Dennis, I think it looks beautiful. Maybe someday DH and I can get a camper. Enjoy it with your babies.

Take care and God Bless

Congratulations on your new rig and you new home! If you haven't already you should come join us at the RV.Net forum for any other questions you may have. It was very handy when we first got our class A three years ago.

Happy trails, man!

Dennis, congratulations. It's beautiful. By the way, you inspired me to finally get in gear and buy something. We should be picking up tomorrow a used bumper pull. It will be good to have it here.

Your gonna need some of these.

Saved, to glorify God.
That's all I'd need. I'm sure it will be all you need too. Big dose of freedom AND security combined. Also simplifies life without all the "house", yard and other fixed property headaches. You do have to pay close attention to maintenance especially preventing leaks, but nothing comes without it's own set of priorities.

You are writing a whole new chapter in your life, an adventurous and exciting one. May God bless, and prosper you and lead you, guard and sustain you. May you find many good people to share your joys and sorrows and one special one to be your real soul mate.

Awesome deal Dennis! I'm so glad that this worked out for you and it's a real testament to the type of people who hang out on TB2K that those who had the ability stepped forward and helped make this goal a reality for you. 3 cheers for those TB2Ker's!!! Hip hip hooray, Hip hip hooray, Hip hip hooray!!!

This cooperative attainment of an important goal is an integral part of what TB2K is all about, what we all talk about daily and what we hope to achieve should the need arise in our uncertain future. Where else can you find such kind and considerate people? It is becoming increasingly difficult to find the caliber of people we find here at TB2K, in all walks of life, but particularly in spoiled America.

It is heartening to see and should bring some spark of hope to us all.

Sid Vicious (post #47), I'll bet the cops just LOOOVE you when they pull you over.
(Lemme see, I caught him doin' 65 in a 40, but now I'm gonna write him for not wearin' a seat belt, burned-out right stop light, talkin' on his cell while drivin', and I'm gonna just arrest him too!)

It looks great!
I can't wait to see pics of the dogs lounging on the bed. :)
Have they been inside yet?
What a relief this is for you. Now you can have some peace of mind.

Warthog, it's to live in when the foreclosure on my house is complete sometime in early november. Since I cannot count on a job anymore (who among us CAN these days?), I needed something that the pups and I could live in if necessary. So IF I were to (through some miracle) actually get a job, I could use it to travel around and meet TBers. How I'd LOVE to do that! If not, I'll find a place to park it and live as best I can. I said I'd never give up the pups no matter what. I meant it.

No, Odin and Hermione have not yet been inside. I just got the thing home at about 7 PM past night, which was too late to try and acclimate them. I had to drag out the old mattress (you should've seen it - it was ragged and thrashed), and got all the paperwork out so I could review it this morning. In about 20 minutes or so, I'm going to go to the bank and get the last installment in cash, and go pay the former owner and get the final Bill of Sale.

On Friday, I take it to Eau Claire for a front-end alignment just to make sure that everything is okay in that regard. After that, I can "hit the road" if need be with a fair degree of confidence. (The alignment is $165!!! gag!) I have "AAA RV Plus" which will protect me if I ever have a breakdown.

Thats quite a boat you landed yourself there Dennis! I myself would find it hard to drive such a beast, but i understand you drove trucks so it should be no biggie.

Even though a nice size i see you will have to pare down what you bring with you once you leave the house. That will be tough i reckon to decide what's essential. You have a few months to figure that out i suppose.

Does that thing have rear cameras on it? If not, and if it were me i would install one. Also, these things are like planes imo, and before taking off should go through a full maintenance checklist. I assume you'll have one of those and are mechanically inclined to notice stuff gone awry.

Its a big step what you plan to do but i think you're on the right track!

I'm sure the doggies will be fine btw. If they are with you they'll probably be happy. Just hope one doesn't get motion sickness in a swaying rv, because that would suck.

Nice motorhome Dennis! The floor looks familiar. I think that's the same floor we had in ours years ago. I hope it serves you and the pups well.

Nice land yacht!

Those side luggage compartments will come in handy to store puppy chow in.

Just open the door and fill their bowls.

No more lugging around 50 pound bags of chow.

Good find, I am happy for you!

Dennis, I have no idea what your resume looks like but I see Craigslist has 18 Programmer jobs listed. Some of them look pretty good, makes me almost tempted to un-retire. I also notice fewer of the listings have stuff like "H-1 Visa required" (translation: Americans need not apply.)
Maybe things are turning around.
Good luck and God bless.

ETA: That is 18 jobs just in Portland OR.

The end times are here.
Eventually, you'll need to dump the "black tank". You should check into the Sewer Solution. People love 'em. They turn a disgusting job into a pretty easy, non-stinky job.

Sorry to hear of this Forclouser, I've been quite busy with my brother and his brain tumor, sorry I missed this. It might work out better for you if we all end up on the run some day. Park it deep in the woods and live as far away from the system as you can!

Wow that is gorgeous! :)

When you are on the road with it, write down every experience you had and person you met that day, before you go to sleep.

I was on the road in a VW campervan, for almost 2 years, and I really wish I had written down all my journeys.

Just think of all those adventures that lie ahead.

It's put a big grin on my face anyway, bringing back fond memories of my old pup Danny (a liver and white Border Collie that was way too smart for his health, hehe) and me adventuring together. :vik:

I might be tempted to store preps in the bedroom and sleep on the sofa, but that just me. When you are on the road you can "carry" some of your preps in your vehicle that you are towing. I knew a couple that converted a school bus in to an RV and they had prep stuff in enclosed carriers on the roof. They were very inventive about storage.

Best of luck to you.

I spent most of the day driving to Eau Claire to re-title the thing and get plates. I decided to introduce the pups to the RV one at a time. Today, I took Hermione out to it. She climbed right in and wandered around. I invited her up on the bed and she hopped right up and lay down. She sniffed the whole RV and climed into the driver's set (of course - LOL). Tomorrow I'll bring Odin out and see how that goes. He's MUCH more skittish. And Rastech, your idea about journaling my RV life is a great one!

Dennis, I dont post much but that is a good looking rv. Having done the same as you 6 years ago I know exactly where you are. Dont fret, having your own home on wheels is a wonderful thing. We have survived and thrived and now are in a good place. It took a while but we have learned to live with out many of the things we thought were important. We now know what is important, our family and a roof over our head.
