Never had a flu shot. Never will. Haven't had flu since 1984. I am 63. Try to keep poison out of my body.

bitch at people who don't/won't cover their mouths and noses when they're hacking and sneezing in public ( I'll embarrass you if you're with me the way I yell at people lol)

This x 1000. What is it with the epidemic of stupid I am seeing recently. Bunch of ill bred losers. I can't believe how many people I am seeing coughing and sneezing without covering their mouths. Who raised these morons? I hope I make through cold and flu season without punching someone. This is a huge pet peeve for me.

Yep. Get your poisons injected directly in your bloodstream. By-pass all your God-created systems to fight off bad things. THAT will help your immune system.

Sheep you better get your vaccines, time is running out!

/sarcasm off

First off, there is no strain defined on what type of flu virus will be running around this year but yet you will be vaccinated with a best guess of what might work and lower your immune system at the same time by inoculating mercury at the same time and lowering your immune system to other things... like ebola.

Yeah I will pass.

Let's Go Brandon!
My mom works at a school cafeteria, so she pretty much had to what with all those little virus incubators running around. Dad joined in so as to have a better way to not pass it on to her.

Me, I telecommute, so no plans to do so here.

Get your Sambucol** now!!!!! is my reply to the OP. Don't be promoting that flu shot shit to me!!!

**or other elderberry product or homemade blend.

Also, vitamin C, vitamin D, garlic, zinc, Epicor. God provided us with natural things to boost our immune systems. What I have heard about the flu shot is that it suppresses your immune system for quite a while.

Got mine for the first time in years about a month ago.

I made sure I got the vial that is one time use and not the one that they keep dipping numerous needles into.

I don't trust anyone to not accidentally touch the rubber stopper and then shove a new needle into the juice and contaminating the whole vial. No Way!

I also got my shingles vax too. Done! V

LOL!!! I agree about them and their snot-nosed kids. I was raised with rules and one of those was to cover my mouth when I coughed or sneezed.

Now I use my arm which is the new rule, I guess.

Our family chooses not to vaccinate... but this situation is a game-changer... We might have to in order to avoid the ramifications of going to a doctor and automatically being labeled into the Ebola "pool".

This year will also be the first year ever that I am going to get my flu shot.

DH and I both got the flu shot this year. DH gets one at work and I got one at CVS yesterday. I am feeling some general achiness and tenderness in my shoulder today, but an over the counter pain reliever takes away most of the discomfort. This is a typical side effect from a flu shot for me and goes away in a couple of days. I have not had the bad flu in many years and usually get an annual flu shot. I hope they guessed right on the flu strains that will be floating around this year.

I worked in big pharma for a long time before retiring and know first hand the quality control that goes into the manufacture of medicines, at least where I worked. I have confidence that the vaccines are safe. Pharma does not make money on vaccines, they are produced as a public service. They are lucky if they break even on the cost.

A voice of reason in a thread full of 1/4 truth, outright lies oft repeated, fear and hyperbole.

I get my flu shot....and what do ya know...even though I'm round THOUSANDS of people with the flu each year, the vax works.

Just like for polio.

You know, you all should just skip the polio vax while you are at it.

OMG...

No thanks. Gratefully i don't get the flu every year. I didn't get the flu 2013 - 2014 season and so far so good now. I let my own immune system fight the flu.

And all y'all who do -- why the hell do you want to jump all over those of us who don't?
If you have your flu shot then we shouldn't be a problem to you, right?

I'll be getting another pneumonia shot, flu shot and probably another tdap shot.

Hey, maybe I should wait a month or two until they get the ebola vaccine in full production.

They are already testing the Canadian Ebola vaccine on human volunteers right now.
It's been 100% successful in animals, I wonder if that's going to translate over in humans.
They also say the vaccine is effective if taken in the early stages after infection or exposure.

I got the flu shot a week ago, and am fine. No side effects - not even any soreness at the injection site.

I posted this last year on a flu vaccine thread, but it bears repeating. Until 1987, I never got the flu shot. I would get the flu at least once every winter ... whichever strains were around, I got. In 1987, I was diagnosed with asthma, and became eligible for routine flu shots. I have gotten the shot every year since then, and have gotten the flu only once - in 1998 or 1999, when the shot did not match the virus that came around. I have occasionally had shot side effects - a sore upper arm, or some fatigue ... but never any allergic reaction and never any fever.

1953-1987: no shot, and flu every winter
1988-2014: annual shots, and flu only once. No H1n1, no swine flu, etc.

I do boost the odds in my favor by taking Vitamin D3 daily (2000 IU); I have been doing this since 2009. So far, so good ... and with the supplement, my D levels are in the normal range.

My advice: get the shot.

The new hype this year is get your flu shot so you don't get hauled away for ebola quarantine. I am not surprised about the general public buying into it, but I am surprised so many on this board do.

What about enteroviruses and noroviruses? They seem more like ebola with all the vomiting. Where are the vaccines for those?

And then there are the stupid doctors that still prescribe antibiotics for viruses.

BTW, I live in a climate with pretty weak sunshine, and I take 6,000 IU of D3 daily.

