless days and looks like it will make 104.

Ok; the official total spotless sun day's count for 2017 is 104. This current stretch that just started just 3 days ago and continues on into the new year 2018, only time will tell how this round will go.

Publius

TB Fanatic
Starting the Year 2018.

Looks like it went 6 days before a new sunspot showed up and 4 days into the new year 2018, it may goi one one or two days before we go back to spotless again.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We've gone one day spotless making five spotless day for the year 2018 and if it keeps up at the pace it was the last half of 2017 we may end up with close to 182 spotless days.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We're currently in a four day stretch of no sunspots. There was a number of small sunspots that appeared one at a time out of nowhere and then faded only to be replaced with another and not back to spotless.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We have had a few spotless days and only to have another sunspot show up the next day and a few of them were short lived, so yeah on and off again.

Today were are spotless and into day one of a new stretch of spotless sun.
A little excerpt from Space Weather!

"The Sun is Blank: The face of the sun is blank again today. The absence of sunspots heralds the approach of Solar Minimum. Sunspot numbers rise and fall with an - 11 year period, slowly oscillating between Solar Max and Solar Min. In 2018, the pendulum is swinging toward a deep minimum expected to reach nadir (*) durning the next 2 years.

(*nadir meaning lowest point)

New Sunspot emerging breaking the 9 day string of spotless days.

This brings the total number of spotless days for 2018 to 27 days and thats 47% of the year without sunspots.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We are in another Spotless string and has gone 6 days bringing the total up to 34 spotless days and making it 51% of 2018 without Sunspots.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We have racked up 40 days and 40 nights without sunspots, bringing the total spotless count to 40 days and it being March 16 making it 54% of the year of 2018 without sunspots.
Today one very little micro sized sunspot has popped up out of nowhere and even the experts are saying its nearly invisible and may be gone by tomorrow.

As predicted the micro sized sunspot came and went and back to no sun spot's and now at 41 spotless days.

Publius

TB Fanatic
Its getting crazy we now have another micro sunspot that popped up and it too may be gone in the next 24 hours or less.
At one time we could not detect such small sunspots and would go unnoticed.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We are in a new string of spotless days and have now gone 6 days without sunspots.
Its now 47 days with no sun spots and making it 56% of the year without sunspots.
I let it go and not reporting seeing how these micro sunspots were poping up out of nowhere.
The precentage of spotless days can change over night and the count swing in the other direction and we just have to wait and see how it all plays out for the year 2018, but right now its not looking good.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We just went 10 days without sunspots and now have another micro sunspot.
From january to today in march makes 89 days into the year 2018 and so far we have racked up 52 days without sunspots and making it 58% of the of the year without sunspots.

So we are now 89 days into the year 2018 and that now makes 52 spotless days and only 32 days with sunspots and a number of these sunspots were very small (micro sized) and a few disappeared a day or hours later.

Publius

TB Fanatic
And back to blank sun again, the sunspot that appeared has faded about one quarter was the way with the suns rotation.

Publius

TB Fanatic
Its April 10 making it 100 days into the year 2018 and out of that 100 days we have gone 61 days without Sunspots, at this point and time makes 61% of the year without Sunspots.

As of right now we are into a 9 day stretch and have a tiny sunspot trying to form almost dead center of the Sun.

Publius

TB Fanatic
To date we've gone 114 days into the year 2018 and only had 22 sunspots and right now we have just one visable sunspot and there was two but it faded.
The spotless day count is still 67.

Publius

TB Fanatic
Back to blank sun as in spotless. new round of spotless days and it day one with 68 spotless days. The percentage of the year is now 57% and it's because of the resent micro sized sunspot and the time/day's it took for its transit across the sun in it's rotation. The percentage of of the year of spotless days will change with any given number of sunspots that may appear at any given time during the corse of the year.

We had 104 spotless days for the year 2017 and continuing into 2018 may make for one of the coolest summers in decades and really it's to soon to tell as it has not happened yet.

Publius

TB Fanatic
We have a new sunspot that emerged out of nowhere and it seems to be falling apart and fading, and there may be another sunspot rotating into view.
As of now we are at 73 spotless days.

Thanks for continuing to post this info. Goes along quite well with the solar minimum thread.

We went a few days with some very small sunspots and nw back to spotless and first day now makes it 74 spotless days for 2018.

Publius

TB Fanatic
As of today for the year 2018 we have racked up 79 spotless days and if we get another 25 spotless days we will have tied the year 2017 for 104 spotless days.

Update; it looks like the grand solar minima is taking the day off! As of right now we officially have two sunspots and a third one seems to be coming about, Still at 80 spotless days for the year so far.

That's good news. I will continue to pray that this *won't * be a Grand Minima... I'm really not up to handling the cold, snow and struggle it will involve here on the farm!

We're back to spotless again after having a few sunspots and restarting again with 81 spotless days and counting.

Judging from what's happening in the Southern Hemisphere, the Grand Solar Minimum is here. Next winter will be twice as bad as the one last time.

Day by day
Thank you, von Koehler, for your thoughts!

The drought that I feared does appear to be happening in my area, we haven't had rain in weeks and our temps every single day are in the upper 90s. Last night the DFW area had baseball-sized hail, lots of property damage, but the storms lost their punch as they approached us and just fizzled out. We need the rain, but certainly not the drama and damage. We are now pumping into our stock ponds every night to keep water levels up. They are evaporating at a rate we wouldn't normally see until August.

If I remember correctly, the solar minimum not only gives us colder and extended winters, but weather extremes - violent storms, drought, etc...well, we do seem to be there. As much as I hated downsizing our herd, now that our grass is beginning to go dormant due to drought it was the right thing to do. If this keeps up we'll have to consider stocking hay and feed against rising prices and shortages as other ranchers start to feed their animals when the grazing dries out. Normally we can graze all summer and into fall without needing hay and cattle cubes until winter. We may well have to begin feeding our herd in a few weeks.

This is beginning to look like a nightmare.

Indeed hail is a major problem right now-it has wiped out a lot of the French vineyards for example.

Drought in Texas could be a major problem. Can you bring in fodder or hay? Costs?

Can you downsize your herd to the best, core breeding stock?

I afraid you may be right and what we're seeing globally fits the weather patern that happened 400 years ago.

We're into day 7 of a new spotless stretch and makes for 87 spotless days so far this year (2018) and 17 more spotless days to go we will have matched the year 2017 for 104 spotless days.

Indeed. The winter of 2017/2018 was merely the start of The Grand Solar Minimum. Next winter season is predicted to be twice as bad, and 2024 looks to be especially severe.

As for the weather 400 years ago there was no official record kept back then. But sometime about 7-8 years ago a small group of people in europe decided to try and find some clues of what really happened.
Digging into and going over old archives revealed little, so someone suggested going to some of the older monasteries around europe and sure enough they allowed them to have a look and even helped them and they found enough written about daily life to give them a very good idea of what took place over passage of many years. The rain's and storms they have seen in europe over the last few years is only the beginning.
So unless the Sun does a complete turn around it's only going to get colder and how bad it will get this time around? No one really knows it's almost imposable to predict what may happen more than a year or two out into the future and even then it's a shot in the dark.
