I just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank those of you who were able to assist me in getting the RV. I couldn't have done it without you! I take delivery on Tuesday, and I'll take a bunch of pics to post. Again, I apologize for posting that thread, but I felt it was pretty much my only chance to get ahead of the homeless issue that's looming in my future. (We were homeless as a family in 1992 as well, and once that happens, you never get over it.)

It's going to be an odd feeling to finally not have to worry about what my future holds for a place to stay. And I also want to thank those of you who have offered a place for me to park the thing and stay. I haven't yet replied to you all (but I WILL), and have printed out all the information you've provided. When "that time" comes, I may well give one or more of you a call.

Words can never adequately express my feelings about all you've done, but God knows how I feel. I'll never forget your kindness, and will always try to "pay it forward" to others in need, for the rest of my life.

Thank you.

Dennis, there's always an RV spot in a particular driveway here on the Front Range.

And we're VERY pooch-friendly.

And there's always work out here in our Tech Center.

Boy, getting your RV now could be one of those "just in time" thingys.

And I'm not talking about losing your house. Lot's of rockin' and rollin' happening on this planet right now. :spns:

So glad it's worked out for you Dennis, you were well past due for a break and to have something go your way for a change. That has to be a huge relief off of your mind now knowing that you and the pups will have a home come what may.

Cool

That is cool Dennis. Good luck getting the pups in there... :) <probably like us getting our micro-dogs / mini-dogs through the doggy door the first few times.>

Den,
Although I live in an apartment, Arizona is a very "snowbird" friendly state. There are lots of RV parks here in the Valley of the Sun!! Also, we have the best gun laws in the universe and are scheduled to be the beachfront when Kalifornication plops into the ocean!!!

Dennis, I think we are just all very happy for you, that now you have a home, shelter , and a place of you own, for you and your fur pups. that is what is important, that you all will be together in a place of you own. that is wonderful news. the very best news .
IF ya ever come on this side of the lake let us in michigan know.

I'm so glad it worked out for you, I know what its like to be homeless. We were rudderless for over three years after Katrina.

Blessings to you,

Judy

Hmmmmm, what a coincidence Dennis. DH is going to pick up our 5th Wheel this evening as well. You found a place to live and we're getting another place ready to live in since all the current pros seem to think this summer will be the hurricane party from hell. I won't go homeless again and since our camper is currently at school in Florida with my youngest living in it we needed a back-up for the back-up if ya know what I mean. Wishing you the very best.

Wow, just wow. Dennis, that is so nice, no wonder you didn't want to let it get away. Nice home you have there.

WOW, that's bigger than my first house!

And BTW, if you put flames on it, you CAN'T park it in front of my house. ;)

Dennis,

Congrats and the RV looks dope!!!

If you're in the East Tennessee area you have a place to park at my house.

Now, Dennis....you need some leopard-print curtains and a zebraskin bedspread for the "magic back room."

And don't forget to paint it bright cherry red with "Dennis' Sin Den" on the side.

Playing Bob Seger's "Roll Me Away" in your honor. We will expect you and the dogs for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll park the cars in the street so you can have the driveway.

It has two TVs, one in the front between the seats (as can be seen), and one in the bedroom in the back on a "pull-out" shelf (old-style, not HD - I don't care). There is a DVD player and a VCR in it (kinda kludgy instal there, but I can fix it - heh). There is a cable and a phone inlet at the service panel under one side. If you look closely at some of the trim inside (plastic woodgrain), you'll notice some warping. Musta got really hot in there. Also there is some external paint-fade which is to be expected as well. Also, the cowlings over the A/C units on the roof are in kind-of bad shape, but the "guts" are fine underneath. If I ever get a job again, I'll repalce those parts and re-seal the roof just to be SURE that there are no leaks. According to the guy I picked it up from, this RV has always been a Minnesota unit, which means that it was never "baked" for long periods in the desert southwest.

The dash A/C is inoperative (needs a compressor and an air dryer), and the cruise control isn't working. Also, the front windshields have been kind-of sloppily siliconed in a few places. Again, IF I ever get work again, I'd like to have the windshields remounted in new seals. All-in-all, not a bad unit. Has some issues, but nothing major. I'm taking it to have an alignment done as a precaution ($165!!) to make sure I get all the life out of the tires that I can.

Thanks again to all of you for your kindness and moral support, and for those that could get the cash to me fast enough to convince the guy to hold it for me. When I can manage to get the pups inside, I'll take more pics of them there....

ETA: First thing I did was to pickup the new mattress and install it. I have a pad and short-sheet set coming in the mail as well.