May 1, 2009:
Jesus said: "My people, I have given you many messages concerning chemtrails where your government is purposely putting viruses in them to lower your people's immune systems and cause upper respiratory infections. This is all part of the death culture people who are trying to reduce the population so the one world people have less people to control. Many of these scare diseases are man-made and this latest swine flu is another excuse for involuntary quarantines for wherever the one world people want to control. This name of swine flu has even confused people that they did not want to eat pork, so now the media is using H1N1 as a new name. I have told you in the past (2-8-08, 2-18-08, 4-25-08) to avoid taking flu shots because they will be giving you live viruses that could spread disease instead of preventing it. There have been reports in your literature that one drug company has in fact put live Avian flu virus in a bird flu vaccine (4). I am warning you again that this new vaccine for swine flu will be made by similar companies which could spread the disease more than prevent it. The death culture people are more intent on reducing the population than preventing any epidemic. I know these are difficult warnings, but there are evidences to defy nature and cause more deaths in the population. AIDS and ebola are other examples of this same man-made manipulation by the one world people. As these diseases mutate, it will become necessary for My faithful to go to My refuges where you will be healed of these diseases by looking on My luminous cross and drinking the healing spring water. Having masks, taking Hawthorn herbs, and vitamins will also build up your immune system to fight these viruses."

I wish the public knew how many nurses from the local hospital who were required to take the flu shot, tested positive for the flu last year. They are told it is to protect patients. Nurses have been told to finish their shift after testing positive for the flu. This all boils down to money.

With 11 shots, are you sure it was the flu vaccine that did you in? Lots of variables there.

It was likely one of the other vaccines, or the combo of so many at once that lowered your immune system big time.

No thanks. I'll rely on my immune system.

I read a few days ago somewhere, that they're already thinking they may have guessed wrong on this year's batch.

We don't take flu shots, i was really sick couple years back, but have a small local clinic nearby just called and got meds. Took about a week to get well. hubby works heavy construction so he works outside all year, i work around about 10 others, but stay in my office most of the time.

Since the regular old fu is predicted to be a bad one this year, I believe getting a flu shot now will give you an edge to KEEP YOU OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!
No one needs to go near those places unless there is a dire emergency.

Give yourself an edge to avoid the serious consequences of flu, like pneumonia, that might drive you into a hospital.
When someone advises me to get or ask me why I don't get flu a shot! My response is always this! "I wonder what the Ingredients are in that shot?" They always say! "I Don't Know" I say! "I 've made my case"

flu shot - should I or shouldnt I

First of all, I cant believe that I am even considering the possibility of getting a flu shot! But, for the first time in thirty + years, I got the flu last winter and it kicked my backside. For someone that never gets sick and is pretty healthy, a flu shot has never been a consideration - BUT, seven months post flu, I am still not back to 100%. I still have days where all I want to do is sleep all day...

Are you taking a flu shot? Why or why not?

I had one flu shot ever, in the fall of 1999 (for obvious reasons). Other than that, at no time in my adult life have I ever had the shot, nor have I ever had the flu as an adult. Of course that doesn't mean I won't ever get it, but all things considered, for me, I won't get the shot. I DID get the pneumonia vax though, because I have a propensity for bronchitis.

Because of specific health reasons, I get the pneumonia and because of the places I work I get some others specific to the folks I have to work around (out of country folks)

But the two times I got a flu shot I ended up with the worst cases of flu I'd ever had since the Pig Flu way back when

Since then I just skip it

Like you if I get it, I get it

My answer is no.

To minimize and largely eliminate real diseases (cancers, lymphomas, rickets, MS, etc.), one needs a strong, robust and effective immune system. These diseases are the big problems we face.
Most people don't have such an immunity. Most people don't know, many don't care.

To minimize and largely eliminate simple things like colds, 'flu's' and the other seasonal irritants, a strong, robust and effective immune system will have little problem dealing with those small potatoes.

Proof, you say?

Learn how to read this chart, and prove it to yourself.

http://www.grassrootshealth.org/_download/disease_incidence_prev_25ng_p_ml_bline072608.pdf

Then get the test and find out your levels. If under 70, guess what? You'll get struck down like the crowd with seasonal colds and the 'flu'. Then you'll second-guess your flu shot decision (either way) and reach absolutely the wrong conclusion.

I have gotten a flu shot for as long as I can remember. At best I get a sore arm that goes away in a day.

I would recommend a pneumonia shot, and a tetanus shot also.

They are all cheap preps to help to avert huge problems later.

I got a flu shot, I think it was in the early 1920s. Well maybe not that long ago, but a lot of members here weren't even born yet.
I never knew that the two messiest orifices of the human body could act in concert like that.

My poopin/pukin ratio was right about 50/50......at the same time.

I take it you know my answer.

You might want to look at the actual statistics on the efficacy of the flu shot. It is not very convincing. I would prefer beefing up the immune system.

NO! Flu shots have Mercury and they may or may not work, they make the serum from the previous years flu virus, what are the chances it mutated in the last year?

Build up your immune system take multivitamins w/minerals and I like gummy vitamin C, because I can take 4 at a time (1000mgs) and not get heartburn, acid burp or upset stomach.....COSCO has a natural juice gummy cheap.

Anyone have suggestions on which vitamins to take?

C and D3 have been mentioned along with elderberry.
