Last week I started herb, onion and flower seeds dated 2015 and got 99% germination so storing them in the frig is definitively a worthwhile use of that space.

Today I finished planning my spring, summer and fall veg garden. That's a big job because of all the HOA rules in my suburban locale. I have to garden via edible landscaping - so no corn - but I can sneak in more food than anyone realizes. Neighbors don't even recognize food when they see it in the ground. Fingers crossed for a great harvest.

Ordered more vegetable seeds today. OMG ya'all it's almost embarrassing how many seeds I have. I just can't help myself when the catalogs start rolling in and I start dreaming about growing, eating, canning and sharing!

Today I ate my first fresh, crunchy, organic, salad from the "salad wall." Right before Christmas I built a 4' long, to the ceiling, wall of shelves with high-intensity LED shop lights for Kratky indoor growing - spinach, tatsoi, bok choy, lunchbox peppers, cucumbers, lettuces and my new favorite: micro dwarf tomatoes. Everything for a great salad!

If you haven't tried growing micro-dwarf toms you really should. These plants grow to about 12" tall and wide while putting out gobs of cherry toms. Perfect for winter indoor growing and better than toms from the grocery. Check them out at www.dwarftomatoproject.net. Got my seeds from Heritage Seed Market. Search their site quick for micro-dwarf tomato if you want to try because seeds are selling out.

Next week if the weather is nice enough to have the windows open, I'm thinking of building window boxes for my second story windows. If I make the boxes the width of the window + shutters, they will be 5' long,1' x 1' deep and wide. I plan to plant sweet potatoes in the window boxes and allow the vines to hang down. I still have to work out automated watering for them but if all goes well I'm hoping for 20 to 25 lbs of sweet pot harvest from each window.
