Give it some time, Troke. Why is everyone so damn impatient to reach the Dying Like Flies stage of this? But yeah, the case in England may indicate that the West has just entered the next phase.
Who knows...

ETA: I haven't seen body bags on anyone's prep lists, but those might turn out to be one of the more useful things one could stock up on ahead of time. Not gonna go there myself - normalcy bias, I guess. Besides, if I end up being the one *needing* a bag, It'll be someone else's problem!
My time for 1000's in the streets is months, like later this spring or summer if we are unlucky, later this year if we are. My point is that there ain't `1,000's. running loose in the streets right now.

Having said that, we might now have 100's in CA. Experts are running around talking infection factor of RO 2-3. I think it is closer to 6.

BREAKING - Germany confirms a new #COVID19 case in Kaiserslautern. The man, who is a little over 30 years old, came to the Westpfalz Clinic with coronavirus symptoms himself. He had been in Iran until recently and had contact with a "symptomatically conspicuous person" there.

Never subscribe to a conspiracy something that can be explained by bureaucratic incompetence, infighting or empire building.

Remember, Trumps 2021 budget took the ax to CDC. They have to justify their existence and farming out testing kits with local evaluation across the land won't do it. Thus Central Control in the CDC.

Yields on 10-year Treasuries are at session and all-time lows, bringing the six-day decline in yields to the most on a percentage basis since December 2008.

I want to play the woo game! Trump's winning - he's winning HUGE! And no matter what they throw at him - from Russia to impeachment - it's not sticking. The Deep State is really frightened because Barr is really close at their heels. Their way of life, their money, and their power are all being threatened. Soros and others like him - know that the only way Trump loses (especially with this group of clowns running for President) is to tank the economy. But how do you tank an economy this strong - and, dang it, he just signed a HUGE trade deal with China... Yeah, that's the ticket, China. Disrupt supply chains from China and you smash the economy. And, while we're at it, let's get rid of that bothersome percentage of the world population that we always wanted to decimate anyway. So, pay a couple of Chinese Nationals in Toronto to steal some bio-engineered coronavirus - add some more virulent strains to it once it gets to Wuhan - and start testing it on the people. Easy-peasy.
Wow! Now that is some Woo! This place never disappoints!

US health secretary says Trump has acted decisively against coronavirusFrom CNN's Ross Levitt

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar is appearing this morning in front of the House Ways & Means Committee to talk about the 2021 budget.

CNN obtained Azar's opening statement in which he praises the President's team for their actions so far.
Here's Azar's complete opening statement:

The Budget reflects how seriously we take the threat of other infectious diseases, such as the novel coronavirus. It prioritizes CDC’s infectious disease programs, raising spending by $135 million from FY2020 levels to $4.3 billion, and maintains $675 million in state and local preparedness funding.

We have only 15 cases of the novel coronavirus detected here in the United States; alongside 3 cases among Americans repatriated from Wuhan; and 42 cases among American passengers repatriated from the Diamond Princess.[/QUOTE]

As President Trump, Vice President Pence, and I emphasized yesterday, the immediate risk to the American public remains low—in significant part because of the President’s decisive actions so far.

We are working closely with state, local, and private sector partners to prepare for mitigating the virus’s potential spread in the United States, because we expect to see more cases here.

In terms of identifying cases, CDC has been able to test 3,625 specimens as of this morning. At least 40 public health laboratories should now be able to test using modified existing CDC test kits. In addition, a newly manufactured CDC test can be sent to 93 public health labs as soon as Monday, and there is a privately manufactured test based on the new CDC test that can be sent to those same labs as soon as tomorrow, pending FDA clearance.

On Monday, OMB sent a request to make funding available for preparedness and response, including for therapeutics, vaccines, personal protective equipment, state and local support, and surveillance.

As the President made clear yesterday, we are open to your views on what levels of spending may be appropriate and politics have no place in our mutual efforts to keep the American people safe. As Chairman of the President’s coronavirus task force, and working in conjunction with the administration’s lead for the virus, Vice President Pence, I look forward to engaging with Congress on that.

#Coronavirus has killed Ayatollah Hadi Khosrowshahi, the first ambassador of #Iran's clerical regime to the Vatican and a Foreign Minstry adviser, and Mojtaba Zolnouri, the head of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, has been quarantined.

I'm sure some of those extreme clerics will try to spin this is "see, see! we told you cooperating with Christians was a bad idea. This is Allah punishing us for mingling with the infidels!"

And these body language gestures convey more truth than words do. The President's one major stumble in his opening remarks (noted by HD about 4 pages back) had him doing an involuntary shoulder shrug (lying) when he said, "We don't know whether we're at that very low level." (Referring to virus spread).

I like Trump. I'll be happy to vote for him in November if I'm still alive and we have elections. That was dark, I know.

Sadly, last night's conference has me thinking about Georgia Guidestones and Deagle Report. Yes, conspiracy theories.

"conspiracy theories" or truth?

I do not think that our President tanked last night. He did what he had to do.

1) He came out and had a press conference
2) He had skilled individuals talk
3) If you were any one of those individuals just what would you do differently
4) We on this find blog site have been studying this potential problem for over two decades
5) We are ahead of the curve and the suggestions and insight of the members bring wisdom to us all
6) I so often get this "where did you get this information" and to tell you the truth, this site is one of my favorites and many of the other sites were suggestions by members here or posted articles and I now use those sites
7) If you were constantly attacked by the media and the democrats and the never trumpets, just how would you handle this
8) He is right, Pelosi and Schumer play politics in the little league, Trump is transparent, does not think in the old political way, he is a leader, has lead, has over 530 companies he managed and he gets things done.
9) Bush was an idiot when Katrina hit, and Obama did not have clue ever, he was just like Pelosi, playing in the little leagues
10) I have been in upper management for 30 plus years, running my own business and working for companies in a VP position, when you manage it is often a continual crisis. People who have not experienced this atmosphere are often the first to complain and lack understanding. Managers who have been through the rough road often are humble and quiet when they see someone else experience the similar pain that they experienced.
11) Pence did this or Trump posture was that, for help us all God, just exactly what would you do if you were at that podium, having come back from a major trip to India and facing a crowd of vindictive journalist?

It is no accident that we can call this the last decade. It is no accident that in the first and second week of this decade this problem slowly raised its head. It is clear to me that we are in the seven years of plenty. I think that in 2024 all chaos will break through and then we enter gruesome and painful times.. Things are not bad now. This is just a beginning. Locust in Africa and Central Asia are also part of this early decade warning: prepare your soul for the frightful chastisement, and tribulation.

There will be far worst pandemics in the future. Mountains from the sky will fall into the sea. This whole venture is about spiritual preparation. What comes out of our mouth is the painting of the soul. If this pandemic makes you cynical, well, good luck when the trouble gets turned up a notch or two.

The desert fathers have taught us to take every day as our last. Whether this is the final decade before the two thousand year anniversary of the crucification of our Lord (two days to God) does not change the need to be spiritually with it.

I love our President because God prepared him for this ordeal. He is showing us how to manage under duress ever since he came down the escalator. He is a graduate course in management. Who could do it better?

Second patient test ‘indeterminate’ for COVID-19

A second case of COVID-19 in Humboldt County has not been confirmed because the individual involved has tested “indeterminate” for the virus.

Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich said, “Regardless, we are managing the second individual exactly the same as the confirmed case as we have from the start.”

As announced last week, Humboldt County has one confirmed case of COVID-19 in a local resident.

Both the positive and indeterminate sets of results were confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The ill individuals are doing well and continue to remain in isolation at home while being monitored for symptoms by the Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services Public Health Branch Communicable Disease Surveillance and Control Unit.

Frankovich said home isolation is the preferred management approach for people who do not need hospital-level care. “It both conserves our health care resources and decreases the risk of exposures to health care workers, other patients and the community,” she said.

As noted by the CDC, the potential public health threat posed by COVID-19 is high, both globally and to the United States. The fact that this disease has caused illness, including illness resulting in death, and sustained person-to-person spread in some countries has health officials concerned.

Frankovich stated that there is much the scientific community does not yet know about this virus and how it behaves, but more is learned every day. “We do know that it can cause mild, flu-like symptoms in some people and severe respiratory symptoms in others. We also know that the risk of getting the infection is dependent on exposure. Due to the current limited number of cases in the U.S., the risk of exposure for the general public remains low at this time, according to the CDC.

Frankovich said, “Let’s face it, going forward, the big question most of us in the U.S. have is, ‘how worried do I need to be about this outbreak?’

Unfortunately, the answer right now is not clear. Many factors determine how big an impact a new virus strain may have.”

The CDC says the most important are:

1) Clinical severity, or how serious is the illness associated with infection. When an outbreak occurs, typically it is the most vulnerable individuals—those who are older or have a chronic disease—who become ill first. Only the sickest come to medical attention. This means that the people most likely to be counted are also the most likely to fare poorly, so initial death rates appear high. Frankovich said because of the speed at which COVID-19 unfolded in China, and the need to deal with the seriously ill first, it is likely there are thousands of individuals with only mild, cold-like symptoms who have never been included in case counts. “Bottom line, to really know what percent of people who have the infection actually die from it, you need a pretty good idea of how many people actually had the infection,” Frankovich said. “This information will become more clear over time and particularly as we are able to evaluate outcome information from additional countries, including our own.”

2) Transmissibility, or how easily the pandemic virus spreads from person-toperson. In China and some other countries, there is clearly transmission occurring at the community level. This means individuals who have no known exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19 have become ill. To date, this is not occurring in the U.S., but this will very likely change over time, according to the CDC.

3) And, finally, is there effective treatment or a vaccine to prevent the infection? The CDC states that there is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19. Scientists are working hard to change that situation, but it will take some time. Fortunately, Frankovich said our health care systems offer excellent supportive care for ill individuals. Anti-viral medication for use is also being investigated. Right now, the approach of quarantining individuals with exposures and monitoring them for symptoms, as well as isolating individuals who are confirmed cases, is intended to slow the spread of illness in the U.S., Frankovich said. Slowing spread gives the scientific community time to study this infection and develop effective strategies for containing, treating and eventually preventing infection through vaccination. “The world has become a much smaller place due to air travel which can take us across the planet in hours,” Frankovich said. “COVID-19 is not the first and will not be the last new virus strain to emerge, and that is why continual surveillance for emerging illnesses and maintaining or expanding our capacity to respond is so critical to the health and safety of our communities.”

US health official: If coronavirus spreads, "it’ll look and feel to the American people more like a severe flu season"

Andrew Harnik/AP

Andrew Harnik/AP

US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said the United States is in “active containment mode” and is using isolation units for positive coronavirus patients to contain spread.

This morning, speaking with the House Ways & Means Committee about the 2021 budget, Azar said currently, when a patient tests positive, they go into an “Ebola-like isolation unit” adding “that is not what’s indicated medically for these individuals.”
“It's really important we correct this impression that it will require this massive hospital isolation for normal patients,” Azar said. “If we end up having broader spread, it’ll be a much more common approach. As [CDC’s Principal Deputy Director Dr. Anne] Schuchat called it, it’ll look and feel to the American people more like a severe flu season, in terms of the interventions and approaches you see.”
Azar said most people who get coronavirus will have mild to moderate symptoms and will be able to stay home, treating it like the severe flu or cold.
